Hey!

Has it really been seven months since I’ve done this type of post? I used to be on top of it weekly, but I guess with me not reading as much this year I just haven’t had any books to update about. In October, I did amazing with reading so many books and listening to so many audiobooks. Well, it’s November 10th and I feel like I’m back into a reading slump. UGH. This month has been weird though, especially with the election that was happening. I spent four or five days glued to the TV almost 24/7 watching all the election results and news. Some nights I stayed up until 5am, because I didn’t want to miss anything. There was even one day where I didn’t go to sleep until 7:30am after having been awake for almost 24 hours. During that week (last week) I didn’t do a single thing besides watch election coverage, lol. So you’re probably wondering if I have even read anything at all so far this month? And that’s a yes and a no…lol. I would say I barely read, but I did finish one book and started a couple of others. Shall I jump into today’s post? I shall…

Currently Reading:

instantkarmacrazystupid

Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer
Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams

I was approved on Netgalley for Instant Karma and I am finally getting the chance to read it. I’m only a few chapters in, so I don’t have a real opinion about it yet, but I’m looking forward to reading it. It does make me nervous because I wasn’t a fan of Marissa’s book series the Lunar Chronicles, but this is completely different, so maybe I’ll like it better! I am listening to the audiobook of Crazy Stupid Bromance. I’m about 25% into it and so far I like it. I have to actually try to finish this audiobook ASAP, because it’ll be returned to the library in a week….YIKES!

Recently Finished:

sidewaysstoriesfromwaysideschool

Sideways Stories from Wayside School by Louis Sachar

Okay….so Sideways Stories from Wayside School is a children’s chapter book. BUT….I don’t care because I loved this book as a kid and I wanted to read it again. It’s also a four book series and I’ve only ever read the first two books, so I am currently waiting for the others from my library, so that I can read them all! Life has been a little rough, and this year hasn’t been the greatest; I needed some happiness and I remember this book making me happy as a kid. I liked it now just as much as I did when I was a kid too.

Pretending by Holly Bourne

I plan to read Pretending next, because I am part of the blog tour. I’ll be posting a review and an excerpt from the book on November 23rd! Realistically though, I may end up reading this as soon as the copy of the book gets to me. I want to make sure I have it read and my posts ready for the 23rd, so this may take priority over anything else that I am currently reading (if I don’t finish them before I get this one) or whatever else I plan to read next.

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

I know that it’s probably way too early for Christmas decorations, but like I mentioned earlier in this post…this year hasn’t been the greatest for me. Any bit of happiness I can find, I take it. Christmas makes me happy, Christmas decorations make me happy….so we put up our Christmas tree! Check it out:

We also put up Christmas lights outside on our house, so that also makes me pretty stoked and excited. Christmas cheer for a messed up year! 😛 I still need to fluff the tree to get rid of empty spaces, hang ornaments on the tree, and stockings on the fireplace. Speaking of fireplace, the hubby built it himself! Minus the actual fireplace insert (the black part), but the frame and everything else he did himself! Anyway, that’s all for this post.

In case you missed it;

I hope you have a great day!

Happy Wednesday!

The week seems to be going by pretty quickly! Here are the books in my life over the last week and coming week.

Image-3

Fablehaven by Brandon Mull
Slasher Girls & Monster Boys

My younger sister let me borrow Fablehaven two months ago, so I decided to finally read it now. I haven’t started it yet, but I’m going to start it today. It sounds like a fun read and I love the book cover so much. I have also been slowing pushing through Slasher Girls & Monster Boys. I honestly haven’t been reading it that much though.

Image-2

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I just finished Cinder last night and it was a really good book, but I did have a little problem with it. I’ll have a review up in a day or two. I decided to binge read the series in November, so once I finish Fablehaven then it’ll be back to the Lunar Chronicles. And with that…

Image-1

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

I am starting Scarlet next and I’m excited to read it! I’ve been waiting way too long to read this series and now I can finally see what everyone is talking about.

Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? What are you currently reading, recently finished, reading next? Feel free to link me to your WWW Wednesday posts as well!

