Book Haul|| September.

Hey!

The last two or three months I’ve been doing a combined wrap up and book haul, but I decided to do it separate this month because I actually bought more books than I have been the last few months. I felt my September book haul needed its own post, haha. I don’t have too much to say and will save it for my wrap up, so I am going to just jump right into my haul.

You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I still need to update it since earlier this year was the last time I did…one day lol. I know I keep saying it, but I swear it’ll happen. 😛 But anyway, here are the books that I got in September.

Print Books:

timewilltellthirteenswhataboutwillhideandseekerwytches

Time Will Tell by Barry Lyga
Thirteens by Kate Alice Marshall
What About Will by Ellen Hopkins
Hide and Seeker by Daka Hermon
Wytches by Scott Snyder

I’m surprised I bought five books this month since I haven’t been buying too many print books this year. I’ve been a lot pickier these days because there are lots of times where I don’t end up reading them right away. I’m sooo guilty of that lol. Probably why WAY MORE than half of the books on my shelves right now are unread. Time Will Tell is a Barry Lyga book and I always buy his books because I LOVED his I Hunt Killers series so much. I haven’t read all of his other books yet (told you I buy books that sit on my shelves for a long time :P), but I like to have them all for when that time comes that I finally want to read, haha. What About Will sounded really good, so I wanted that. I have a love/hate for Ellen Hopkins though. Some books are hits and some are misses for me. Hopefully this is a hit, because I’m pretty sure her last one was a miss. I bought Thirteens, Hide and Seeker, and Wytches for my Halloween themed TBR for October. I plan to post my Halloweenie TBR soon, so you’ll see these on the list along with a bunch more. 🙂

E-Books:

gothedistancepartofyourworldreflectionlovecommentsubscribe

Go the Distance by Jen Calonita
Part of Your World by Liz Braswell
Reflection by Elizabeth Lim
Love, Comment, Subscribe by Cathy Yardley

I really want to read all of these Disney retellings, so I had to get Go the Distance, Part of Your World, and Reflections when I saw them on sale this month. I own most of the series in e-book, but a couple of the books in the series I have physical copies. Eventually I’ll get around to reading them. 😛 I can’t wait to read them! Love, Comment, Subscribe was free with Amazon Prime First Reads. It sounded good, so I decided to pick that one as my free book.

What new books did you get in September? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I plan to do some blog hopping this week since it has been a little bit since I last did that. I am super stoked to catch up with your posts and probably fill my forever long TBR with more book recommendations from you! Feel free to link me to any posts you want me to check out in case I miss them when I go blog hopping. I’ll have my September wrap up posted soon soon (possibly tomorrow) and like I mentioned above, my Halloweenie TBR will be coming soon too. 👻

I hope you have a great day!

Book Haul & Wrap Up|| August.

Hey!

Happy September! That means I can start decorating for Halloween, right? 🎃 So close to my favorite spooky month! I am hoping to make a trip to Target this weekend in the hopes that they have their Halloween decor out. I NEED more! Target always has some really great holiday decor, so hopefully I find some new things I like for this year. I have a couple ideas of what I am looking for and I am hoping they have it. August was a busy month for me. I was finishing up my photography class (which I loved) and then I was able to go visit my family for a weekend. I spent lots of time playing Stardew Valley because once again, this game is addicting. And I got back into diamond painting again. I’m off and on with it. I’ll be really obsessed and do it ALL THE TIME and then I won’t do it for a long, long time until I pick it up again haha. I’ve also been working and got extended at my job to the end of November, which is great.

As you can see from the title of this blog post, I decided to once again combine my book haul and wrap up post together because they are both pretty small for August as well. As you’ve probably seen in the past, I usually do them in separate posts. I will first start with my August book haul and then get into my wrap up after that! I didn’t get many books this month. I believe it was only just six books. Three print books and three e-books. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I haven’t updated that page since early February though (I really need to find some time to do this. I’m slacking, sigh.), so an update for that is coming soon. But anyway, here are the books that I got in August.

Books I Bought:

freshinthewildlightiwasbornforthis

Fresh by Margot Wood (print)
In the Wild Light by Jeff Zentner (print)
I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman (print)

trialsofmorrigancrowthechildrensblocktheyearofthewitching

The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend (e-book)
The Children’s Block by Otto Kraus (e-book)
The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson (e-book)

Fresh and In the Wild Light were two of my August pre-orders and I am really looking forward to reading them; especially Jeff Zentner’s new book. I always love his books, so I’m excited! I buy pretty much all of Alice Osemen’s books, so I decided to buy I Was Born for This since I didn’t have it yet and I want to read all her books before the year ends. The last three are e-books. I’ve been wanting these e-books to go on sale and I was stoked to see them on sale in July! 🙂 I am so stoked to read them. The Trials of Morrigan Crow looks and sounds good, so I had to get it when I saw it on sale. I read a couple chapters of The Children’s Block and hopefully will get back into it soon. I ended up not being in the mood for it, so I put it down for now. But so far what I read I liked. Might include The Year of the Witching in my spooky TBR for October.

And now for my wrap up! You can find a full list of the books that I read this month and the other books I read throughout the year over here. All will be linked to Goodreads below and I will also link to individual blog posts for them if I did a review. Here are the books that I read and listened to in August.

Books I Read:

isntitbromanticsomekindofwonderlandarsenicandadobo

Isn’t It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams (audiobook) (5 out of 5 stars)
Some Kind of Wonderland by Tara St. Pierre (e-book) (4 out of 5 stars)
Arsenic and Adobo by Mia P. Manansala (audiobook) (3 out of 5 stars)

Once again I didn’t read as much as I wanted to, but I was able to finish two books that I started in July and one other. Isn’t It Bromantic? was AMAZING! ❤ I loved it so much. I am so stoked we were finally able to get the Russian’s story and it was so gooood. Some Kind of Wonderland was really good and I had fun reading it. I loved all the Alice in Wonderland references and spin on it. I’ll link my review at the end of this post, so you can check it out for more about it. I’ve been seeing Arsenic and Adobo around, so I decided to give it a chance since my library had the audiobook available. It was good, but I didn’t love it. It kept my attention and at times was quite interesting, but I guessed who the killer was pretty fast and wasn’t that surprised. It was neat that they give some recipes from the book at the end!

That’s all for my August wrap up and book haul! 🙂 Feel free to link me to your wrap up posts or book haul posts, so I can check them out. I did some blog hopping yesterday and was able to finally catch up with some of your posts. ❤ If you think I missed any important blog posts, send me a link and I’ll make sure to go look at it. 🙂

In case you missed it;

Book Haul & Wrap Up|| July.

Hey!

I usually do my book hauls and wrap ups separately, but I decided to combine them for July because both are pretty small for my July post. Honestly, the last thing I was really thinking about was books in July. I was busy with work, then my photography class (which is still going until the middle of August), and I got REALLY obsessed with Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch (I still am). My time and my mind were elsewhere and has been for the last few months; especially in July. Because of that, I wasn’t really around on the blogosphere much at all either. I think I blog hopped once, which is sad because I love reading your posts. I just have other things going on right now. It’s not that I don’t want to be here, because I DO! My mind has just been elsewhere and I don’t really know how to explain that. 😦 I’ll be catching up with your posts at some point soon though.

I want to talk about my photography class really quick though. I’ve been having a lot of fun in the class and I am glad I got out of my comfort zone to take part in it. I like learning about about photography and different compositions. It’s also fun getting assignments to take pictures and then sharing them with the class. We even got to go one day as a class out walking around downtown taking pictures. Friendly environment and people too, so that really helps with my social anxiety and not being too freaked out as I usually am. I’ll have to do a post about my experience and share the pictures that I’ve been taking for my assignments. I may even want to do this again, we shall see!

