Books I’d Gladly Throw Into the Ocean.

Hey!

I am back with another Top Ten Tuesday. I am shocked, because it’s usually months between my next one haha. 😛 I thought the topic for this week sounded fun though and I couldn’t pass it up! I decided to sort my Goodreads “read” shelf by rating and that is how I determined which books I will gladly throw into the ocean. The books on my list today are ones that I gave one star or two stars. They are books that I found mostly boring and that I couldn’t connect with the story or the characters. They are books that didn’t grab (or hold) my attention as much as I had hoped they would. Most of these I had such high hopes for and was so let down. Here are the books that I would gladly throw into the ocean…

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

What books would you gladly throw into the ocean? Any books on my list that we have different opinions about? Feel free to link me to your post, so I can check it out!

I feel like I’m on a roll with blogging this first week of April. I’ve already had three (this one makes the third) posts this month and I actually have two more to go up before the week ends! Although, I am considering saving them for next week, so I have something to post then. Hmm. I wish all weeks were as good as this one has been with posting lol. If you read my previous post (linked below), I talked about struggling to come up with new things to post about. So, this first week of April has been good. I hope you had a great weekend and Easter if you celebrated! 🙂

Books On My Spring 2021 TBR.

Hey!

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since I last did a Top Ten Tuesday list! I thought I would participate this week, because while I am super bad at sticking to TBRs, I do have some priority books that I want to get to as soon as possible! I’ve been trying to get to those first before anything else and these are the ones that I have left on my priority list. I am calling this my Spring TBR since I am prioritizing these books and plan (maybe hope is a better word :P) to read them within the next few months. If you’ve been reading my blog this year, then you’d know that this year I am trying to focus more on older books that I’ve had on my shelf for a while and the ARCs I never got around to reading last year. So, that is where most of this Spring TBR is coming from. Five books on this list are ARCs, two are from my old TBR jar (each month I am trying to read one book that I pick from my old TBR jar), and the others are books that I’ve really wanted to read and series I’ve wanted to finish. So, without further ado, here is my Spring TBR!

What books are on your Spring TBR? Have you read any of the ones on my list? Feel free to link me to your post, so I can check it out! 🙂

I am going to do some blog hopping this week to catch up with you and reply to comments. I haven’t really been around too much since I am going through this reading slump. I’ve also been addicted to watching baking competition shows on Discovery+ ever since getting into this reading slump. So, I spend a lot of my time doing that when I get off work. I am hoping to get out of this slump soon…..fingers crossed! I had such a great reading month in February, so I am bummed that the first half of March isn’t going so well for me with that! Hopefully the second half of the month will be better. We shall see!

Books I Enjoyed but Rarely Talk About.

Hey!

It’s been almost a year since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday post, yikes! 😛 I couldn’t resist doing this one though. There are so many books that I read and really like or really love and either don’t review them or don’t talk about them too much afterward. So, I figured I would highlight some of those books this week by doing TTT today. These are in no particular order. All titles linked to Goodreads.

Books On My Summer 2019 TBR.

Hello!

First I want to say thank you for the comments on my previous post. They really meant a lot to me and I will reply back as soon as I get a little more free time. The beginning of the weeks are usually the busiest for me. So I will catch up with comments and your posts soon! Now onto my Top Ten Tuesday for this week. The topic for this week is books on my Summer TBR. My summer TBR this year is a mix of ARCs and some books that I hope to finally get around to reading. I’m not the greatest at sticking to TBRs, so some of these may change throughout the summer. But so far this is what my summer TBR looks like.

Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa
Wilder Girls by Rory Power
Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim
How to Hack a Heartbreak by Kristin Rockaway
Swipe Right for Murder by Derek Milman

These five books are Netgalley ARCs. A few of these are July releases, so I will hopefully be starting them pretty soon. I am actually currently reading Soul of the Sword right now, which I am really stoked to be reading. I’m not that far into it yet (maybe like 40 or so pages), but so far I am really happy to be back in that world. Shadow of the Fox was one of my favorite books and I have been dying for the sequel. I am really excited about all of these ARCs.

bunnythesilentpatientscythekingofscarselizaandhermonsters

Bunny by Mona Awad
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
Scythe by Neal Shusterman
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia

The first two are library holds and I feel like I’ve been on hold for The Silent Patient for forever now! It should be checked out to me really soon though, so I’m stoked! I’ve been wanting to read Scythe for so long now, so I am hoping to finally read it this summer. Same with King of Scars! I meant to read it when it was released, but ended up not. It’s been really hard sticking to my alphabet challenge this year and deep down I’ve given up on it, but I wanted to throw Eliza and Her Monsters out there from that TBR, because I loved Zappia’s previous book and really hoping to finally read this one.

What does your summer TBR look like? Have you read any of the books on my list? Feel free to link me to your TTT post, so I can check it out! I’m sure my TBR will love you for it. 😛

Random question, do any of you watch the TV show Big Brother? The new season starts tonight and I am so stoked. It’s one of my favorite things about the summer!! I think I know summer is really here once Big Brother begins, haha. Also, it’s ridiculously hot outside now. Like 90-100s here. I’m not used to this. In my old city, it was always like ten degrees cooler there than it is here.

Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2019.

Hey!

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since the last Top Ten Tuesday post I’ve done! I really need to get back into doing them, because they are a lot of fun. This week’s topic is about my most anticipated book releases for the second half of this year. There are SO many amazing sound books coming out this year that I haven’t gotten yet and that have still not been released! So many books, so little time…and money. 😛 Here are the books that I am really looking forward to in the second half of the year. The majority of these are ones that I actually have on preorder.

Still battling this reading & blogging slump, but hopefully I’ll get out of it soon! I’m crossing my fingers, because only reading 2.5 books this entire month so far is unacceptable, haha.  Popular Books that Lived Up to the Hype.

Hey!

I forever have bad luck with hyped books. I don’t usually love them and I don’t understand the hype surrounding a lot of them. I don’t know why I am like this, haha. I guess when I see a book getting so much hype, my expectations become WAY too high and I expect amazing and get none of those amazing feelings when I read them. There have been a few where the hype was real and I was here for it though!

FALLINGKINGDOMSserpentkingthecruelprincedarkestmindstheboneseason

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon

A little cheating for Falling Kingdoms, because not going to lie, the first book didn’t “WOW” me, but I am LIVING for the series and it’s one of my favorites of all-time now. With all the hype surrounding The Cruel Prince, I was sure I was going to hate it. I absolutely loved it so much and I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel.

simonvsdarkmatterredqueeneverythingeverythingSHADOW

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Honestly, I have no idea why I am including Red Queen on this list. I guess because I loved the hell out of Red Queen, but the rest of the series sucked. The sequel was bad and I didn’t even get past a few chapters of the third book before I had to DNF it. But I did LOVE the first book so much, so I guess the hype was real for that one. The rest of the series, not so much.

What popular books did you read that lived up to the hype? Feel free to link me to your TTT posts, so I can check them out!

Best Books I’ve Read In 2018 (So Far).

Hey!

I can’t believe it’s already been half a year! So far in 2018 I have read 38 books and listened to 10 audiobooks (currently listening to my 10th now). Here are ten of my five star reads. I think total I have about 12 or 13 five stars for the year so far. All of these books below were so amazing and I loved everything about them. Some are sequels and series enders that I absolutely love so much.

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
Immortal Reign by Morgan Rhodes
Inferno by Julie Kagawa
Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green
What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum
Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum
Orphan Number Eight by Kim van Alkemade
The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan

Turtles All the Way Down was probably the biggest surprise of 2018 for me, because I honestly went into it thinking I was going to hate it. I don’t usually love John Green books, but this one was pretty amazing. Another surprise was The Cruel Prince, because really hyped books and I don’t mix well. I don’t usually love hyped books as much as everyone else and I have no idea why! But it just doesn’t always happen for me, but I loved The Cruel Prince so much. Immortal Reign (Falling Kingdoms) and Inferno (Talon Saga) were series enders and they are two of my favorite series of all-time! I hated to see them end, but they were so damn amazing. ALL THE FEELS.

