On Sunday (March 3rd) was my birthday! It was mostly spent just relaxing at home, because my childhood best friend’s wedding was later that night. It was nice though! We decided to go to Sonny BBQ for dinner the night before to celebrate, which was awesome.
On Sunday afternoon we walked around a little shopping area and got cupcakes from Smallcakes. So good! Andy got a margarita cupcake, my younger sister got a peanut butter cup cupcake, and I got a chocolate & vanilla cupcake. My sister paid for them for my birthday, which was nice of her.
We also went to Books-A-Million, because it’s in the same shopping area and I can’t go to a bookstore without stopping in to look around! I decided to get one book, which was Tales of King Arthur & The Knights of the Round Table. I love anything King Arthur and this edition was in the bargain books section and only $10. I love the gold shiny cover so much! It has little illustrations inside as well. I can’t wait to read it. It’s probably one of those books that I’ll most likely read a story at a time and pick it up at random times to continue to another story, if that makes any sense. I could have gotten so many more books, but decided I better not haha. After that we went to Rocket Fizz, so Andy could get some sodas. I skipped on the saltwater taffy that I usually get when we go to Rocket Fizz. But now that we are living in this area, I can go whenever and don’t need to stock up like I usually do, haha.
Onto some birthday gifts! I got most of my gifts days early, but I was fine with that! 😛 I got a lot of things that I really wanted, which was nice. My older sister got me a hammock chair for my birthday and my mom got me the little table to put next to my hammock. I am so stoked that I got a hammock chair, because I actually really wanted one since we have this huge tree in our yard that’s perfect for it. It’s so comfy! It came with two pillows as well, which is awesome. I would have eventually bought one for myself, but it was a nice surprise to see that my sister got it for me! Perfect reading/chill spot.
My aunt bought me these coasters, which are pretty hilarious. I am all about coasters now…does that mean I’m becoming a real adult? Andy’s parents got me the essential oils air diffuser, which I really wanted. My mom has one and her house always smells good, so I am stoked to have one now.
Andy got me Crash Bandicoot for our Nintendo Switch and the Monsters Inc. Sora Funko Pop. I loved Crash Bandicoot as a kid and this game has the first three Crash games in one! I remember mentioning on my Instagram Stories a couple weeks ago how I hoped they would make a Funko of the Monsters Inc. Sora from Kingdom Hearts 3 and it’s a thing!! So when Andy asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I sent him that.
Around 3pm we started to get ready for my friend’s wedding. We wanted to get there early to make sure we found the place on time. Good thing too, because the address on the invitation ended up taking us to some other place! We eventually found it, so that was great. Her wedding was so beautiful. I didn’t really take any pictures at the wedding, because they asked for cameras to be put away during ceremony and at the reception we were just having fun and I didn’t really have my phone out. I did take a picture of the decorations on the table. It was nice seeing my friend get married. She and her husband looked so happy. I was able to say HI to her brothers and sister too, who I haven’t seen in YEARS. Last time was most likely around my eighth grade year in middle school! So it’s been a long time since I’ve seen her family.
Here are some random pictures that I took while we walked around the area that the wedding was taking place, which is called Lake Mirror. The building and swan were just in random places in downtown Lakeland. It’s so pretty there and I was able to get a ton of great pictures!
On Monday (March 4th) my cousin came over with her husband and son to see my house and visit. They bought us some housewarming gifts. A little ottoman filled with towels, toys for my dog and cats, some random misc. food, and a Presto Pizzazz (rotating pizza oven). That was really nice of them. I am really excited about the Presto Pizzazz! You can make so many things from frozen pizza, homemade pizza, other frozen food (like pizza rolls, bagel bites, chicken nuggets), sandwiches (like grilled cheese), cookies!!!, and even s’mores!! I am totally trying out making s’mores on this thing!
This weekend my older sister, niece, and nephew are going to come visit for the weekend. They haven’t had the chance to see my house yet besides videos or pictures, so that’ll be nice having them visit for the weekend. Anyway, that’s all for this post! I’ll have another picture update soonish with random pictures that I took throughout the last week or two that are not a part of this post/day.