I posted my October book haul a couple days ago, so feel free to check it out if you’re interested in seeing the books I got this month; Book Haul||October.

Hey! 🙂

I’ve been in kind of a reading slump, which I have mentioned a couple other times. So I haven’t been reading as much or as fast as I would like. I think I may be getting out of it though, so that’s good! Let’s hope I can finish off October strong and knock out some more of my Halloweenie TBR!

CURRENTLY READING:

1359772819364719

Asylum by Madeleine Roux
Slasher Girls & Monster Boys by Various Authors

I am currently reading Asylum and so far it’s interesting. I’m not really that far into it though. Hopefully I’ll finish it before the end of the week. It sounds promising and there are some creepy pictures in it too! I read the first two short stories in Slasher Girls & Monster Boys, which were really cool. The first one was extra creepy, because it’s something that can really happen in real life! The second one was a creepy Alice in Wonderland inspired one, which I loved! I can’t wait to get to the Leigh Bardugo story! I am one away from getting there, so I may read the next one soon. I’ve been reading one of the short stories in-between each of the books I have been reading this month. Slasher Girls will probably be a book that I don’t finish right away, because I want to switch between that book and other books I hope to read this month. I do want to finish it in October though.

RECENTLY FINISHED:

1301851424396858

The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle
The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich

I just finished The Hallowed Ones yesterday and that book was SO SO good! I loved the whole idea behind it and I loved how it played out. I recently wrote a review on it and you can check that out here; The Hallowed Ones. I also recently finished The Dead House, but I didn’t really like it and thought that it wasn’t as creepy as everyone was saying it was. I fell for all the hype and sadly I was let down BIG time. You can check out my review for this one here; The Dead House.

READING NEXT:

2526392724120519

The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco
Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs

I’m not entirely sure which one that I want to read next, but I am leaning more toward The Girl from the Well only because it’s an e-book I checked out from the library and I only have it for about 13 more days and it’s also pretty short compared to Library of Souls. I do hope to get to Library of Souls this month though. My older sister is currently reading my e-book of it and I don’t want to read it at the same time and accidentally lose her page or accidentally take my Kindle to her page and see spoilers! I’m excited about them both though!

I am currently using my Mary (from Hocus Pocus) bookmark as I read Asylum. Isn’t she the cutest?

Hi!

I actually had a good reading week with finishing some books and audiobooks. It hasn’t been the best month and I know I’ve mentioned that quite a bit! Here’s what I’ve had going on as far as books in the last week or so…

Currently Reading:

142561406833745 (7)136251

The Water Travelers by Daniel Waltz
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

I’m not too far into either of these, but I am excited to read them. The Water Travelers is pretty interesting so far and I can’t wait to read more! You should also go check out Daniel’s blog OVER HERE! I haven’t exactly started Deathly Hallows yet, but I am as soon as I post this! It’ll be the audiobook I listen to this week. I’m sad to see the series end, BUT I still have the movies to watch. I’ve only watched the first two so far.

Recently Finished:

27451183043221

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

Shelbie sent me a copy of The Great Gatsby, because she knew I wanted to read it. Sadly, I didn’t like it as much as I hoped I would. I was confused a lot of the time. There were some times where I did enjoy it though. I’m going to watch the movie and see if I like the movie better. Dumplin’ was such a great book and I’ll link you below to my review in case you missed it or want to check it out. I loved Half-Blood Prince! There was so much going on and I really enjoyed it. I even cried a few times. 😦 Prisoner of Azkaban is still my favorite. I’ve said that a million times, lol.

Reading Next:

question

I have no idea what I will be reading next, to be honest. I do know it’ll hopefully be a spooky one for October! And maybe Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. I think Shelbie and I are going to read it together at some point.

Hi 🙂

The week seems to be going by pretty quickly. I’ve been pretty tired this week. Trying to go to sleep at a decent time has been a complete fail over the last few months. Sigh. Also found out some not so good news yesterday, so that sucks. BUT, I always try to stay positive about everything, so I am not too worried about things. Anyway though! I decided to do a WWW post, because it’s been a little while since I’ve done one.