Hey!

Honestly, this post was a lot harder to do than I originally thought it would be. I guess there isn’t a ton of books that I am willing to slay a lion for. 😛 I decided to go with five books that are not released yet and then five books that are already released that I really want to get my hands on. I’ve been trying really hard not to buy a ton of books, so there are quite a few out there now that I still haven’t gotten.

Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read.

Hi!

I am going to go with only the books that I own that I’ve had for a really long time now and still haven’t read. Let me tell you, it’s A LOT more than ten. I’m going to just get right into it. These are books that I’ve probably had since 2015 and haven’t read them yet.

I really want to try to make these books a priority this year and finally read them. There’s also PLENTY MORE not on this list that I want to try to make a priority this year. I really need to get to reading these older books I bought and that I’ve had for so long.

Books I Really Liked but Can’t Remember Anything/Much About.

Hey!

This is something that I am so bad with! Even some of my favorite books, I can’t seem to remember them clearly anymore. SO SAD, especially when I know I’ve loved them so much at the time that I read them. It’s so much worse when it’s a book that is a part of a series. Here are some of the books that I’ve read over the years that I REALLY loved, but can’t really remember much about them (other than the feeling of knowing I loved them).

serpentkingsimonvsbookoflostthingsthegiverangelfall

The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly
The Giver (all 4 boooks) by Lois Lowry
Angelfall (all 3 books) by Susan Ee

These are some of my favorite books and it’s so sad that I can’t remember them completely. I know I loved them SO MUCH! I rated all of them five stars too. I think it’s time for a reread of these books. Luckily the Simon vs. movie is coming out this year though. It’ll give me a little bit of a refresher even if movies aren’t exactly the same as their books.

legioncrystalstormthesongrisinghollowcitydarkestminds

Legion by Julie Kagawa
Crystal Storm by Morgan Rhodes
The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon
Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

These are some of my all-time favorite series and series that I need to finish, but I just can’t remember most of what happened! The Talon series (Legion) and the Falling Kingdoms series (Crystal Storm) are both finishing this year though, so that’s pretty exciting. I just have to reread or find recaps, sigh. Part of the reason why I haven’t read Library of Souls yet is because I don’t remember much of what happened in Miss Peregrine’s and Hollow City, so I keep putting it on hold.

What are some books you really liked, but can’t remember much or anything about them? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link me to your posts!

Top ten books I meant to read in 2017, but didn’t get to.

Hey!

FYI, it’s been over seven months since I’ve done a TTT post! I want to try to do more this year. Anyway, onto the topic for today. Ten books that I meant to read in 2017, but didn’t get to. There are SO MANY books that I wanted to read in 2017, but didn’t get a chance to. Narrowing this down to just ten is going to be pretty difficult, but let’s get started!

hiddenoracletheafterlifedimplethecrownsfatesixofcrows

Some of these I have been wanting to read for so long, like Six of Crows. I’ve had it since it’s release in 2015 and have yet to get to it. UGHH. I’ve also owned almost all of these since their release dates. Hopefully this year! I actually have a buddy read planned in February for When Dimple Met Rishi, so that’s good. I really hope to read all of these this year.

Best Books You’ve Read In 2017 So Far.

Hey!

So far this year I’ve read almost 40 books, which is pretty good. I’ve read a TON of really great books too, so picking 10 books is pretty hard. I did it though! 😀 Down below are ten of the best books that I’ve read so far this year. You can check out more of the books that I read this year over here on my blog.

I also really loved the sequel to The Bone Season (The Mime Order) and also the sequel to Nowhere But Here (Walk the Edge). Those were both pretty amazing too. I flew through all of these books when I picked them up. So many feels throughout every single one of these too.