Exciting news….the hubby and I did a thing…we bought a house on Friday (2/8)! We pretty much kept it secret and didn’t talk about it that much to anyone. I didn’t want to jinx things, because we really wanted this to work out! AND WELL….it did!
We are super stoked about it! We took a bunch of our stuff up there that we don’t use often. Funny story…so we brought an air mattress to sleep on, but forgot the air pump to blow it up. So I was like, okay, that’s okay. We have a big comforter we can lay on the the floor with….yeah, forgot that too. LMAO! So we had a ton of sheets and throw blankets to sleep on. Not the best sleep, but it is what it is. HAHA. We aren’t bringing our bed or other furniture until next weekend or the weekend after that.
My mom and aunt ended up coming on Saturday afternoon though and we went out to Walmart to get some stuff. She ended up buying us a couch/futon. It’s a futon, but when folded up it looks like a couch. It is really comfy and it’s really cute. She also bought a couple of air mattresses too, so next time we are good to go until we get all of our stuff up there! It’s currently about 3.5-4 hours from where we currently live. Don’t mind the mess, we are moving in HAHA. 😛 We spent pretty much all Saturday morning cleaning and doing other things around the house until my mom and aunt got there.
I haven’t taken any inside pictures yet (besides the one above), but I will probably do that once we are settled in. The weekend was just just crazy busy doing a ton of different things and I guess just taking it all in, because it’s like a huge step in our lives. It’s super cool though! We have SO MUCH space. It’s three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and there’s a bonus room (which we will use like a second living room/family room). The “bonus room” is actually pictured above. We already have a list of things we want to do, haha. That’ll be fun. 😛 We ate lunch on a piece of cardboard Sunday hahah, so we wouldn’t get the floor messy and because we wanted to watch TV. My mom left her hot spot for us to watch TV until we got our own internet setup on Sunday.
We’ll be going back up Friday night to do some more cleaning and hopefully more organizing of things. The living room when you walk into our house currently has so many boxes, so hopefully we get some things put away and more organized before we bring in the rest of our stuff in the next week or two.
I took my smaller lens ball with me and got this pretty awesome picture of our house. I’m kind of obsessed with how great this picture turned out. We also have this HUGE tree in our backyard and I’m totally living for it. I already have plans to hang a hammock chair from it. Perfect reading spot while the pup runs around the yard, haha. The yard is fenced in, but we’ll be eventually getting a privacy fence, but for now it’s fine.
Our house is more in the country side of town, which we actually like. Lots of good picture taking opportunities in the future, haha. Also, there are cows, goats, and horses and lots of woods too. One house across the street before turning into our neighborhood has three goats in their front yard, LOL. The next few pictures aren’t the best quality because we were driving and I didn’t have my zoom lens on my Nikon or the correct setting, but here is some of the area. I definitely plan to get more later this week.
So we’re now homeowners which is pretty neat! This year is going to be pretty crazy for us. New house, new city, but we’re super stoked to see what happens. We have so much work to do with packing, moving, unpacking so I may not be around too much like I mentioned previously. I apologize in advance! I didn’t even get to read that much this week, which sucked! Hopefully I can finish at least one book this week. I’m halfway through Crooked Kingdom, so I would love to be able to finish that one this week. Guess we’ll see what happens!

I haven’t done this post in awhile, because I took a break from the photo challenges on Instagram for a few months. I decided to attempt the October challenge, because the topics are mostly colors. In case you forgot what my photo a day challenge posts are; I’ve been taking part in monthly photo a day challenges on my Instagram account (heyyitsashley) and I’ve been having a lot of fun with them (when I don’t fall behind on pictures). I figured I would also cross post them to my blog as well. I think for the purpose of blogging, I will post 3-6 per blog post that I do throughout the month. That way I am not spamming my blog with a photo a day post every single day. You can follow me on Instagram (linked above) if you want to see them daily though! Some of these pictures will be taken with my Nikon cameras (CoolPix & D3400). There will also be some taken with my iPhone X.

It’s also been awhile since I’ve done a regular picture/life update post, so I will be doing one of those at some point next week (hopefully), so be on the look out for that. I also hope to have a couple reviews coming next week as well. The hubby and I are off to visit his parents for the weekend after work, so that should be fun. Since they live about 2.5-3 hours away, it’ll hopefully give me a little bit of time to catch up on reading. I am currently in the middle of four books….UGHH, I hate doing this. My main focus is on two of them though, The No-Good Nine and Baby Teeth. The other two I will finish after these two.