Anyway, let’s talk books now! I will first start with my July book haul and then get into my wrap up after that! I didn’t get many books this month. I think I only got six books, actually. One physical book, two e-books, and then three ARCs from Netgalley. I am super stoked for them all! I especially can’t wait to read the Netgalley ones, so I can finally get some reviews up on my blog again.

Books I Bought

takingofjakesoulmateequationelatsoe

The Taking of Jake Livingston by Ryan Douglass (print)
The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren (e-book)
Elatose by Darcie Little Badger (e-book)

Netgalley

lakesedgebadgirlsneversaydiegilded

Lakesedge by Lyndall Clipstone (09/28/2021)
Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu (10/19/2021)
Gilded by Marissa Meyer (11/02/2021)

And now for my wrap up! So, I didn’t actually get to finish any books on my own in July. What I mean by that is the books that I did read were audiobooks instead of books that I read myself. I was actually bummed out that I didn’t get to finish any of the books I started to read on my own before the month ended. It’s hard to read when you can’t focus. I’m happy I was able to at least listen to some audiobooks though. Below are the two audiobooks that I was able to listen to.

fifteenhundredsunkissed

Fifteen Hundred Miles from the Sun by Jonny Garza Villa (5 out of 5 stars)
Sunkissed by Kasie West (4 out of 5 stars)

I absolutely LOVED Fifteen Hundred Miles from the Sun! It’s probably my favorite book of the year so far and I HIGHLY recommend everyone checking it out. 🙂 It had me laughing and also crying. Sunkissed was a lot of fun and I really related to the main character a lot, actually. I always feel like I’m stuck, doing the same things, because I’m scared to get out there and do other things that are not in my comfort zone. Sometimes not really knowing what I want or who I really am. I really related to that.

I started a couple books in July that I didn’t get the chance to finish reading, so I am really hoping that I do in August. These are the books that I started, but haven’t had the chance to finish yet.

somekindofwonderlandisntitbromantic

Some Kind of Wonderland by Tara St. Pierre (e-book)
Isn’t It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams (audiobook)

So far I like Some Kind of Wonderland and I am excited to finish it (I’m halfway through it now), so I can get my review up on my blog for it. I’m making it priority in August. July was just one big reading slump for me, so I didn’t get the chance to finish reading it. I’m currently listening to the audiobook of Isn’t It Bromantic? and it’s good. I was hoping to finish it before the audiobook got returned to the library, but that didn’t end up happening. I had to put the audiobook back on hold UGHH. I also put the e-book on hold too just in case that gets to me faster than the audiobook. I’m a little over halfway through it and I’m sad I didn’t get to finish it before it got returned.

That’s all for my July wrap up and book haul! I have to get back to work. I will hopefully catch up with your posts this week. 🙂 Feel free to link me to your wrap up posts or book haul posts, so I can check them out. Or link me to any posts you think I should check out ASAP! ❤

I hope you have a great day!

Book Haul|| June.

Hey!

Another month where I was bad with posting on my blog, sigh. I’m in a pretty bad blogging slump right now, honestly. I also think I’m in a reading slump too, but more about that in my wrap up. Today, I am here to share my June book haul, so I am going to just jump right into it. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I haven’t updated that page since early February though (I really need to find some time to do this), so an update for that is coming soon. Here are the books that I got in June…

Print Books:

instructionsfordancingbedazzledgirlswithrebelsoulsstraightontillmorning

Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon
Be Dazzled by Ryan La Sala
Girls with Rebel Souls by Suzanne Young
Straight On Till Morning by Liz Braswell

I always buy Nicola Yoon’s books, so I was excited to get Instructions for Dancing and I love how pretty the cover is. I was able to get Be Dazzled (I love the cover so much), Girls with Rebel Souls, and Straight On Till Morning on sale on Prime Day! I am really excited about all of them, especially Girls with Rebel Souls. It’s book three of the Girls with Sharp Sticks series that I have really enjoyed so far.

Books from Authors/Publishers:

somekindofwonderland

Some Kind of Wonderland by Tara St. Pierre

Tara reached out to me and asked if I would read and review her new book Some Kind of Wonderland. Of course I said yes, because I’ve read her other books in the past and have really liked them. I also love Alice in Wonderland, so I am always excited about a retelling. Hoping to have it read and reviewed in July. I read the first couple chapters and so far I like it.

E-Books:

staygolddarkanddeepestredfatchancecharlievegathirteenstoreys

Stay Gold by Tobly McSmith
Dark and Deepest Red by Anna-Marie McLemore
Fat Chance, Charlie Vega by Crystal Maldonado
Thirteen Storeys by Jonathan Sims

somethinglikesummertheinitialinsultthemixtapethesevendayswitch

Something Like Summer by Jay Bell
The Initial Insult by Mindy McGinnis
The Mixtape by Brittainy Cherry
The Seven Day Switch by Kelly Harms

And last but not least, my e-book haul! I got so many good books on sale and also a few of them for free with the Amazon First Reads program. I am really looking forward to reading all of these, especially Stay Gold since I’ve been wanting to read it for SO LONG now and I finally caught it on sale.

What new books did you get in June? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I am hoping to do some blog hopping this week. I know I am a bit behind with that this month as well. 😦 I’ll catch up though; I always do even if it takes me a little bit. So, you’ll see me around blog hopping at some point this week when I get some time. 🙂 I’ll have my June wrap up soon, although it’s a bit of a disappointment with how much I read and I think everything was three stars. Hopefully July is a better month with staying on top of reading/commenting your posts and doing more posts of my own. Fingers crossed!

I will leave you with a couple pictures of one of my cats (Leaf) playing on my bookshelf. 😛

I hope you have a great day!

Book Haul|| May.

Hey!

I was horrible with posting on my blog in May and I feel so sad about that! It was a busy month for me with work (since I ended up getting extended) and some other random things in my life happening. I really want to get back into things here, but I need to figure out a good balance between life and blog. I did read a lot though and I’ll have my wrap up in the next day or two as soon as I get some more time to work on that post. For today though, I bring you my May book haul! You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I haven’t updated that page since early February though (I really need to find some time to do this), so an update for that is coming soon. Here are the books that I got in May…

Print Books:

listentoyourheartluckofthetitaniclostintheneverwood

Listen to Your Heart by Kasie West
Luck of the Titanic by Stacey Lee
Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas

kateinwaitingpumpkinheartstoppervol4

Kate in Waiting by Becky Albertalli
Pumpkin by Julie Murphy
Heartstopper Volume 4 by Alice Oseman

Another month where I ended up getting quite a few books. I’ve been being a little more picky with the physical books that I buy lately, because I’m trying to be cautious with the way that I spend money right now. I’ve been getting more e-books or borrowing from my library. BUT I had to have all of these books, so I couldn’t help myself and treated myself to some books again this month. I saw Listen to Your Heart at a discount bookstore and decided to get it because I’ve liked Kasie West’s books in the past and it was only $2.99 I believe. Luck of the Titanic and Lost in the Never Woods both sounded really good, so I had to have those. I’ve read almost all of Becky Albertalli’s books, so I decided to get her new one, Kate in Waiting. It also sounds really good to me, so I’m excited for it. Hopefully I like it, because sometimes her books are hit or miss for me. I needed Pumpkin to complete my Dumplin’ series and you guys, the rainbow spine is amazing (see picture below). And of course the new volume of Heartstopper was a MUST. I love the graphic novels so much. I plan to reread the first three this month, so I can read volume four.