Top Ten Series I’ve Been Meaning To Start But Haven’t

Hi!

The topic for this week is series that I’ve been meaning to start, but haven’t started yet. This list could seriously be endless! I’m going to go with the ones that I own, but haven’t started yet. If I went with the books that I don’t own, then it would FOR SURE be an endless list. I still own quite a bit of series that I haven’t started yet (or at least the first book in so many series). I don’t usually like buying all the books in series before I start them, just in case I end up not liking it. Lately I’ve also been trying to stay clear of buying any new books, so most of these on my list will be older series. ANYWAY…onto the books!

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardguo

I also want to read Victoria Schwab’s other books and Marie Lu’s other books as well. I own them too. I own way too many, haha. There really isn’t any excuse why I haven’t read these books since I own them, haha. It’s the result of buying way too many books and them getting buried at the end of the pile. I’m finding it harder lately to start a new series when I have other series I still need to finish. I start feeling guilty about starting a new one when I have so many unfinished ones to read, but I’m not in the mood to finish these other ones yet, sigh. The cycle is endless, so I read more standalones instead lately, LOL.

Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your TTT posts, so I can check them out! 😀

Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To (But TOTALLY plan to).

Hello! 🙂

There are so many books that I meant to read in 2016, but never got around to them. This could probably be an almost endless post, hah. I am going to go with 2016 releases that I own that I meant to read, but didn’t. There are still SO MANY 2016 releases that I don’t own yet (and dying for).

When I look back on the list of books that I did read in 2016, it kind of depresses me, lol. I feel like I could have read better books than I actually did. I have no clue why I didn’t read these books last year, but I definitely want to try to make them top priority this year. One that I know for sure I will be reading soon is Crystal Storm. I hope to have that read this month. I just need to finish The Crown’s Game first, which is another 2016 release that I meant to read but didn’t.

Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To For The First Half Of 2017.

Hey! 🙂

I can’t wait for 2017, because there are so many books coming out that I am dying to get my hands on. It’s so hard to narrow it down to just ten books, but I did and here they are! All linked to their Goodreads page.

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth (Jan 17)
Caraval by Stephanie Garber (Jan 31)
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (Feb 28)
Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner (Mar 7)
The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli (Apr 11)

New Veronica Roth, DUH!  I loved the Divergent series so much and I can’t wait to see what Roth has up her sleeves next. Carve the Mark also sounds really good. Caraval sounds so amazing and I have been dying to get my hands on it. I think The Hate U Give is going to be a very important book and I am dying to read it. I LOOOOOVED The Serpent King more than life and I need Goodbye Days, ASAP! I also really loved Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and I can’t wait to check out Becky’s new book, The Upside of Unrequited.

Bang by Barry Lyga (Apr 18)
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia (May 30)
Renegade Red by Lauren Bird Horowitz (Mar 14)
The End of Oz by Danielle Paige (Mar 14)
Umberland by Wendy Spinale (May 9)

New Barry Lyga, DUH! I am obsessed with his Jasper Dent (I Hunt Killers) series and I need to read ALL OF HIS BOOKS! I own them all, but haven’t gotten around to reading the other books he wrote…yet! But I know I will be snatching Bang up ASAP! I loved Zappia’s book Made You Up and I am so stoked to read her new book Eliza and Her MonstersRenegade Red, ahhhhh! I can’t wait to read this one. You all know how much I LOVE Shattered Blue and with the crazy cliffhanger at the end, I am dying to read RR! Renegade Red also comes in three different book covers!! It’s gonna be so fun collecting them all. Another Dorothy Must Die book, yes please! I love Danielle’s DMD series and I can’t wait to get my hands on The End of Oz. And Umberland….first, the book cover is AMAZING! Second, Everland (the first book) was a steampunk retelling of Peter Pan and it was awesome. I am pretty sure Umberland is a Alice in Wonderland retelling and I am freaking stoked!