I am finally posting the pictures that I took when my sister and I went to a park down the street from my house. We had nothing else to do, so we decided to take my cameras around to see what we can take pictures of. Warning, it’s a post of a lot of trees. This park is FULL of trees, lol. I love these trees though, because they have leaves and vines growing on the branches and they look really neat.
My younger sister (Stephanie) came down to visit for the weekend a few weeks ago and we took my cameras out. I let her use my Nikon COOLPIX while I had my Nikon D3400. As you scroll, you’ll see a ton of trees like mentioned above. LOL.
My sister took the bottom right corner picture of me. I didn’t know she was taking pictures of me, lol. I like it though.
We saw quite a few iguanas at the park, which is always neat. They are everywhere here in Florida. I have more iguana pictures, but I must have moved them off my phone already. I was also able to get a shot of this dragonfly too.
This park also has a water park in it, so these are two things from where the water park is. I love the different signs, especially the ones that say “the moon” and “going crazy”. They also have this really big chair outside of the water park too; it says “Castaway Island”, which is what the water park is called. I’ve only ever been to the water park once since living here and it’s pretty neat.
We took my lensballs with us to the park and took some pictures with those too. I got a few good shots. The above picture is a behind the scenes picture I took of my sister taking a picture of the lensballs with her phone. I edited it to only show color on her phone screen.
I already shared this one, but I am posting it again since it goes with this post. It’s a picture of me that my sister took. Me in the lensball taking a picture of her, lol. And below are a bunch of different lensballs pictures that I took.
The last four pictures are just some random pictures I took while at the park. No real explanation for them, but I thought they were cool.
The next day we went to visit my dad and went to another park. I’ll have those pictures coming soon. 🙂 I’ll also have a post of the pictures I’ve taken over the last 2.5 months that I haven’t been posting. Feel free to follow me on Instagram (heyyitsashley)! A lot of these haven’t been posted on my Instagram yet though, so you’re seeing them first! Eventually they’ll make their way on there. I take so many pictures and don’t want to post a million at one time, so I hoard pictures to post later, lol.

Instagram Caption: the target balls are mickey mouse today! 🎯 || photo a day • circle.

