Friday Finds #76.

fridayfinds

These are books that I have added to my Goodreads TBR shelves. I don’t own them (YET), but they are books that I really want to read one day!

Hey!

I have four books to share with you this week that all sound like they are going to be pretty awesome reads! The covers for all of these books are so amazing as well as how they sound. 😛 I’ve included the book descriptions below as well. You can see more of my TBR over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

wildandcrooked

Wild and Crooked by Leah Thomas

Goodreads Description: In Samsboro, Kentucky, Kalyn Spence’s name is inseparable from the brutal murder her father committed when he was a teenager. Forced to return to town, Kalyn must attend school under a pseudonym . . . or face the lingering anger of Samsboro’s citizens, who refuse to forget the crime. Gus Peake has never had the luxury of redefining himself. A Samsboro native, he’s either known as the “disabled kid” because of his cerebral palsy, or as the kid whose dad was murdered. Gus just wants to be known as himself. When Gus meets Kalyn, her frankness is refreshing, and they form a deep friendship. Until their families’ pasts emerge. And when the accepted version of the truth is questioned, Kalyn and Gus are caught in the center of a national uproar. Can they break free from a legacy of inherited lies and chart their own paths forward?

howitfeelstofloat

How It Feels to Float by Helena Fox

Goodreads Description: Biz knows how to float. She has her people, her posse, her mom and the twins. She has Grace. And she has her dad, who tells her about the little kid she was, who loves her so hard, and who shouldn’t be here but is. So Biz doesn’t tell anyone anything. Not about her dark, runaway thoughts, not about kissing Grace or noticing Jasper, the new boy. And she doesn’t tell anyone about her dad. Because her dad died when she was six. And Biz knows how to float, right there on the surface–normal okay regular fine. But after what happens on the beach–first in the ocean, and then in the sand–the tethers that hold Biz steady come undone. Dad disappears, and with him, all comfort. It might be easier, better, sweeter to float all the way away? Or maybe stay a little longer, find her father, bring him back to her. Or maybe–maybe maybe maybe–there’s a third way Biz just can’t see yet.

theartoftaxidermy

The Art of Taxidermy by Sharon Kernot

Goodreads Description: Lottie collects dead creatures and lovingly cares for them, hoping to preserve them, to save them from disintegration. Her father understands—Lottie has a scientific mind, he thinks. Her aunt wants it to stop, and she goes to cruel lengths to make sure it does. And her mother? Lottie’s mother died long ago. And Lottie is searching for a way to be close to her. The Art of Taxidermy is a heartbreaking verse novel exploring love and death, grief and beauty, and the ways we try to make sense of it all.

wecontainmultitudes
We Contain Multitudes by Sarah Henstra

Goodreads Description: Jonathan Hopkirk and Adam “Kurl” Kurlansky are partnered in English class, writing letters to one another in a weekly pen pal assignment. With each letter, the two begin to develop a friendship that eventually grows into love. But with homophobia, bullying, and devastating family secrets, Jonathan and Kurl struggle to overcome their conflicts and hold onto their relationship…and each other.

Friday Finds #73.

fridayfinds

Hey!

It’s been three months since I’ve done one of these posts and over the last few months I have added a TON of books to my Goodreads TBR shelves. Today I am sharing ten out of probably hundred of ones I added since my last post. LOL. 😛 I think I am going to start doing this post more frequently again, because I added so many and want to share them.

These are all books that I added to my good reads “TBR” shelf, but do not own (yet) or are not released yet. There won’t be book descriptions this time since I am posting ten books, but I will link them all to Goodreads, so you can check them out! You can see more of my TBR over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend.

Sadie by Courtney Summers
Southernmost by Silas House
The Benefits of Being an Octopus by Ann Braden

She Loves You (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah) by Ann Hood
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White
Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage
The Splintered Silence by Kayla Olson
Any Second by Kevin Emerson

Jeff Zentner has talked about Southernmost so much on social media, so I had to add it to my TBR. If Zentner loves it, then I need to be reading it. So far his recommendations haven’t failed me. A book about the Beatles (She Loves You) and a Frankenstein retelling (The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein), I’m here for it! These other books listed all sound so good and I am really stoked for them all.

Thank you for all the comments on my last post. I really needed to vent all of that out and I’m still working on what to do. I’ll reply back soon and catch up with your posts when I get some free time today. 🙂

FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased). Hosted by Babs at Babs Book Bistro*All linked to Goodreads*

Hi!

It was a pretty good week. I started Illuminae, which has been on my bookshelf since around release day last year and now I am finally reading it. I did an audiobook reread of An Ember in the Ashes. I still love it and cannot wait to get my hands on A Torch Against the Night! I also finished a couple of other books as well. I didn’t add a whole lot to my Goodreads TBR shelves this week, but I think that is a good thing. I’m already drowning in books that I own that I need to read and books that I don’t own that I want to read and buy, lol.

Here are some of the books that I added to my Goodreads TBR shelves this week. You can see more of my TBR list over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

Hi 🙂

I’ve been adding so many books to my Goodreads TBR over the last year and a half and I decided to go through them and delete a ton of books that I probably wouldn’t read or that I didn’t really remember what they were about. I also deleted some older books that I still haven’t read and didn’t feel like I would ever get around to them. So although my Goodreads TBR lists are still quite large, they are not as large as they were before lol. By the way, I really need to do this with the books (and e-books) that I own too. I know I have gotten so many that at one time I knew I wanted to read, but now my opinions have changed on some.

Anyway, this is a Friday Finds post. So even though I did get rid of some books off my Goodreads TBR lists, I did add some new ones to the lists. Here are some of the books that I added to my Goodreads TBR shelves this week. You can see more of my TBR list over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

Have you added any new books to your TBR? Feel free to link me to your posts if you have one.

I recently mentioned that I was moving to a new place with more space. In the move I gained a little reading room (well area since it’s opened) just for myself and all my books! I’m still working on it, especially clearing the clutter off of my bookshelves, but here it is. In a few months or so I plan to also get some new bookshelves. I want shelves that match and I want white shelves. For now this is fine though.

Hi 🙂

I haven’t done a Friday Finds post in almost a month, so I definitely have some books to share with you guys! I think I’ll get right into them! You can see more of my TBR list over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

Pull by Anny Riley
The Soultakers by Christina L. Rozelle
Fire in the Stars by Isabella Rogge
The 8th Journal by Nicole Parris
Burning by Danielle Rollins

The Six by Mark Alpert
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
The Great Hunt by Wendy Higgins
Whisper to Me by Nick Lake
Feeling Sorry for Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty

I am so excited for a new year of reading! I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things and these ten books look and sound like some really awesome reads! They all have such amazing book covers as well, so that is also so exciting! 😀

Have you added any new books to your TBR this week? If so, let me know and link me to your posts!

I finally finished Cress by Marissa Meyer and I drew my first book from my TBR this year! I let myself draw two books and the books chosen were A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin and Winger by Andrew Smith. I decided to try them both out and see which one I really want to read. A Game of Thrones is a little intimidating though, so I may end up reading Winger instead. Anyway, so glad it is Friday and now I must get to work!

I hope you have an awesome Friday!