Are you looking forward to any of these books on my list? What books releases are you looking forward to in the first half of 2017? Feel free to link me to your posts!

Ten Books I’ve Added To My To-Be-Read List Lately

Hey!

It’s been awhile since I have done a Top Ten Tuesday post, so I figured why not. I usually do a similar post like this on Fridays of books I add to my TBR throughout the week. Finidng new books is a good thing and a bad thing, lol. There are SO many books that I want to read and my bank account hates me for it, haha. These are books I added to my Goodreads TBR shelf and not my actual owned books TBR. You can see more of my TBR over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

Ten Books You’d Buy Right This Second If Someone Handed You A Fully Loaded Gift Card

Hey!

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday post! I think my last one was in the middle of June, oops! Today’s topic is ten books that I would buy right this second if someone handed me a fully loaded gift card; I am going to go with books that are already released for this post.

paperandfireridersviciousrebelofthesandswearetheants

Paper and Fire by Rachel Cline
Riders by Veronica Rossi
Vicious by V.E. Schwab
Rebel of the Sands by Alywn Hamilton

Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
And I Darken by Kiersten White
Ivory and Bone by Julie Eshbaugh

This post was actually really hard to do with books that are already released. I feel like I already own a lot of the books that I really want to read that are out in the world already. There are a ton of books that I read and loved that I don’t own physical copies of, because I read them on my Kindle. Here are some of those series/books that I read and don’t own physical copies of that I want to buy right now!

The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth
The Hunger Games (Book 1) by Suzanne Collins
The Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness
Percy Jackson & the Olympians by Rick Riordan
The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan
Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes

If you were handed a fully loaded gift card right now, what books would you buy? Feel free to link me to your post, so I can check them out!

Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For The Second Half Of The Year

Hi 🙂

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday post. The topics this year haven’t been too appealing to me, but the topic this week is a good one. There has been so many interesting sounding books that have released this year and so many that will be releasing later this year. So many that I still need to get! So many that I still need to read. Including so many from last year, lol. Here are ten books that I am really looking forward to getting throughout the second half of this year.

Yoon_9780553496680_jkt_all_r1.indditendswithuscrystalstormreplicathefevercode

The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon (11/1)
It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover (8/2)
Crystal Storm by Morgan Rhodes (12/13)
Replica by Lauren Oliver (10/4)
The Fever Code by James Dashner (9/27)

I loved Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon so much, so I definitely can’t wait to get my hands on her new book. I am obsessed with CoHo, so her new book is a must buy for me. I also am in love with the Falling Kingdoms series and I can’t wait to get my hands on Crystal Storm. I NEED IT NOOOOW! Replica sounds like it’s going to be pretty amazing and the books is told in two different perspectives/stories and the book flips around. You can read each story separately or simultaneously. I love The Maze Runner series and I can’t wait for The Fever Code.

everthehuntedstealingsnowthediabolicstrangethedreamerharrypottercursedchild

Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill (12/27)
Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige (9/20)
The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid (11/1)
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor (9/27)
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling (7/31)

I really enjoyed the Dorothy Must Die series so far and I can’t wait to check out Danielle Paige’s new series Stealing Snow. I love retellings and I can’t wait to see how this new series turns out. Ever the Hunted, The Diabolic, and Strange the Dreamer all just sound like they will be amazing and I need to get my hands on them ASAP! And of course thew new Harry Potter book, that’s a must. I read the series (and watched the movies) for the first time last year and overall loved the series (and movies) so much!

What are some of your most anticipated releases throughout the rest of this year? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

I hope you have a great day!

March 15: Ten Books On My Spring TBR.

Hi! 🙂

I normally try to stay away from TBRs, because I tend to never stick with them. Instead I am going to list ten books that I own that I really want to read soon (or at some point this year). I feel too much pressure to stick to TBRs and it takes the fun out of reading for me, so I’ve been trying to stay away from making them. Anyway, onto the books!