E-Books:

10blinddatescursedobjectsawickedandbeautifulgardenafateofwrathandflame

10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston
Cursed Objects by J.W. Ocker
A Wicked and Beautiful Garden by Katie McGarry
A Fate of Wrath & Flame by K.A. Tucker

I did keep my e-book buying to a smaller number again this month. I wasn’t really looking too hard for e-book deals. I couldn’t pass up a new Katie McGarry book or a new K.A. Tucker book. I am really excited about reading both of them. Cursed Objects sounds really cool, so I wanted to get it to read in October as part of my spooky TBR when it comes time to make that. It’s true stories about cursed objects around the world. I’ve been wanting to read 10 Blind Dates for a while now and I saw that it’s perfect for a Christmas themed TBR in December. Thinking ahead for those holiday themed TBRs later in the year. 😛

What new books did you get in May? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

May wrap up coming soon and I will definitely do some blog hopping as well, because it’s been a little bit since I’ve last done that and I want to catch up with you! 🙂 Hoping to have time to blog hope this weekend (or maybe do a little bit at a time after work) since I have meetings at work all week, so not a lot of downtime as I did before when work was slow. And with that, I will leave you with a picture of my bookshelves from early May. I was able to move books to a smaller shelf to make room for new books! It’s definitely not as neat as pictured below anymore haha. I need to rearrange books to fit all my new books that I got this month, so they are kind of just all over the place. 😛

I hope you have a great day!

Book Haul|| April.

Hey!

I know I haven’t done a blog post in a couple weeks and I am so sorry for that! Life happened, so I haven’t really had the chance to be on here. Today I have my April book haul to share with you though! 😀 You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I haven’t updated that page since early February though, so an update for that is coming soon. Here are the books that I got this month…

Print Books:

wheretheroadleadsusechoesbetweenusonlyabreathapartgirlswithrazorhearts

Where the Road Leads Us by Robin Reul
Echoes Between Us by Katie McGarry
Only a Breath Apart by Katie McGarry
Girls with Razor Hearts by Suzanne Young

savethedatebunnyschizojournals

Save the Date by Morgan Matson
Bunny by Mona Awad
Schizo by Nic Sheff
Journals by Kurt Cobain

I didn’t have a chance to take pictures of my own books that I bought, so I used the cover pictures off Goodreads. I haven’t done a Book Outlet in like two years, so I finally decided to do it because I really wanted to Journals. I’ve been wanting to read it for so long now and it was only $8 there versus $22 had I bought it on Amazon. I decided to add some more books to my order, because why not? 😛 I got all of these books on Book Outlet aside from Where the Road Leads Us. That was a pre-order of mine, because I loved Robin’s other book My Kind of Crazy so much. I have an ARC of Girls with Razor Hearts, but I wanted the hardcover copy because I am really enjoying the book series so far. I still need to buy the third book though, so hopefully I’ll do that soon!

I own pretty much every Morgan Matson book, but haven’t read a single one yet haha. I probably shouldn’t have gotten Save the Date because of that, but whatever *shrug*. She wrote a book series under the name “Katie Finn” that I absolutely LOVED so much when I read it years ago, so that is why I always buy her books in the hopes that one day I will finally read them. 😛 I really loved Katie McGarry’s “Thunder Road” series, so I always buy her books. I still need to read all her other books and hopefully soon since I own them all. I guess it’s kind of like the Morgan Matson situation haha. Schzio has been on my wishlist for the longest time now and Bunny sounded good. I meant to read Bunny last year (or could have been early this year) when I checked it out at my library and never did, so maybe now that I own it I finally will.

E-Books:

malorielovealwayswildthenextwife

Malorie by Josh Malerman
Love Always, Wild by A.M. Johnson
The Next Wife by Kaira Rouda

I really liked Bird Box and I am excited to read the sequel Malorie! I had a discount on Amazon and was able to get it for $4.99! Love Always, Wild sounded interesting to me, so I got that one and The Next Wife I was able to get for free with Amazon First Reads. I tried to stay away from many e-books this month since I always get so many and just never really get around to reading them, sigh. I am sure a lot of bookish people can relate to that though. It’s easy to buy them and forget them because you don’t see them. Although, I see the books on my bookshelves every single day and yet I get books from my library still LOL. #bookishproblems haha 😛

What new books did you get in April? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I should have my April wrap up on Monday. I’m still working on it and hope to maybe finish one more book today to add to it, we shall see! I plan to blog hop and catch up on replying to comments then too. I got busy with things at work, so I didn’t have much down time over the last couple of weeks. Time I did have to myself I spent it reading or just relaxing with some of my favorite TV shows. The contract for my job ends today, so I am sadly out of work again after today and I’ll have more down time until I can find another job. So, hopefully that means I’ll be around on the blog more soon. Feel free to link me to any of your posts you think I should check out! I’ll make sure to make those priority when I go blog hopping next week. ❤

Book Haul|| March.

Hey!

I can’t believe it’s the last day of March already! This year has been flying by. Today, I am here to share my March book haul with you. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I haven’t updated that page since early February though, so an update for that is coming soon. Here are the books that I got this month…

Print Books:

yolkruleofwolveswhenvillansrisehaveyouseenthisperson

Yolk by Mary H.K. Choi
Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo
When Villains Rise by Rebecca Schaeffer
Have You Seen This Person? by LJ Roberts

I didn’t have a chance to take pictures of my own books, so that’s why you’re seeing the cover pictures instead. I always preorder all of Mary H.K. Choi’s books, so of course I had to do the same with Yolk. And same goes for Leigh Bardugo! I’m a little disappointed in the book cover for Rule of Wolves though. I thought it would be glossy and shiny like King of Scars, but it’s not. I really love the Market of Monsters series, so I had to buy a copy of the third book, When Villains Rise. I can’t wait to read it soon! I decided to buy Have You Seen This Person? because I love true crime and I don’t read enough of it. I’m always watching TV shows/documentaries and listening to podcasts, so I want to get more into reading true crime too and this one sounds interesting.

E-Books:

connectedsuperfakelovesongincendiarykillertriggerslieswebury

Connected by Rori K. Pierce
Super Fake Love Song by David Yoon
Incendiary by Zoraida Cordova
Killer Triggers by Joe Kenda
Lies We Bury by Elle Marr

Another month of being super picky with the e-books that I buy, which honestly is a good thing. I already have so many I still need to read. 😛 Connected sounded like something I would like. I read Frankly in Love and really enjoyed it, so I figured I would give Super Fake Love Song a try too. Incendiary has been on my Goodreads TBR for a while, so I was happy to finally see it on sale. Killer Triggers, because JOE KENDA! I already read it and really liked it. Lies We Bury was my Amazon Prime First Reads choice for the month. I picked it because it sounded interesting. I’m stoked to read these books, aside from Killer Triggers since I already read it.

What new books did you get in March? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I should have my March wrap up in the next day or two. And I plan to blog hop this week, so I am excited to check out your blog posts. 🙂 Feel free to link me to any that you think I should check out! ❤

Book Haul|| February.

Hey!

Happy March! 🙂 I am here to share my February book haul today. It’s actually a pretty small haul this time. I think I am getting a little more pickier with what I buy these days. Not that that’s a bad thing though, considering I have like 700+ unread books lol. YIKES! I’m working on reading them. One day, one day. 😛 Anyway, shall I get into February book haul? You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books.