I went to Target on Friday and noticed that the balls they have outside of the store were dressed like Mickey Mouse. I was pretty stoked about it, so I had to get a picture. I remember when Pokemon Go first came out, Target painted them to look like Pokeballs. I was curious why about the Mickey Mouse ears, but when I went inside I noticed they had a new section of the store dedicated to all things Mickey Mouse.
Instagram Caption: found a bunch of these guys munching on leaves at the beach today. 🐛🌿 || photo a day • snack.
Camera: Nikon D3400.
I went walking around the beach with my mom and aunt for a little bit and snapped some pictures. It finally stopped raining, so I was able to take my camera out. I seen a bunch of these caterpillars eating leaves. They look so fuzzy and a little creepy. 😛
Instagram Caption: beach day with @lingytm 🌊☀️✌🏼 || photo a day • i sat here.
Camera: iPhone X.
On Sunday, my cousin Michelle came to hangout and we went to the beach and then wen to grab some tacos from a taco place on the beach. It was just her and I, so that was cool. The sun wasn’t too bad when we first got there (we went really early around 9am). We ate lunch around 11am and then went back to my house. I got in the pool to get a lot of the sand off me and because the sun really came out while we ate lunch and it was pretty brutal having to walk so much back to the car in the sun and heat. Our beach has a lot of restaurants and bars on a little strip, so we walked a pretty far amount to the taco place. It was a lot farther than we both actually thought it was. Still a fun time!
Instagram Caption: “that dope ass beat in your heart, vibe to it.” || photo a day • this is so me! • i don’t know why, but i’m forever taking pictures of my shoes.
Camera: Nikon D3400.
Just a random picture. I don’t really have any explanation for it, lol. I tend to take a lot of pictures of my shoes for some reason. I’m not entirely sure why, but I guess it’s my thing. It was also perfect for the topic of “this is so me”, since it’s just something I always do.
Instagram Caption: forever heart eyes for this apartment building every time i see it at the beach. it’s so huge and so pretty. || photo a day • favourite.
Camera: Nikon D3400.
This is a huge apartment building on the beach. This picture isn’t even half of it. It’s also so pretty. It’s probably one of my favorite buildings along the beach, lol. I actually really love how this picture turned out too.
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a regular picture/life update, so I may do that soon or at least at some point this month. I’ve taken a lot more pictures over the last couple months that are not a part of the photo a day challenge, so I want to post those on my blog as well. Over the weekend I went to go visit my dad with my younger sister and our mom. It was a really great time. While he showed my younger sister around his place, I was off taking pictures with my camera. I’ve been there before, so I seen the majority of it. My dad has the most amazing garden and plants. Here are a few pictures, but let me first tell you that this isn’t even half of his plants/garden. His entire place is surrounded and this is only a small portion. I still haven’t taken pictures of everything yet, but I did get a few of my favorite area.
FAVORITE AREA BEING THE CACTI AND SUCCULENTS!! HOLY CRAP! I was literally in picture taking HEAVEN. Next time I go see my dad, I’m going to ask him if I can take a few plants home. He always asks us if we want any and I always say no. Next time I’m gonna say yes, lol.
Found these guys on a couple of my dad’s plants. The caterpillar is going to turn into a monarch butterfly, which is pretty cool. The below picture is just a random picture of these little plants that are hanging from the big trees in his yard. I love the trees and I really love this picture.
Most of these from my dad’s garden (like the hanging tree and the butterfly and lady bug) haven’t been on Instagram yet. Eventually they’ll make there way there. I hoard pictures to post later. So if you follow me on there, you may see these again! Instagram: heyyitsashley
After he showed my sister around, we were gonna go grab lunch. Before lunch though, we went to Biscayne National Park to walk around. He said he goes there a lot. It was so pretty there and I was super stoked to be able to take pictures. I’ve pretty much taken pictures of almost all the parks in my area, so it was nice going to a new one I haven’t been to. There were a ton of people out fishing and swimming there. There’s two parts to the park, but we only went to the fishing part, which was still so pretty. Here are some pictures I took while there.
MOM & DAD.
We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. I never been there before, but my sister swore they were amazing. I didn’t really get the hype. The food wasn’t that great. At least their chicken tenders weren’t. The beer was good though.
Well, that’s all for this post! I should hopefully be able to catch up with your blogs and comments in the next couple of days. Been a busy weekend and week so far for me with getting some school stuff done on top of work and trying to fit in some non-school related reading as well. I also got addicted to Nailed It (baking competition show) on Netflix and watched the entire season in a day. 😛
I was hoping to finish my current read (Love and Other Carnivorous Plants) by today, so I could get my review up, but I ended up going to the movies last night to see Love, Simon. So that didn’t happen. I hope to at least have it up before the end of the week. By the way, Love, Simon was AMAZING. I laughed and cried throughout the entire movie. The hubby even cried throughout the movie too, lol. SO MANY FEELS!

I’ll have my February wrap up of all the books that I read this month posted tomorrow. I wanted to get my photo a day post up before the first day of March. I actually posted two pictures ( the one above and one below) for this day, because I couldn’t decide which picture I liked better. You guys, I am absolutely terrified of bees (mostly getting stung by a bee). I love taking pictures of them though, weird…I know. HAHA. Same with all bugs, really.
Instagram Caption: ♡♡♡♡ || photo a day • depth of field.

I wasn’t entirely sure what “depth of field” was, but from the looks of other people’s pictures it was when there was a subject and everything else was blurry around it. So I just went with it and posted this picture I took of this little pink flower.

I did wear these glasses this day though, lol. 😛 These are my other favorite pair that I own. I usually switch between these two more than the others. Anyway! YOU GUYS!!! Immortal Reign is SO FREAKING GOOD! I’ve been reading it very slowly, because I don’t want it to end. Last Friday I accidentally left IR at work and I wanted to cry. I had planned to read a bunch over the weekend and I forgot my book and it was pretty devastating considering I had to go the ENTIRE weekend without it. I decided to not bring it to work with me this week, just in case I forgot it again. haha.