20758105glass sword14061957theswordofsummer19542841

Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
Ruin & Rising by Leigh Bardugo
The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan
More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera

10576365181902082371927024120519illuminae

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman
Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff

I actually own so many books and choosing ten that I really want to read soon was so hard. I’ve been pretty much just hoarding books for a year, lol. I have a ton of really great ones (hopefully) that I meant to read and never got around to doing so. They probably have layers and layers of dust on them. I also have those that I just really want to read and lots of series I need to finish. I actually want to try to make it a point this year to finish series I started and catch up on the recent books in those series if they aren’t complete yet.

What are some of the books on your Spring TBR? Have you read any of the ones on my list? Let me know and please feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

I’ll have my California trip post up sometime this week. I still need to go through all my pictures and decide which ones to post. I took tons, so I don’t want to post every single one lol. Off to work for me!

I hope you have a good day!

Top Ten Books I’ve Recently Added To My TBR.

Hi 🙂

First off, thank you guys for all the comments on my last post about my blog turning one! I am so grateful for every single one of you. Hopefully I can get around to replying to each comment soon!

I usually do a Friday Finds post, which is showing you what I add to my TBR every week. So it was actually a little bit harder for me to do this post, because I honestly haven’t been looking for many books to add to my TBR lately. Trying to stay focused on the books that I own!

Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay
Fixing Delilah by Sarah Ockler
Heartless by Marissa Meyer
The Loose Ends List by Carrie Firestone
The Memory Book by Lara Avery

It may not (or maybe it is) be a surprise to a lot of you that I really have not been enjoying the Lunar Chronicles. I still want to give Heartless a chance though, because I love Alice in Wonderland and I’m interested to see how Marissa Meyer does this. Also, isn’t the book cover lacking a bit….or maybe A LOT? I was recommended the Dexter series since I loved Jasper Dent so much, so I am very interested in reading that one!

In a World Just Right by Jen Brooks
The Islands at the End of the World by Austin Aslan
The Last Best Days of Summer by Valerie Hobbs
The Weight of Water by Sarah Crossan
They All Fall Down by Roxanne St. Claire

A lot of these five do not have the best ratings in the world, but they all sound really interesting, so I want to check them out for myself. I am hoping I like them more than a lot of other people over on Goodreads have. We’ll see what happens with that. I’ll keep you posted! 😛

You can see more books that I have added to my TBR over on my Goodreads account. Feel free to add me! 🙂 Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know and link me to your posts! I may not necessarily NEED to add more books to my TBR, but…I know I want to! HAHA.

I have a couple reviews coming your way in the next week or so; be on the look out for those! I also have a few tags coming up as well. This week is going to be a little bit crazy for me and I can already tell! I apologize if I am not as active as I usually am this week. Hopefully after this week I can get back into the swing of things. I still need to do some MAJOR organizing of my blog and all my posts (upcoming/future posts) and I think because I haven’t done that, it’s just been overwhelming me. That should hopefully change soon! Feel free to check out some of my recent posts linked down below.

Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn’t.

Hi 🙂

I went book buying crazy like I have mentioned so many times in 2015. It may be a little hard to believe that there were actually some books that I didn’t get! 😛 Actually quite a bit, to be honest. Here are ten of those books that were released in 2015 that I meant to buy, but never got around to doing so.

Paperweight by Meg Haston
Willful Machines by Tim Floreen
Blood and Salt by Kim Liggett
Immaculate by Katelyn Detweiler
Poet Anderson…of Nightmares by Tom Delonge

Things I Can’t Explain by Mitchell Kriegman
Armada by Ernest Cline
A Curious Tale of the In-Between by Lauren DeStefano
A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston
Forget Tomorrow by Pintip Dunn

I am really sad that I didn’t snatch these up in 2015, because they all sound so good and the covers are all gorgeous! They are some of the ones that I am really looking forward to reading too. So hopefully this year I can grab copies of these! 🙂

Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know and link me to your posts!