Currently Reading:

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
Mosquitoland by David Arnold

The Knife of Never Letting Go is such a strange book, but I am really enjoying it. I am really excited to continue to read it later today! You know, because being adult can get in the way of reading a lot of the time. I’m about 70% finished with the Mosquitoland audiobook. The audiobook is good, it has a good narrator. The story itself is alright. I’m not blown away with it like everyone seems to be. I swear to you though, something must be wrong with me. Because most of the books I’ve been reading haven’t been blowing me away lately! Sigh.

Recently Finished:

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen – Review.
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh – Review.

Remember how I just said that books lately haven’t been blowing me away? Here are two more examples! I did enjoy these books overall as a whole, but honestly, not as much as I would have hoped. And certainly not as much as so many others have loved and raved about these books. Linked above are my reviews for both.

Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz
The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith

I will definitely be getting to Shattered Blue next as it is a Netgalley book that I have to read and review. I tried starting it, but I was feeling slumpish and decided to put it aside. It sounds like a really good book though, so I am looking forward to it. My next audiobook may be The Cuckoo’s Calling. It sounds like a really good book, so I may give it a chance.

🙂

I am honestly pretty overwhelmed with the amount of books that I want to read that I own. Lately, I’ve been staring at my bookcases and my Kindle and I just look away. There are so many and I bought so many this month. I don’t want to say it’s making reading less fun, but in a way it kind of is. Something I love to do shouldn’t feel so overwhelming, you know? I think next month I am going to try to chill with the buying books and plus, I kind of have to with how things are going right now in other parts of my life.

Anyway, I’ve been slowly working on my August wrap up post and my August book haul post. I am currently waiting for some books, but I don’t think they will all be here before August ends. I know the majority of them will be Friday. The other four I’m not sure about. I have to get off here and get to work though. I hope you all have an awesome day! ❤

Hi 🙂

This WWW may look a little similar to last week’s, because nothing really has changed other than the books moving into different spots. 😛 I guess that’s a good thing though, because it means I’m reading! I apologize in advance! I’ll write new things about the books though, so it’s not completely the same.

Currently Reading:

Blood of My Blood by Barry Lyga
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

I am still working through the Order of the Phoenix, but it will be finished today! I know I said before that I haven’t really been in the mood for audiobooks this month, so it’s been taking me awhile to finish this one! I am actually enjoying this one so much more than I did the Goblet of FireBlood of My Blood has been everything I hoped it would be so far. I am about 40% into the book and I am loving it so much! I probably could have had it finished by now, but I keep delaying it since I don’t want it to end!! I keep stopping after every chapter to do something else, sigh. I will definitely be finishing it within the next day or two though. It’s just so hard to let go of this series! It’s been awhile since I have absolutely fell in love with a series like this. The last one was Penryn & the End of Days, but even then, I don’t even think it has made me feel as much as I Hunt Killers has; super close though!

Recently Finished:

The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige

The last book I finished was The Wicked Will Rise. I did a super mini-review of it OVER HERE! It was really enjoyable and I am excited that I finally got around to reading it. New characters introduced, more adventure, and chaos. It did leave me a little confused toward the end, but overall it was a really good read. I am looking forward to the next book to get answers to my unanswered questions!

Reading Next:

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz

Finally going to pick up The Wrath and the Dawn for the read-along. I was going to do it after The Wicked, but then I decided to go with Blood of My Blood because I knew I would fly through that one. I am really stoked to read it, because I’ve heard so many good things about it and it’s been sitting on my bookshelf for way too long now! I was approved for Shattered Blue on Netgalley, so I may try to get that one read after The Wrath. I do have Siege and Storm begging me to pick it up though, so we will see what happens!

Lucky Day by Barry Lyga
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige

I am halfway done with the last novella for the Jasper Dent series, which is exciting! So far I am really liking it. I am listening to the Order of the Phoenix audiobook, but I haven’t in a few days. I will definitely finish it this week though. I haven’t exactly started The Wicked Will Rise yet, but I should be hopefully today or tomorrow.