I am kind of in a reading slump right now, which totally sucks. I haven’t been in the mood to read anything for the past week or so. I’ve been watching a lot of TV, which is fine. I mentioned how I was so far behind on TV shows as I am books. Hopefully I get out of this slump ASAP, because I have a lot of books I want to read. Like a ton of ARCs that I need to get reviews up for. Since I don’t really have anything to talk about as far as books goes, here is another photo a day post with pictures from the last few days.
I’ve been taking part in monthly photo a day challenges on my Instagram account (heyyitsashley) and I’ve been having a lot of fun with them (when I don’t fall behind on pictures). Throwback picture to mine and the hubby’s vacation to California in 2016. This is one of my favorite pictures that I took. I want to go on another vacation, on another plane, so I can take more pictures from the sky! I also really want to go back to San Francisco, because I didn’t get to do all the things that I really wanted to do.

One the side of the outside wall of a restaurant on the beach, there is this really cool mosaic picture. I always like taking pictures of it and it’s so detailed and it went perfectly for the topic this day.
Instagram Caption: 🌊🌴☀️✌🏼 || photo a day • stripes.

This picture was also taken at the beach in the parking garage. I thought it looked cool being able to see the beach from the little window and it ended up going perfect for “stripes”. I have another picture from the parking garage too that isn’t through the slatted window. I’ll have to post that in a picture update post at some point.
Instagram Caption: “my only goal in life right now is to be genuinely happy.” ♡ || photo a day • time.

This one is just a totally random picture. It probably doesn’t really go with “time”, but I used a quote that could go with it as the caption. I am LIVING for the quote I put as the caption. I took it this morning right before it was TIME to go to work though, LOL. So I decided to just post it anyway. I also really love it even though it is completely random and I was just messing around waiting for my sister to finish getting ready.

I hope you have a great day!
Hey! 🙂
I hope everyone is having a good weekend! I woke up super early today, because the boyfriend and I had to take my younger sister to work. We were also going to go to the mall to go to Books-A-Million. It was really early, so the mall wasn’t opened yet though. We decided to cash in my piggy bank change that I’ve been saving up at Publix and it ended up being $50! I also got a chocolate frosting sprinkle donut from Publix. It was probably the best donut I’ve ever had. Publix seriously has the best stuff though.
After Publix we went to this park that was close by to kill time. It was pretty cool, because the entire park was on huge hills. There were different levels of the hills with different things in the park. The section we went to had a model airplane launching pad and we watched people fly their model airplanes for a little while and then just chilled passing time.
^^*that’s the boyfriend and our car* ^^
We decided to go to the mall an hour before the stores opened and walked around. OMG I’ve never realized how many people exercise in the mall before the stores open! It’s totally a thing!! It was mostly older people, but so many of them walking around in their running shoes, workout clothes, and holding water bottles. It was pretty crazy! I can totally understand why though, it’s empty when stores aren’t open and you don’t have to suffer in the Florida summer heat to get exercise in!
I was actually really disappointed with Books-A-Million. It wasn’t any better than Barnes & Noble in my opinion. I still spent a ton of money that I probably shouldn’t have. I also didn’t see any new releases from this week, which was a huge disappointment! Sigh. I think I’ll stick to Amazon and Book Outlet from now on. It’s so much cheaper and I can get all kinds of books.
Anyway!! I did get five books from the bookstore though. I only had to use $10 over what my piggy bank was, so that was not too bad. I was saving my change, so I could buy books. Below are the books that I got…
Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider
The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler
Starters by Lissa Price
Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter
Let’s Get Lost by Adi Alsaid
Even though I wasn’t exactly happy with the Books-A-Million store itself, I’ve been really wanting these books, so I am glad that I got them. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can get the ones I didn’t see. I’ve been trying really hard not to spend so much money on books like I have been over the last few months. So far I’ve been good this month…so much better than usual!
Overall it was a pretty good morning! It’s so nice when the boyfriend has a Saturday off work. I wish it was more often, but I guess I’ll take what I can get! We also got Steak N Shake for lunch (which I haven’t had in so long). CHEESE FRIES! Modern Romance and catching up on TV shows with the boyfriend.
Check out some of my other posts from this week! You know you want to! 😉