I hope you have a great Tuesday!

Top Ten Resolutions We Have For 2016 (can be bookish, personal resolutions, “I resolve to finally read these 10 books, series I resolve to finish in 2016, etc.)

Hi 🙂

I am not entirely sure how I want this post to go, so warning that it may be all over the place and possibly really random. This will be a mix between bookish, personal, and blogging resolutions.

In 2016 I want to…

Get organized in both my personal life and the blogosphere.  I think I did pretty good for my first year of blogging, but I think with a little more organization I can do even better. I am also completely NOT organized in my personal life. Sometimes I don’t even know how I am even an adult, lol. The boyfriend and I always say how we’re not proper adults. I’m on the hunt for the perfect planner in the hopes that it will help.

Drop the TBRs and read whatever I am in the mood for. I’ve recently noticed that when I make TBRs, I don’t stick to them. I get pressured to read those books because I said I would read them. Making monthly TBRs puts me in BIG reading slumps. I want to avoid as many unnecessary reading slumps as I can. I want to read ALL THE BOOKS, but these sneaky reading slumps get in the way.

Buy less books, because I am drowning in books and not enough bookshelf space! I want to try to buy less and read what I already have. I need to stop buying so many books, especially if I know that I don’t plan on reading them right away. It will also save me money in the long run, lol. Here’s a fun fact that is probably not really fun; I have maybe 300 physical books (give or take & not counting ebooks) and I only owned 20 of those physical books BEFORE 2015. So there you go…the majority of those were bought IN 2015.

Save more and spend less. I have spent so much money in 2015 that it left me stressed out by time the end of the year hit. The boyfriend and I are currently doing the 52 week money saving challenge, so by the end of 2016 we should have about $2600 saved! I am trying to get my butt to Hawaii! *waves* Hi Lauren & Ninja!! I am actually really excited about this money saving challenge, so I think this will be what makes me stick to it!

Finish older books that are collecting dust on my bookshelves. I bought so many books in 2015 that the majority of the ones that I really wanted to read are now collecting dust. I am excited for the read my books challenge, so I can finally get around to some of those. Some of my highly anticipated 2015 reads are still sitting on my shelves unread. It’s the saddest thing, really.

Add more variety on my blog. There are so many days where I have no idea what to write about. I dread those days, because I love blogging and it’s sad when I have nothing to say. I also start feeling guilty and then blogging starts to feel like a chore. I never want it to feel like a chore, because then it’s no longer fun for me. I’m sure I have tons to say if I really think about it.

Finish my unfinished series, because I know I started a bunch of series in 2015 and never continued with them. I used to never do this by the way. I used to read every single book in the series before moving onto something else. Now I read a book from the series and then start something else and it’s a bad habit, considering most books coming out it seems are part of a series.

Declutter my entire apartment and probably my entire life, really.  I am head to toe (not literally, but maybe close) of things I probably haven’t even touched in years. I am pretty sure I am subconsciously driving myself insane with how much a mess everything is. I think I’ll have a huge weight lifted off me (and my apartment) once that happens. I think I’ll be able to sleep better at night knowing my closet isn’t stuffed full of nonsense.

Physically read more books rather than listen to tons of audiobooks. This year I listened to over 70 audiobooks and actually read myself 56 books. That’s not bad, but I want to read MORE on my own! This does not mean I will be giving up audiobooks altogether. I could never do that now that I discovered how amazing it is! I think it’ll also help more with getting my physically owned books read as well. Like I mentioned above, I have A LOT (not counting the over 200 e-books)! I told you I’m drowning in books you guys!

Be healthier and that means eating better (pizza all the time is not cutting it, although I wish it were) and exercising! I’m actually reading this Dr. Phil book he came out with last year I believe (The 20/20 Diet) and I may be a sucker for buying it, but for the next month I will be eating almonds and lentils and praying I survive. 😛 There’s more, but that about sums up the type of food that I can eat, haha. We’ll see. I still need to finish the book and get this thing started! It’s supposed to change my thinking too, so we’ll see about that because I still prefer pizza every day.