Print Books:

1BEF5610-3EB8-4A52-B0F5-7D2E07455007

The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley by Shaun David Hutchinson
Have You Seen Luis Velez? by Catherine Ryan Hyde
Unbirthday by Liz Braswell

I went to a used bookstore in my area and left with The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley, which I have been wanting to read for a while now! I also got Have You Seen Luis Velez? from that same bookstore that trip as well. I read a book by Catherine Ryan Hyde years ago and loved it, so I am excited to check out more of her books. My birthday is on Wednesday (March 3) and my younger sister bought me Unbirthday. It’s an Alice in Wonderland retelling and I love Alice in Wonderland, so I am excited about it! I’ve been really wanting to check out all of the books in the books in this A Twisted Tale series.

E-Books:

theweddinggamesothisislovedeitytheconferenceofthebirds

The Wedding Game by Meghan Quinn
So This is Love by Elizabeth Lim
Deity by Matt Wesolowski
The Conference of the Birds by Ransom Riggs

Small e-book haul this month. There were a ton that I did want to get, but I tried to limit myself as much as possible. The Wedding Game was free with Amazon First Reads. I mentioned wanting to check out all of the books in the A Twisted Tale series and I saw that So This Is Love was on sale, so I got that. I really loved Elizabeth Lim’s series The Blood of Stars (Spin the Dawn), so I am excited to see her take on Cinderella! I’ve been wanting to read the Six Stories series for a while now and I keep buying all of the books when I see them on sale LOL, so that’s why I got Deity. Maybe I’ll finally start it this year? And same goes for The Conference of the Birds. I read the first two books in the Miss Peregrine’s series years ago and I enjoyed them so much, but for whatever reason I never continued with it! I always buy all the e-books when I catch them on sale, because I want to finally finish this series eventually and maybe that will finally be this year. I’ll definitely have to reread the first two books though lol. I started the series in e-book format, so I just continue to buy them in that format.

What new books did you get in February? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

Earlier in the post I mentioned my ridiculous amount of unread books and how I was working on reading them. Well, I decided to redo my TBR jar. It took me FOREVER to finish it because I had to cut and fold 700+ little pieces of paper haha. I’m glad I went with printing, because writing 700+ books, plus cutting & folding would have killed me. 😛 Future books I’ll have to write in, but if I stay on top doing that monthly, then it won’t be so bad!

825BDE40-3C22-4A0B-A3DA-AC51EA27F5C890247D0C-54E2-42AD-9468-C7CE08BF7B79

I am pretty bad with TBR jars, but if anything, it’s a nice little decoration for my bookshelf. I am really hoping to use it as much as possible though. I am hoping that it helps me get to my older books that have been sitting on my bookshelves/Kindle for so long now. So far, I’ve been doing pretty good with choosing one book a month like I have for one of my 2021 reading goals. We’ll see what happens the rest of the year though. 😛

I should have my February wrap up in the next day or two. And I plan to blog hop this week, so I am excited to check out your blog posts. 🙂 Feel free to link me to any that you think I should check out! ❤

Book Haul|| January.

Hey!

Already time for my January book haul? I was going through my spreadsheet where I update all my books I buy and read throughout the year and my book haul for January is actually pretty small! Both in the print books that I bought and the e-books. And you guys know how much I love those e-book deals, but for some reason I just didn’t find too many throughout this month. Anyway, shall I get into little January book haul? You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books.

Print Books:

Some Kind of Happiness by Claire Legrand
The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon

Some Kind of Happiness was kind of like an impulse cover buy? I was scrolling through Pinterest as I usually do when I’m bored and want to pin all the things I will probably never do (haha) and I came across this book. I saw the cover and fell in love, so I decided to look it up on Goodreads to see what it was about. It sounded SO good and I had to have it. The Mask Falling is FINALLY here!! If you didn’t know, I LOVE The Bone Season series, so I had to of course buy the fourth book! I am currently rereading (audiobook reread this time around) the entire series, because it has been FOUR YEARS since the third book was released, so it’s been quite a while. I am having a lot of fun rereading the books though and I can’t wait to dive into this one once I finish. I have SO much love for this series. ❤

E-Books:

untilitfadestattooist

Until It Fades by K.A. Tucker
The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris

How I managed to only get a couple e-books is beyond me, haha. I’ve been wanting to read more of K.A. Tucker’s books after reading The Simple Wild series, so I decided to get Until It Fades because it was on sale for I think $2.99. I’ve also been wanting to read The Tattooist of Auschwitz for a while now, so I decided to get that one too as it was on sale as well.

What new books did you get in January? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

And just because my book haul is so small, I decided to show you my little bookmark haul as well! I couldn’t resist getting these three bookmarks this month. The crime scene tape and mushroom bookmarks are from Rustic Pages Co on Etsy and the Bernie meme one is from The Bookables on Etsy. I have quite a few bookmarks from both of these shops. I really love their Etsy shops.

If you want to see my bookmark collection, let me know! I have hundreds of them, so maybe I can do a post (or a series of posts) about them and where I got them from. I’ve been collecting them since I started this blog, which was six years ago! I don’t buy them as much as I used to, but I do get some from time to time.

My January wrap up post is coming soon, as well as my last post for my star ratings of the books I read in 2020. I got super distracted this weekend with doing house things that I didn’t really have time to work on those posts or blog hop, unfortunately; but I will this week for sure! I think I might come up with a set schedule for when I do blog things, that way it’s all worked out and I make time for my blog and you! ❤

Book Haul|| December.

Hey!

I am a couple days late, but I am here to share with you my December book haul! I mostly bought e-books this month, but I did buy one print book. But anyway, with that, I am going to just jump right into my haul. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I do need to update the pages to add this December haul though.

Print Books I Bought:

Layla by Colleen Hoover

I had to of course by Colleen Hoover’s new book Layla, because I always buy all her books. I am really excited to read it, especially because it’s supposed to be pretty different than what she typically writes. I am hoping to read it this month.

Netgalley:

What Big Teeth by Rose Szabo

I got approved for What Big Teeth on Netgalley, which is exciting! I actually didn’t even request it on there, but I got an email from the publisher with this book saying that I could “read now” on Netgalley if I wanted to, so I accepted because it’s a book on my TBR and sounds so good.

E-Books:

beastforeverwildlobizonathemarriagecode

Beast by Matt Wesolowski
Forever Wild by K.A. Tucker
Lobizona by Romina Garber
The Marriage Code by Brooke Burroughs

theblackflamingoscarslikewingsfakingunderthemistletoealliwantforchristmas

The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta
Scars Like Wings by Erin Stewart
Faking Under the Mistletoe by Ashley Shephard
All I Want for Christmas by Wendy Loggia

I got a decent amount of books on sale this month and a lot of them are books that I’ve been dying to get my hands on, so I’m stoked! I bought the last two Christmas books because I figured I would read a bunch of Christmasy books in December, but nope. 😦 I never did get around to reading these two. There’s always December 2021? 😛

What new books did you get in December? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I’ll have my December wrap up posted in the next day or two, so be on the look out for that. I also have quite a few other posts that I’m working on as well. So, hopefully a bunch of posts will be up during January. 😀 Now that I have a job again, it’s been pretty hard to juggle blogging and work. Once I get used to it again, that should get easier. I am also hoping to find some time this week to catch up with your blogs, comment your posts, and reply to comments.

Book Haul|| November.

Hey!

My book haul for this month is actually pretty small, so with that, I’m just going to jump right into my haul for this month. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books.

Print Books I Bought:

How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black

I of course had to get the novella that goes along with the Folk of Air trilogy, because overall I loved the series (aside from book two not being that great). Again I went with the black Barnes & Noble edition, so it could match the rest of the series. I have the entire series in the black version. 🙂 I can’t wait to read How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories. I was flipping through it a little bit and all the pages have illustrations, which is really cool!