Career Day by Barry Lyga
No Place Like Oz by Danielle Paige
The Witch Must Burn by Danielle Paige
The Wizard Returns by Danielle Paige
Heart of Tin by Danielle Paige

My month of novellas turned out to be four days of novellas, because I finished them all in four days (besides the last one I am reading now). I read all the novellas for the Dorothy Must Die series. They were all pretty good except Heart of Tin. That was torture, to be honest. The Tin Man is annoying, so annoying! He acted like a love sick twelve year old girl the entire book. I also read the Jasper Dent novellas, which were pretty good. It was interesting to read about the other characters, but I will forever love Jasper.

I will definitely be picking up The Wrath and the Dawn after The Wicked Will Rise for the read-along that I am joining. After that will probably be Blood of My Blood. The last book in the Jasper Dent (I Hunt Killers) series. I am so sad to see it end, but I am dying to find out what is going on!!

Hi! 🙂

It’s Wednesday already! That’s actually not too bad of a thing. It means the week is going by quicker and closer to the weekend! 😛 I’ve been actually having really crazy days at work over the last two weeks, so lately I’ve been really looking forward to the weekends more. Onto the books!

Currently Reading:

Game by Barry Lyga
Whistling Past the Graveyard by Susan Crandall

I love both of these books so much and I’m only a little over half done with them both! Game will keep you constantly on the edge of your seat. It’s the sequel to I Hunt Killers and it’s just as amazing as I Hunt Killers is. Barry Lyga is amazing! Whistling Past the Graveyard is so good! It’s so sad, but so amazing at the same time. I am really enjoying this audiobook so much! I will be doing a review of it in the next day or two. So, I started Paper Towns by John Green, but I was just so bored with it that I put it back on my bookshelf and decided to just read it another time.

My Sister Lives On The Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher
From Norvelt to Nowhere by Jack Gantos
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
Made You Up by Francesca Zappia

My Sister Lives On The Mantelpiece was such an amazing book! I really enjoyed it and I also loved the fact that it was read by David Tennant. You can see more about what I thought on this book over here. I also listened to the audiobooks of From Norvelt to Nowhere and Hush, Hush. Norvelt, was a decent book. It had me laughing and everything, but I didn’t give it a higher rating than a 3, because I liked the first book a lot better than this one. Hush, Hush was okay. I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I found a lot of the characters to be rather annoying, to be honest. I decided to include Made You Up in this post, because it’s an amazing book (see more about what I thought of this book over here) and it’s the last physical book that I read. I’ve been listening to more audiobooks than physically reading books this month. I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump when it comes to reading the books myself. I think that Game has definitely been helping with that though, because I’ve been flying through it any chance I get!

More Than This by Patrick Ness
What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen

I got the e-book version of More Than This from my library, so I plan to start that after Game. I am really excited about it, because it sounds like such an awesome book! I will also be listening to the audiobook for What Happened to Goodbye. I’ve never read (or listened) to a Sarah Dessen book and I know so many people love her books, so I figured I would give this one a try as my next audiobook.

Modern Romance by Aziz Ansara
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

I am really enjoying Modern Romance. It has a lot of information for those who are dating or attempting to date in the world today versus how it was in the past. It’s also hilarious, because Aziz makes the topic funny while being serious about it all too. So far the fourth Harry Potter is okay. I’m not too far into it yet and I’m not really far at all into The Flying Circus. I got it for review from Netgalley, so I want to start reading more of it asap.

I really didn’t like The Shock of the Fall too much, but I’ll link you to the post I just did on this book at the end of this post. I really liked The One and I know I’ve said this a million times, but I really hated America. I think she was my main problem with the series. I did enjoy it though and I am definitely looking forward to reading The Heir.

I’ve had them on my bookshelf and have been dying to read them already! I’m not sure what audiobook I will read next. I’m currently reading The Shock of the Fall and I honestly have no idea how I feel about it and I’m half way through it. I’m extremely confused and I don’t really like the writing style and I honestly have no clue what is even going on. I feel like I’m missing something. I am currently listening to the audiobook of The Elite and I really like it, although the love triangle going on with America is starting to really annoy me so much.