What are some of your resolutions for 2016? Let me know and link me to your TTT posts!

Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year.

Hi! 🙂

How about ALL THE BOOKS, Santa!? There are so many books that I really want both new and old. Here are some of the ones that I would love for Santa to leave under my Christmas tree this year.

Paperweight by Meg Haston
Reawakened by Colleen Houck
Rebel Mechanics by Shanna Swendson
Forget Tomorrow by Pintip Dunn
Willful Machines by Tim Floreen

Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld
Cut Both Ways by Carrie Mesrobian
Blood and Salt by Kim Leggett
It’s a Wonderful Death by Sarah J. Schmitt
Truest by Jackie Lea Sommers

I am pretty in love with all of these book covers too. If Santa can just bring me all of these books, then I would be one happy girl on Christmas! Even some Amazon gift cards wouldn’t hurt. 😛

And because I was extra good this year; feel free to throw in the Harry Potter Coloring Book, Santa!

It’s a short week for me, so no work on Friday! 😀 I think I will be having a picture post coming soon! I have lots of pictures to share with you all! So be on the look out for that. I am currently in the middle of reading Cress (yes still, sadly) and Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn (an eARC). I am hoping to get these both done before the month is over! So expect a review on Firsts to come! 🙂

I hope you have an amazing Tuesday! ❤

Top Ten Best Books I Read In 2015.

Hi!

I have read and listened to so many books this year, which has been so exciting! I’m really excited to share with you ten of my favorite books that I read in 2015. It wasn’t easy picking just ten!

ihuntkillerstheknifeofsimonvs2595360322328546

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga – Actually, the entire series! It’s one of my top favorites now. There was never a dull moment and it was pretty intense! The things that happened were crazy and so unpredictable. So many OMG moments.

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness – Words can’t even explain how much I loved this book. It broke my heart into a million pieces and I still haven’t put it completely together again. I can’t wait to finish the series next year.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli – Simon ❤ I don’t even I ever stopped smiling while reading this book. Becky did such an amazing job with writing it. I still thinking about Simon and Blue all the time.

Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz – Lauren is my girl! Love her! I also loved her book so much. It was so hard to put down and there were so many twists and things going on. There is also some awesome poetry as well! A whole new take on the Fae! I still can’t get over the ending and I can’t wait to see more from Lauren!

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard – Red Queen was so fantastic! I couldn’t put into words how much I liked it. I had to use gifs in my review of this book. I wasn’t expecting any of the things that happened in this book and it was exciting. I am dying for the next one!

dumplineverythingeverything115002171766141618525657

Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy – HIGH FIVE for Julie! Willowdean will forever be engraved in my mind and heart forever. I enjoyed this book so much and it really got me thinking about myself. Forever rooting for Willow!

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – The cutest book ever. Seriously, it’s so cute I can’t stand it! 😛 I loved everything about this book. Everything, Everything was in fact everything!

Angelfall by Susan Ee – Actually, the entire series for this one as well! Susan Ee is amazing, end of story. This series was amazing! From beginning to end. It also had it’s creepy factor, which was awesome! So different from anything I’ve read.

Made You Up by Francesca Zappia – Magic Eight ball, is this book amazing? WITHOUT A DOUBT! I flew threw this book, because it was that good. It was hard to get back to normal life when reading this book. So well written, love the characters, loved everything about it really.

Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend by Katie Finn – I also loved the second book and novella in this series as well. Broken Hearts was so fun to read. Lots of surprises, lots of laughs, and lots of “OMG”. The ending was a total shocker. I can’t wait for the last book in the series. You Morgan Matson fans might love this since Katie Finn IS Morgan Matson. 😛

What are some of the best books you read in 2015? Let me know and link me to your posts!

I hope you have a great day!