Books from Publishers:

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
Pretending by Holly Bourne

I won a Goodreads giveaway for One Last Stop, which I was so stoked about because I loved Casey’s book Red, White & Royal Blue so much. I was part of the blog tour for Pretending, so I was sent a copy of that. You can check out my review and excerpt of Pretending on my blog. I’ll link those posts at the end of this one.

What new books did you get in November? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I’ll have my November wrap up posted in the next day or two, so be on the look out for that. I promise to blog hop at some point really soon this week to catch up with all of your posts. I know I am a bit behind on doing that; life has been distracting me a bit from being on the blog lately. I start a new job today, so I’ll be a little busy with that for the next month. But I should definitely catch up on your posts in the next few days. Pinky promise from afar! 😛

Book Haul|| October. & New Book Room!

Hey!

Before I jump into my book haul post, I want to show you my new book room! The husband did a pretty awesome job putting in the new flooring and we repainted the walls as well. I wish I took proper before and after pictures of the room, but so that you can get an idea…before we had green walls (it was like a shiny baby green color) and beige carpet. It seriously HAD to go! Now we have grey walls (it has a hint of blue in it) and grey vinyl flooring and it’s so beautiful! 🙂 Here are a couple of pictures…

What do you think? 😀 If you click the pictures, you can see them bigger. I am so stoked and happy with the way that it turned out and now I’m in here pretty much ALL THE TIME. I even traded in watching TV shows on an actual TV to watching them on my laptop just so I can be in here. 😛 Maybe this will motivate me to read more and blog more again! Fingers crossed! I do have some other things to say, but I’m going to save it for my October wrap up that I hope to post either tomorrow or Monday.

So, my October book haul…I’m pretty happy with all the books that I got this month and almost all of them were on sale, so that was nice! 🙂 You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. Anyway, here are the books that I got in October.

Print Books I Bought:

Swamp Thing by Maggie Stiefvater
Wonderland by Juno Dawson
How to Make Friends With the Dark by Kathleen Glasgow
Hold Still by Nina LaCour

I saw a bunch of different previews/illustrations of Swamp Thing, so I really wanted to get it because it looked awesome. I actually read it this month and I’ll talk a little bit about it in my wrap up coming soon. Wonderland is part of the London Trilogy and since I already have the first two books in the trilogy, I decided to get the third as well. Wonderland actually came with a signed bookplate in the book, which was cool. Hopefully I’ll be reading all three really soon! Hold Still and How to Make Friends With the Dark are books that I found at this discount store, but were also on my TBR. I was stoked to get them for $2.99 each!

E-Books:

halloweenseasontheboybetweenspellbreaker

Halloween Season by Lucy A. Snyder
The Boy Between by Josiah Hartley, Amanda Prowse
Spellbreaker by Charlie N. Holmberg

guineverethesewitchesdon'tburntristanstrong

The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White
These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling
Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia

I’m pretty happy with the e-books I got this month. I also tried not to go crazy this month either, so I tried to limit myself a lot. I opted to get Halloween Season as an e-book instead of physical book because it was only $4.99. I was able to get The Boy Between and Spellbreaker free with my Amazon Prime membership. The other three are books that I wanted so bad and they finally were on sale, so I had to get them! Can’t beat $2.99 or less!

What new books did you get in October? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

As I mentioned above, I should have my book wrap up coming tomorrow or Monday. I am hoping to maybe finish one more book or one more audiobook before October ends. We’ll see though since I only JUST started my current read and currently haven’t even started any new audiobooks yet, lol. Wishful thinking, I guess. I’ll also be doing some blog hopping between today and tomorrow. 🙂

Book Haul|| September.

Hey!

I actually forgot all about posting my September book haul, oops! 😛 I was checking out my drafts and saw it there. I think I did pretty good in September by not going too overboard with buying books even though there are SO MANY BOOKS that I really, really want. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I do need to update these pages since it has been a few months. Anyway, here are the books that I got in September.

Print Books I Bought:

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
Meat Market by Juno Dawson
Beetle & the Hollowbones by Aliza Layne

I had Cemetery Boys on pre-order, because it sounded so good and I had to have it. I am super stoked to read it. I have the book Clean by Juno Dawson, which I still have to read, but I really wanted to get Meat Market because it sounds so good. It’s part of the London trilogy and I’m actually waiting on the third book to get here, so I can binge read them all. Beetle & the Hollowbones is a graphic novel that looked so fun and perfect for my October “Halloweenie” TBR. I flipped through some of the pages and I love the illustrations so much. I can’t wait to read it soon.

E-Books:

yousayitfirstroommaiddatemebrysonkeller

You Say It First by Katie Cortugno
Roommaid by Sariah Wilson
Date Me, Bryson Keller by Kevin van Whye

thedawnchorusagoodgirlsguidethehouse

The Dawn Chorus by Samantha Shannon
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

I think I did pretty good with not going to crazy on buying a ton of e-books this month. There were so many that I did want to buy, but again tried to limit myself with the e-book deals. Most of these books are ones that I’ve been wanting for so long now and was happy I finally caught them on sale.

Book Haul|| August.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

Happy Friday! Today, I am bringing you my August book haul. It’s a couple days early, but I don’t plan to get anymore books this month. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. So what did I get this month?

Print Books I Bought:

heartbones

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover

I am still waiting on my copy to get here, but I bought Heart Bones because Colleen Hoover. 😛 I buy and read all of the books she writes. I am really looking forward to reading it soon. I’ve been staying away from reviews and stuff, because I like to go into her books not knowing a single thing. I don’t even know what this book is about. But like I said, I buy and read everything she writes, so I had to get it.

Books from Publishers:

noneshallsleep

None Shall Sleep by Ellie Marney

UPS delivered None Shall Sleep to me yesterday and I was so stoked when I opened the package and seen an ARC of it. I only just wrote about it last week on my blog and now I can read it in September and I can’t wait! 🙂 I believe it has a release date of September 1st, so I will be reading it really soon. Thanks to The Novl for sending it my way!

E-Books:

youdeserveeachotherfindinglaylaunpregnantmurderfunding

You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle
Find Layla by Meg Elison
Unpregnant by Jenni Hendriks, Ted Caplan
#MurderFunding by Gretchen McNeil

Small e-book haul this month. I’m trying to be better about my e-book buying, because they usually sit on my Kindle for a very long time before I ever read them. Luckily, I got these for $1.99/2.99.

What new books did you get in August? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

There are so many books that I really want to buy, but I’ve had to really limit myself this year and stick with just a select few throughout the months. I also use my library quite a bit, so that helps to read those books that I can’t really buy right now. Anyway, I’ll have my August wrap up posted on Monday, so be on the look out for that. Hoping I can finish one more book before then. Fingers crossed! 🙂

Book Haul|| July.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

I don’t have a whole lot to say right now (saving it for my wrap up post), so I am just going to jump right into my July book haul. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books.

Print Books I Bought:

unraveltheduskbeachreadloveless

Unravel the Dusk by Elizabeth Lim
Beach Read by Emily Henry
Loveless by Alice Oseman

I had originally planned to take my own pictures for the books that I bought, but I’m still waiting on Loveless to be delivered (ordered on Book Depository earlier this month), so instead I’m using book covers from Goodreads. I am really excited to read all three of these books, especially Unravel the Dusk because Spin the Dawn was so so good! There’s so much hype surrounding Beach Read and I hope I love it as much as everyone else seems to be. I’m always scared to read super hyped books, because I don’t always love them like I feel like I’m supposed to lol.