The Selection by Kiera Cass

I recently finished A Court of Thorns and Roses (link to my thoughts at the end of this post) and I loved it so much! I recently finished the audiobook for The Selection and I really enjoyed reading it. I went back and forth for so long on if I even really wanted to read this series, but since the library had the audiobooks, I decided to check it out! I usually go with audiobooks for books that I’m unsure if I want to read or not. That way I can listen to them at work and when I’m not working, I can physically read books that I know that I for sure want to read.

My next audiobook is going to be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I’ve been listening to the entire series on audiobook this year and so far I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to start it and most likely will be today or tomorrow. My next physical read will be Modern Romance, which I am beyond excited about! I’ve been waiting for this book for so long! I also need to read The Flying Circus that I got through Netgalley. I’ll probably be switching between Modern Romance and The Flying Circus.

The Wedding Virus and Other Snippets by Natalie Shell
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

I’ve actually finished a lot of books since my last WWW post, but here are just a few of those books. Belzhar, it was okay, but I didn’t really like it that much. The Wedding Virus was a really good read. Everything, Everything was SO AMAZING!

The Selection by Kiera Cass
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

I still have to get around to The Shock of the Fall for the book club. It’s taking me longer than expected to get to it. Hopefully by Monday. My next audiobooks will be The Selection and the 4th Harry Potter; depending on which the library gets first will be what is next. I am really excited about them.

’89 Walls by Katie Pierson
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
The Looking Glass Wars by  Frank Beddor

I know, I know…I’m still reading ’89 Walls and it’s been like a month almost? Sigh. I’m just not sure how I feel about it and I’ve been getting distracted with other books, oops. I am trying to finish it in the next couple days. I’m about 45% through with it, so hopefully soon! I’ve been switching between ACOTAR and so far it’s good. I’m not really that far into it, just a few chapters, but I’m not bored at all…so that’s a good sign. My audiobook is The Looking Glass Wars and I really love this! I’m almost done and I’ll most likely have it finished today.

Revenge, Ice Cream, and Other Things Best Served Cold by Katie Finn
The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

I’ve talked about Revenge, Ice Cream a lot, so I am sure that you all know how much I love this book and the entire series so far. I’m sure you all also know that you should NOT read the description to this book without reading the first book (Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend) first! lol…I know I said that a million times and I purposely did not link to the Goodreads page for that reason, lol. The Infinite Sea was definitely really good and I can’t wait for the next book! You’ll see these books in my recap post, which I will link at the end of this entry in case you missed it.

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga

The Shock of the Fall is my read for the book club I’m in and I know I’ve mentioned that before. It was my choice, so I hope I like it. I know some people didn’t like it, but others absolutely loved it…so we’ll see how I feel once I get it started! I Hunt Killers is going to be my next audiobook. It sounds really good and can’t wait to get started with it.

Other random things:

  • I was approved for Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon on Netgalley and I am SO SO SO excited about this! It’s been one of the books that I’m most excited about releasing this year! I will definitely be trying to read it this month or in July if I can’t get to it this month. Also, isn’t the cover so pretty?! 🙂

18692431

  • I’ve been tagged to do a bunch of stuff, which I will be getting to ASAP! I’ve just been busy…well obsessed and binge watching Orphan Black. The show is so crazy and ahhhhhh I love it!
  • There are so many new releases that just came out and it’s seriously killing me that I can’t buy them all RIGHT NOW! I’m trying to hold myself back from spending ridiculous amounts of money that I don’t have right now. It’s probably a good thing I don’t have any credit cards. 😛
  • Over the weekend I have to completely wipe my new computer and restart it. I am NOT happy about this. I’ve been having problems since the day I bought it and took it out of the box. I’m just waiting on a flash drive, so I can move all my pictures and music off it. Sigh.

I guess that’s all for this post. In case you missed it, you can see my May Recap post over hereAll the books I read or listened to in May. I will end this post with a picture of my furbaby ColbyJack trying to harass my younger sister’s gerbils, lol.