E-Books:

felixeverafterstrungoutcamptiny

Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender
Strung Out by Erin Khar
Camp by L.C. Rosen
Tiny by Kim Hooper

I actually managed not to go really crazy with e-book buying! I tried to really limit myself and only buy books that I planned to read right away. I can’t wait to read these books as soon as possible! I am actually currently reading Strung Out and almost finished with it (I should be finished with it today). I really like it, but it’s so heartbreaking and sad too.

What new books did you get in July? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I should have my July wrap up posted over the weekend or on Monday. I’ve been waiting to post it, because I really want to finish Strung Out, so I can include it in my wrap up. I might also try to read a graphic novel today too. We’ll see what happens! I also plan to catch up with your posts from this week over the weekend as well. 🙂

Book Haul|| June.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

It’s that time again to post my June book haul! Most of my book haul are e-books, but I did buy one book this month that was not an e-book. Since I am not currently home (still in Illinois), I don’t have pictures of my own books that I bought this month, so I’m just using the one from Goodreads. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books.

Books I Bought:

burn

Burn by Patrick Ness

I pre-ordered Patrick Ness’ new book Burn, because I love him and have to own everything he writes. I don’t always love his books 100% (I do enjoy them all though), I can’t help but want to read and own everything he writes. I am really stoked to read this one.

Netgalley:

instantkarmaboyfriendmaterial

Instant Karma by Marissa Meyer
Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall

I was so excited when I got approval emails for Instant Karma and Boyfriend Material on Netgalley. They both sound so good and I am stoked to read and review them. It’ll be interesting reading a contemporary novel from Marissa Meyer. I didn’t really love the Lunar Chronicles series, so I’m curious how I will like this one from her.

E-Books:

dontreadthecommentsinfinitenoiseyesnomaybesowellmetwildandcrooked

Don’t Read the Comments by Eric Smith
The Infinite Noise by Lauren Shippen

phantomlimbsopiumhighschoolfindingchikarumblefish

Phantom Limbs by Paula Garner
Opium and Absinthe by Lydia Kang
High School by Sara Quin, Tegan Quin
Finding Chika by Mitch Albom
Rumble Fish by S.E. Hinton

There were so many good deals for e-books this month. These are the ones that I decided to get. It was so hard not to get every single deal that I saw though, haha. A lot of these I have been waiting quite a while for them to go on sale. I can’t wait to read them.

What new books did you get in June? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I will most likely have my June wrap up posted tomorrow. I am crossing my fingers that I finish my current read today before the month ends, so I can include it. I only have about 75 pages left, so I can do it! I just have to stop watching RuPaul’s Drag Race long enough to finish it. I started watching all the seasons of it and I’m now currently on season ten.

I hope you have a great day!

Book Haul|| May.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

Happy Friday! Today I have my May book haul to share with you. I am pretty happy with my haul this month, because it’s full of books that I have been dying to read. I’m going to just jump right into my book haul. Here are the books that I got this month. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. *I am hoping to finally update these pages next month.*

Books I Bought:

A164DA8E-B5B0-4E9F-9418-1707A81D5E2A

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

I love Elizabeth Acevedo’s books, so I had to get a copy of Clap When You Land. I really want to buy all of her other books since I usually listened to the audiobooks from the library for previous ones. I didn’t own a hardcover copy of The Hunger Games, so I decided to get that one since it’s the only one I was missing in hardcover and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was just released this month. I wanted my collection to be complete, lol. The Hunger Games series is what got me into reading fiction/YA. Before I read The Hunger Games series, I pretty much only read non-fiction books.

Books from Publishers:

53EFE88C-330E-43B3-821E-F95A820ED735

Dear Universe by Florence Gonsalves

The Novl sent me a copy of Dear Universe and I am really excited to read it. It sounds good and I love that book cover. Hopefully, I will pick it up soon and get my review posted on my blog.

Netgalley:

whenvillansrise

When Villains Rise by Rebecca Schaeffer

I was approved on Netgalley for When Villains Rise and I was so stoked. I read the first book Not Even Bones a couple years ago and loved it so much. I finally got a copy of the sequel this year and I plan to reread the first book, the sequel, and book three soon. I can’t wait to relive the first book and dive into the rest of the series.

E-Books:

catfishingoncatnetfulldisclosurethecheerleaderseveryotherweekenddarius

Catfishing on Catnet by Naomi Kritzer
Full Disclosure by Camryn Garrett
The Cheerleaders by Kara Thomas
Every Other Weekend by Abigail Johnson
Darius the Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram

I was so happy to see these books on sale, because I’ve been wanting to read them for a while now. I actually already read Catfishing on Catnet and really liked it. I can’t wait for the sequel next year.

What new books did you get in May? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I know I haven’t been blogging as much as I used to, but I am hoping all of that will change soon. I even got a new laptop and maybe that will motivate me to want to blog even more too! The one I currently use is starting to crap out on me and the screen is so small. I am really excited that I was fortunate enough to get a new laptop. Maybe it’ll jump start me wanting to blog even more again. It’ll be nice having a computer that actually works correctly for once, haha. I plan to catch up with your posts and reply to comments as soon as my new laptop gets delivered this weekend. 🙂

By the way, thanks so much for always sticking by me even if my blogging schedule and blog hopping has been so weird this year. It hasn’t been the best year for me, but hopefully that’ll change. I’m trying to be optimistic here, because I’m tired of being so down on myself. Anyway, this weekend or Monday I’ll have my May wrap up posted, so be on the look out for that. 🙂

Book Haul|| April.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

My book haul for April is pretty small. I somehow did not buy any books besides a couple of e-books! You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. The Invention of Sophie Carter by Samantha Hastings

I am really excited for Faith Taking Flight (Goodreads giveaway win) and The Invention of Sophie Carter. They sound so good and I can’t wait to read them. They are being published in July, so hopefully I can read them soon and get a review up for you guys! 🙂

E-Books:

theoutsidersiwishyouallthebest

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
I Wish You All the Best by Mason Deaver

The Outsiders is one of my favorite books and while I do own a print copy, I wanted to get the e-book when I seen it on sale. Now I can carry it around with me everywhere. 😛 I reread it a lot, so money well spent. I plan to read it again in May. I’ve been wanting I Wish You All the Best so bad, so I was stoked to see it on sale as well.

What new books did you get in April? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I spent the morning catching up on all of your blog posts and comments. 🙂 Hopefully, I don’t get too behind again. If I missed anything, please feel free to link me to your posts and I’ll check them out. I should have my April wrap up posted in the next few days.

Book Haul|| March.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

I can’t believe my last post was two weeks ago, I am so sorry! Things have been really rough this month, so I’ve been kind of MIA from the blogosphere. I’ll talk more about this in my wrap up post tomorrow (or Thursday) though. But for today, I am bringing you my March book haul. I am going to jump right into it, here are the books that I got this month. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. *I do need to update these pages since it’s been a few months.*

Books I Bought/Gifted:

Night of the Dragon by Julie Kagawa
Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
The Unlikely Hero of Room 13b by Teresa Toten
Trip: Psychedelics, Alienation, and Change by Tao Lin

Night of the Dragon is FINALLY HERE! Of course, I had to preorder it. I am living for the purple cover so much. I can’t wait to read it. My birthday was this month and my younger sister gifted me Tweet Cute. I’ve been wanting to book for a while now, so I’m stoked. I found The Unlikely Hero of Room 13b at a discount store and it sounded good, so I got it. I think it only cost $1.99! I saw Trip on bookstagram and it sounded really good, so I had to have it. I really like psychology books and books that talk about drugs/addiction. I started reading it a little bit and hope to continue it again soon.

Netgalley:

surrenderyoursonswheredreamsdescend

Surrender Your Sons by Adam Sass
Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles

I also saw Surrender Your Sons on bookstagram and it sounded really great, so I decided to request it on Netgalley and was luckily approved. It’ll be published in September. I noticed Where Dreams Descend was on “read now” for a few days, so I jumped at the chance to get it. So stoked about it! This one will be published in June.

E-Books:

allofthisistruechangeling

All of This Is True by Lygia Day Penaflor
Changeling by Matt Wesolowski

I surprisingly didn’t go crazy with buying e-books this month! I usually get quite a few, but I guess I was being more picky this month with what e-books I buy. I already have so many! I’ve been wanting to read All of This Is True for a while now, so I was excited to finally catch it on sale. I haven’t read book one or two of the Six Stories series yet, but I own them both and Changeling was only 99 cents, so I decided to buy it.

What new books did you get in March? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I am planning to do some major blog hopping this week, because I am a bit behind with catching up with you guys. Like I said earlier in this entry, REALLY rough month for me. Update about that soon and hopefully April will be better. Fingers crossed.

Book Haul|| February.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

Time for another book haul already? I bought a few books this month and was sent some Spring ARCs from a publisher. I’ve been trying to be super picky with the books that I buy over the last couple years, especially this year. I’m not currently working, so this is one of the big reasons why I have to be so picky when deciding when and what to buy. Let’s face it…I want ALL THE BOOKS. 😛 So this month I did buy a few books, but I unhauled quite a few (like 50+) books too! It’s hard saying goodbye to books, but it had to be done. I got rid of books that I didn’t love and books that I lost interest in and knew I would probably never get around to reading.

There’s a used bookstore in my area that  takes book donations for trade credit (store credit), so that’s what I did. They gave me $94 in trade credit and I was actually shocked! For some reason I thought it was going to be A LOT less. A great thing about the credit is that it is good for two years! So that meant that I didn’t have to spend it the same day. I ended up getting one book and still have $88 to spend whenever I pop over there and check out what new books they get in throughout the year. 🙂 I’m thinking I got so much because I got rid of a ton of pretty popular ones including: the Throne of Glass series, the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, Illuminae, The Hate U Give, Children of Blood & Bone, and a bunch of others.

Anyway, enough about unhauling books, below are the books that I got this month. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books.

Books I Bought:

DD0CB2A1-00BF-4E97-A881-518C93E8E461

Heartstopper: Volume 3 by Alice Oseman
Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams

Of course I had to buy Heartstopper: Volume 3, because I love these graphic novels so much. I love my boys. I already read it and loved it. Maybe Someday is one of my favorite Colleen Hoover books and I didn’t actually own it, so I decided now was the chance to buy it since my husband is reviewing it for my blog. Hopefully his review will be coming soon. He actually already finished the book. I found The Bromance Book Club at a used bookstore and I had to get it. I’ve been off and on about wanting to read it and since I had trade credit from the books that I donated I decided to get it.

Not Even Bones by Rebecca Schaeffer
Only Ashes Remain by Rebecca Schaeffer

I loved Not Even Bones when I read the ARC a couple years ago and I’ve been wanting to get the sequel ever since. I didn’t actually buy the sequel at the time it was released because I didn’t own the first book, so I found Not Even Bones at a discount store and bought it for like $3. As soon as I got to the car I ordered the sequel, Only Ashes Remain. I am so stoked to read it.

Books from Publishers:

I received a box of Spring 2020 ARCs from Fierce Reads, which I was so stoked to receive. It had mostly contemporaries in it and I love that. Below are the books that I received and their release dates.

I couldn’t help requesting Julie’s new book Admissions when I seen it on Netgalley. I really enjoy her books, so I can’t wait to read it.

E-Books:

There were so many e-books on sale in February that I wanted, but I ended up telling myself “no”. I can go crazy with e-book buying if I don’t stop myself. Here are the ones that I said “yes” for and ended up buying.

iloveyousomochigetalifenofilter

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

That’s all for this blog post! I will have my wrap up probably posted on Monday as I am hoping to finish one more book before then. This month has not been my month with reading, but more about that in my wrap up. Catch up with you guys later today or tomorrow. 🙂

Book Haul|| January.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

I had quite the haul in January, but a lot of the books that I got this month were on sale, so that was nice. I am going to just jump right into my January book haul. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books.

Books I Bought:

8e13812a-345b-45b3-8b17-4ab269e87136

Infinity Son by Adam Silvera
The Toll by Neal Shusterman

I had to get Infinity Son, because I really love Adam Silvera’s books and stoked to see what he does with a fantasy novel. I read Thunderhead this month, so I had to buy the third book after reading it. I can’t wait to read The Toll. I am hoping to read it in February.

b5f60e67-d8d1-4d07-9e56-bc69c3d53b28

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
The Black Elfstone
by Terry Brooks

My sister, her boyfriend, my husband, and I went to Books-A-Million and I found a really cool version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland in the bargain section, so I decided to get it. I love collecting different copies of Alice. The Black Elfstone is a book that my husband picked out for himself. I highly doubt he ever reads it (he’s not a reader), but he wanted to get it. It was also in the bargain section. If he does read it, maybe I’ll have him write a review on it for my blog LOL. 😛  I told him if he get into reading, I’ll make some space on my shelves for his books, haha.

bdfb7cf4-454a-4c3e-9b4f-b5202fbffeb8

Reverie by Ryan La Sala
The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen
The Speed of Falling Objects by Nancy Richardson Fischer

We also decided to check out this used bookstore (pictures below) here in Lakeland, which was really cool. They had thousands and thousands of books in multiple rooms! I ended up finding Reverie, The Merciful Crow, and The Speed of Falling Objects there! I was so stoked when I seen them. There were so many others I wanted to get, but had to limit myself haha.

I got approved for Darling Rose Gold on Netgalley and I was so stoked when I got the email. This book sounds so good and I can’t wait to read it.

Book Haul|| December.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

Last book haul of the year, what?! I’ve been keeping a spreadsheet of the books that I got throughout the year, so I thought it would be cool to also share my book haul stats with you guys. I’m also curious myself, haha. Maybe make a post about how many books I got and how many I actually read from the books that I got this year. I think that will be a REALLY terrifying post though, haha. 😛 But first, the books that I got this month. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books.

Books I Bought:

Regretting You by Colleen Hoover
After You by Jojo Moyes
The Beauty That Remains by Ashley Woodfolk
Down and Across by Arvin Ahmadi

I had to of course buy CoHo’s new book. I actually read an ARC of Regretting You in November and you can check out my mini review over here. The next three books (After You, The Beauty That Remains, Down and Across) I got from this outlet store near our house called Ollie’s. They always sell their books REALLY cheap. I think the most expensive of the three was around $2.99! I always like to go check out their books. I always end up finding something that I’ve been wanting to get.

Books Gifted:

The Handmaid’s Tale: The Graphic Novel by Renee Nault, Margaret Atwood
My Boyfriend Is a Bear by Pamela Ribon, Cat Farris
The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennet
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

I WAS ACTUALLY GIFTED BOOKS FOR CHRISTMAS! I rarely ever get any books for Christmas. My family always say they don’t buy me books because I always buy myself books all year round. I had four books on my Christmas list this year and I actually got them all! Ninth House, The Lady Rogue, The Handmaid’s Tale: The Graphic Novel, and My Boyfriend is a Bear were all on my Christmas list this year.

Q&A a Day: 5-Year Journal by Potter Gift
Zen as F*ck by Monica Sweeney

I got the Q&A a Day journal from the hubby’s parents for Christmas. I actually really wanted one of these. I seen it a couple years ago and just never got one for some reason, so it was a nice surprise! My cousin/bestie sent me the journal called Zen as F*ck, which I am excited to start using.I linked both of these journals to Amazon, because I think you can probably get a better sense of what they are that way.