End of Days by Susan Ee
Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend by Katie Finn
’89 Walls by Katie Pierson
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

OMG, I don’t normally do this AT ALL with having so many books that I am reading! This month has just been so crazy with books, so I am currently reading all of these books. I usually only keep it to one audiobook and one physical book (or e-book). I was originally reading ’89 Walls, but then wanted a physical book to carry around too, so I started to read Broken Hearts. So far I am really liking Broken Hearts and been neglecting ’89 Walls – oops. I also had to drop EVERYTHING I was reading once End of Days was released, because I’ve been waiting for it and OMG the wait has totally been worth it so far! Harry Potter is my audiobook. 🙂

I am really loving Aristotle and Dante so far. The chapters are really short, so it also makes to easier to read. I’m not at all far into The 5th Wave yet, so I can’t really make a judgement. It’s the audiobook I’m listening to at work this week and I’m looking forward to it.

I’ll probably be reading ’89 Walls while I wait for End of Days to release or right after End of Days. Depends on if I finish Aristotle and Dante before it gets released. The 3rd Harry Potter will be my next audiobook to listen to at work.

I am a little over 100 pages into Red Queen and I am really enjoying the book so far. I think it’ll be a book that I can easily fly threw. I just started House of Secrets and I am not exactly sure how I feel about it yet. I have high hopes for it though and I am not sure if that scares me or not. I don’t want a let down! I did individual posts for each of these books and I will link them at the end of this post in case you want to check out more about them and my thoughts. A quick thought about each though: Talon, I really enjoyed reading; great book and excited about Rogue. Throne of Glass, it took me a VERY long time to get into the book and for that I didn’t really enjoy it as much. I had high hopes for Throne of Glass and it sucked when it wasn’t as great as I thought it would be or as great as everyone I’ve seen think about it.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. This was the book chosen for the May read for the book club I am in (Bloggers’ Book Club). So I’ve been going through this kind of big reading slump and I think it might be slowly going away? I sure am crossing my fingers. Technically I haven’t started Throne of Glass, but I am starting it today and I am really excited about it. Beautiful Chaos I am currently listening to the audiobook. The series was so promising, but honestly, I am halfway through and I am kind of bored of the Caster world and I really don’t like Lena and Ethan deserves better. Ethan and Lena’s relationship is SO annoying. He should totally be with Liv. I actually stopped listening to Beautiful Chaos for awhile and listened to something else. If it wasn’t for the book having to go back to the library in a week, I would listen a different one.

So I technically did not finish Dorothy Must Die, but I have 50 pages left and I am finishing it today. I am so glad I am almost finished with it, because this reading slump has totally sucked and I have been trying to finish it since the beginning of March! I really love the book and it’s been sad that I have been taking so long to finish. I finished the Linger audiobook yesterday and I loved it so much! I actually loved Linger more than I loved Shiver. I have the next two books waiting to be listened to after Beautiful Chaos.

I got The Lie from Netgalley and I am going to be reading it after Throne of Glass and doing a review on my blog about it. I am excited about reading it, because it sounds like it’ll be really good. I read a couple chapters of it, but it’s not enough to really say if I like it. Forever will be the next audiobook I listen to at work, which I seriously can’t wait for since I loved Linger so much.

I plan to start doing more reviews on books on my blog, because I really haven’t been doing much of that and that’s what I really wanted to do when I first started doing this blog. I also need to check out the 2015 reading challenge (the POPSUGAR one), because I haven’t been keeping up with that either and I really wanted to do that this year as well! I got some of them done (there is a category for them on my blog), but no where near where I should have! I’ll have to look at everything again and figure out a plan for the both of these!

Anyway, I really have to get to work! You can check out my last post here – Creative Blogger Award. Some facts about myself and pictures I’ve taken. 🙂 I hope everyone has a great day!

I am finally able to read Dorothy Must Die guilt free. I was so excited when I bought it that I put whatever book I was reading at the time on hold just to start it. I eventually felt guilty about doing that and couldn’t let myself enjoy the book, so I stopped reading Dorothy until I finished those. I am listening to the Beautiful Creatures audiobook at work. It was always a back and forth struggle with me on deciding if I ever wanted to read the series. I decided to listen to the audiobook since the library had it. So far I really like it and the audiobook is an enhanced version, so there are so many sound effects and music playing, lol. I feel like I am actually in the book and I also get a better sense of the surroundings. Like if it’s raining, you get to hear the rain and thunder. It’s pretty fun. Also, the song that is always mentioned in the book, with this enhanced version they play the song.

Since I won’t be home tonight to do day 13 of the book challenge, I am going to include it in this post and I am going to try to make it a small, so this post isn’t so long.

Day 13: Favorite story or collection of stories (short stories, novellas, novelletes, etc.).

The Day Boy and the Night Girl by George MacDonald

“The Day Boy and the Night Girl begins by telling of a witch named Watho who, in her pursuit of complete knowledge, undertook an experiment to mold two people from birth by strictly controlling their environments.”

No fancy cover, because I didn’t like what Goodreads had and Amazon wasn’t any better. It was first published in 1882! There is also so many variations of the cover, which is crazy! I read this a couple years ago and I loved the story so much. I loved the characters and the ending was perfect. The witch kept the boy (Photogen) from seeing the night and kept the girl (Nycteris) from seeing the day, but one day she finds a way out of the chamber that she is kept in and every day sneaks out. It’s a cute little story. I would suggest that everyone read it. It’s a super short read, but even with how short it is, it is amazing! ❤ One of my favorites.

In case you missed it, you can check out my day 12 post about a favorite poem of mine over here and some random rambles and pictures. 🙂

I just started Dark Days (audiobook) today and so far it’s okay. I’m not too far into it, so I can’t give a real opinion yet. I like listening to audiobooks at work (which I’ve mentioned a bunch of times). It’s a nice way to pass the work day along.

The Remains was a great book and I really enjoyed it. The Curse Keepers was the WORST book I have ever read (well listened to) and about 68% into the book, I started to jump through the rest of the book randomly until the end. I do not plan on reading the rest of the series. I couldn’t take it anymore. The characters were SO ANNOYING! Probably more on this in my February recap post in a few days.

What do you think you’ll read next?
1805306015750874455307

I’m finally going to get the proper chance to read Dorothy Must Die (my last post mentioned how I stopped reading it). It’s calling my name as it lays on my nightstand next to my bed. I joined a book club over on Goodreads (Bloggers’ Book Club) and the book for March is The Glass Arrow. I am pretty excited about reading that! I am also excited about the book club. A lot of the bloggers I’ve met on here (and ones I haven’t met yet) are apart of that book club, so it’s exciting. Play Dead will be my next audiobook to listen to at work, it sounded interesting.

I want to get at least two more books finished before the end of February. I’m not too worried about not getting them done, because I am over halfway done with one (I’m sure you already know what it is since I’ve been struggling to finish it all month) and Dark Days I’ll be done by tomorrow.

Greyhound I did a post on my blog here. I absolutely loved the book so much. Artemis Fowl I really enjoyed also and I am excited about reading more of the series. Time’s Edge was really good and I ended up liking the series (so far) more than I thought I was going to. I’m looking forward to the third book that comes out this year.

What do you think you’ll read next?
I said I wanted to read the books that I started but never finished, but I am having trouble wanting to pick them up. I’ve found a ton of books that I rather read. Sad, sad, I know. I swear by the end of this year I will have them done. It’s hard to choose what I want to read next because I have SO MANY that I want to read NOW! lol. Here are some that are on my TBR and that I may read next. No promises because I really won’t know until it’s time. I need to find a better solution to this problem! lol.

194864121306718293427cover

Big Little Lies I found at Goodwill and it was on my reading list, so I want to read that. Flush I’ve had the book for years and never read it, so I want to get around to that. The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry sounds like it would be a great book and I am excited about reading it. Shame sounds like a book I will love (I hope it doesn’t let me down) and that’s gonna be my next audiobook that I’m gonna start tomorrow. So I will probably read these next. I’m trying to at least read books I own before I go crazy buying books again. So far all of these have been owned or from Kindle Unlimited.

And here is a picture of my Time Lord Kitty, just because. ❤