Books from Publishers:

Processed with VSCO with au1 preset

Girls with Razor Hearts by Suzanne Young

I was stoked that the publisher reached out to me asking if I wanted the sequel to Girls with Sharp Sticks. I loved that book so much, so I can’t wait to read the sequel Girls with Razor Hearts. It’s releasing in March. I’ll probably read this one some time in early February.

E-Books:

birthdayoppositeofalwayslikealovestoryletmehearyourhyme

Birthday by Meredith Russo
Opposite of Always by Justin A. Reynolds
Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian
Let Me Hear a Rhyme by Tiffany D. Jackson

crownofcoralandpearlalexinwonderlandmagicforliarsunspeakablethings

Crown of Coral and Pearl by Mara Rutherford
Alex in Wonderland by Simon James Green
Magic for Liars
by Sarah Gailey
Unspeakable Things by Jess Lourey

There were so many good e-book deals this month. There were even a ton that I wanted that I decided to skip on this time. These are the ones that I did end up getting. I’ve been wanting to read the majority of these for so long now, so I was stoked to see them finally on sale. Unspeakable Things I got free from Amazon Prime First Reads program. You get one free book a month (sometimes two) from a selection of like five books if you have Amazon Prime.

What new books did you get in December? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I should have my December wrap up in the next few days. Probably after New Year’s. I am hoping to finish at least one more book before the end of the month. I am currently in the middle of two, so we’ll see what happens. I’ll also have my goals for 2020 coming soon too. I am off to see my family for New Year’s Eve tomorrow. If I don’t come around before then, HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🙂

Book Haul|| November.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

I am going to just jump right into my November book haul. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I actually need to update these pages soon, it’s been a few months. Here are the books that I got in November.

Books I Bought:

9 from the Nine Worlds by Rick Riordan
For Everyone by Jason Reynolds
Dry by Neal Shusterman, Jarrod Shusterman
I Am Still Alive by Kate Alice Marshall

9 from the Nine Worlds was only $8 on Amazon, so I decided to get it. I really love the Magnus Chase series so far (still need to read the third book), so I am stoked to have this short story that goes along with the trilogy. There’s this outlet store by my house that’s called “Ollie’s Outlet” and they have a really big book selection that always sells books for cheap. I got For Everyone, Dry, and I Am Still Alive for $1.99-2.99 each.

queenofnothing

The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

Had to edit this post, because I completely forgot about The Queen of Nothing, oops! I preordered the Barnes & Noble black edition since my other books in the series are also the B&N editions. Sharing the Goodreads cover since I forgot all about it and didn’t photograph it.

Netgalley:

Followers by Megan Angelo

I thought Followers sounded really good when I read the description on Netgalley, so I decided to request it. It’ll be released in January so hopefully I get to it soon. I really love the colors of the book cover.

E-Books:

We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal
Recursion by Blake Crouch
Sal and Gabi Break the Universe by Carlos Hernandez
Friended by Kilby Blades
The Hive by Barry Lyga, Morgan Baden

And of course the e-books! There were a few that I’ve been waiting to go on sale that I am super stoked about like Recursion, The Hive, We Hunt the Flame, and Sal & Gabi Break the Universe. I thought Friended sounded good and it was free, so why not?

Book Haul|| October.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

I somehow managed to do really good with not buying a ton of books this month, which I am both proud of and kind of sad about because there are so many books that I want to buy. While I didn’t buy a lot of books this month, I did get sent quite a few from a publisher that I am really excited about. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. I actually need to update these pages soon, it’s been a couple months. But anyway, onto my haul. Here are the books that I got in October.

Books I Bought:

30A1D514-8A52-41C0-90E8-B9B347A3F512

Mooncakes by Suzanna Walker
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York by Kim Smith

I bought Mooncakes, because I thought it would be a perfect read for October and it was! I’ve also been trying to get into more graphic novels. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is a children’s book, but I had to have it because it’s my favorite Christmas movie. I can’t wait to read it in December and then watch the movie.

The Silence of Bones by June Hur (April)

I received a box of Winter ARCs from Fierce Reads, which I was so stoked for! I am excited to read them all, but I am especially excited for Emma Mills’ new book (Lucky Caller), Shani Petroff’s new book (Finding Mr. Better-Than-You), and Little Universes. I put the release months of these books next to the title.

Mine by Courtney Cole

The Flintstones Vol. 1 by Mark Russell
The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd Jones
Scream All Night by Derek Milman
welcome to ghost town by Gretchen Gomez

I took it pretty easy on the e-books this month. I think I’ve been getting a lot pickier when buying e-books, because the majority of them I buy when they are on sale and then forget all about them. So easy to forget them when you don’t see them after buying, lol. I actually got the volume one graphic novel of The Flintstones for free. Amazon gave me a free graphic novel credit, so I decided to just choose that. I liked The Flintstones TV show growing up, so why not? Haha. I really liked Derek Milman’s book Swipe Right for Murder, so I decided to get Scream All Night when I seen it on sale.

What new books did you get in October? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I will hopefully have my October wrap up posted at some point tomorrow. I am hoping to finish one more book before I get it up.

Book Haul|| September.

bookhaulyellow

Hey!

I am going to just jump right into my September book haul. You can check out a full list of the books that I own over here. There’s links to different pages on my blog that show my e-books and my physical books. Here are the books that I got in September.

Books I Bought:

B730E4C0-294D-4102-ADCB-FF8325C792D2

Permanent Record by Mary H.K. Choi
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
Frankly in Love by David Yoon

These first three were pre-orders that I have been waiting on and I am so stoked they are finally here! It was a nice surprise when I opened Gideon the Ninth to find that the edges were sprayed black! I had no idea they would be, so that was cool! Frankly in Love has blue sprayed edges, which is cool too. As for Permanent Record, it has a plastic dust jacket, which I actually hate. It’s like the type of cover that Illuminae has. I wasn’t really expecting that since Choi’s book Emergency Contact has a normal cover dust jacket like most books do. Oh well, lol. I am really excited to read them.

88715F7A-F90A-4299-91AA-6150D0CB8D90

Over the Top by Jonathan Van Ness
Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson

I had to get Over the Top, because I love Jonathan Van Ness. I read the first chapter of the book and I can’t wait to read more. It’ll have to wait though since I already have a planned TBR for October. I got Dance of Thieves from Books-A-Million for super cheap, I think it was like $4.99? I can’t really remember the exact amount, but it was in their bargain section, so I was stoked about it.

Netgalley:

Regretting You by Colleen Hoover

I seen Regretting You up on Netgalley over the weekend and decided to request it. I was approved the next day and was so pretty happy about it. I can’t wait to read it. I’ll probably read it in November.

E-Books:

romanovwesoldoursoulsmeetcutethevinewitcheverythingyouare

Romanov by Nadine Brandes
We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix
Meet Cute by Helena Hunting
The Vine Witch by Luanne G. Smith
Everything You Are by Kerry Anne King

I actually didn’t go too crazy with e-book deals again, so that’s nice. The first three are books that I’ve been wanting to read and the second two were books that I thought sounded interesting and they were free with Amazon First Reads. We Sold Our Souls is another sneak peak at what is on my Halloweenie TBR. Earlier today I posted my September wrap up (linked below) and shared another book that made the list in that post. 😛

What new books did you get in September? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your haul post, so I can check it out!

I’ll have my Halloween themed TBR posted tomorrow. I am really excited to share it with you guys, because I love Halloween and it was fun coming up with a list of spooky reads that I hope to read next month.