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! BYE! 🙂
Hi 🙂
Remember when I said I was on a book buying ban? Yeah….I suck, lol. There is a Goodwill literally 5 minutes walking from my house, so I decided to drag my younger sister on a walk to the Goodwill with me. I was really going to look for a jar there for the book jar I wanted to make, but of course I had to look at the books too. I failed to find a jar, but I left with a bunch of books. Together they only cost me about $10 though!
Walking isn’t too bad, but since I live in Florida it is so dang hot! WHERE’S THE SNOW THOUGH?! The walk wasn’t bad though, thank God. It could have been worse had it been a further distance. The Goodwill is across from a railroad track that is at the end of the street that my house is on, SO CLOSE!
This is the railroad, of course. I love that there are flower bushes along the side of it. I live on the other side of those bushes; well toward the end of the street anyway, but close enough. I also have one of those bushes in my backyard, it’s pretty.
My sister and I found this pretty neat mirror at Goodwill. If my apartment was bigger, I probably would have wanted to get it. I’m the one with the colorful TOMS on and she’s the one with the black shoes; well those are our legs anyway, lol 😉 Onto the books and then some other random pictures from today and this week.
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
Ashes of Twilight by Kassy Tyler
Chasers by James Phelan
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
The Time Paradox by Eoin Colfer
The Long Wait for Tomorrow by Joaquin Dorfman
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith
So, those are all the books that I got! They were all in great condition! I couldn’t pass up on the Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox. It’s the sixth book in the series, but I want to eventually own and read them all, so I had to buy it. I already read Water for Elephants, but I really loved the book, so I wanted to own it. The rest of the books I have never read and they all sound like good books. I had Thirteen Reasons Why on my TBR list, so it was nice finding it. There is a picture of ColbyJack chillin amongst the books. He really just wanted to lay on the plastic bags.
I printed off my entire TBR list from Goodreads on Excel and I plan to do the book jar soon! I have seven books I want to read before I start the jar, so I printed off extra pages, so I could fill out new books that I add to my list. I know I’ll probably end up adding tons more books before I actually get a chance to do the jar (like all the books I bought today). I wrote down the seven books I want to read before, so I can check off from there. I am thinking about doing two jars; one of books I own already and one of books I don’t own yet. That way I am not constantly having to spend money on books and I can also get the books I own already read.
Okay, so other than Goodwill, my younger and older sister and I went to the pet store. My younger sister has gerbils, so she wanted to get some bedding for them. There was a snake at the pet store that some lady was holding. It felt so cool. They also had this cute little bird that my older sister and I really wanted, but it was over $100! That’s my sister’s arm in the picture with the snake. And my older sister bought me this to hang in my apartment; she knows how much I HATE cleaning, so it’s perfect.
Earlier this week I posted how I got a ton of Bath & Body Works in the mail, well this week I also got some new TOMS and my book light. I am in love with both so much! The TOMS came with a pretty awesome bracelet!
And here are a couple of random pictures that I took this week. Purple flower in my backyard and tree branches and leaves that I thought looked pretty cool.
Anyway, that’s all for now! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Just in case you missed them, here are a couple of the last posts that I did.
Bye! ❤
Things that made me happy this weekend (kind of picture heavy):
Doctor Who references in a book I was reading.
Dax’s 5th birthday (feb. 8) and I would be lying if I said I remembered. I didn’t realize until I got an email from the vet saying Happy Birthday. BUT hey, I put a birthday hat on him and he was happy, so it was a win.
Random adventures and pretty scenery.
My kitten being his strange little self. It never gets old when he climbs into these.
And when he decides it’s cool to eat his food out of the container instead of waiting for me to put it in his bowl.
Chill Friday nights with a book and my furbabies.
And some more scenery that I am in love with. I love going to the tower at this park. It’s so high up and you can see the tops of trees and it’s the best.
I love random adventures and amazing scenery. All these places were literally right down the road from where I live. I love the area I live in because it always has great places to go and just relax and take in the beautiful of the world. I think most people live busy lives and forget to just look around and appreciate life and everything around us.
Were you able to do anything exciting or nice this weekend? Even jumping into a new world in a new book is great too!
I love living in Florida because the beach is always a good idea. It was super windy today and kind of chilly, but it was perfect. I decided to grab Ender’s Game to try to finish at the beach. It’s my last book for January, so I have to finish it today! I have family visiting from out of state, so I didn’t read much yesterday or today. I took tons of pictures at the beach, so here are some of the pictures I took. 🙂
Stopped by an observation tower before heading over to the pier. I climbed to the top and snapped some pictures.
The water at this particular beach was so beautiful! The color of it was so pretty. I loved it here. It was a really nice day out, so it was great.
Pelicans everywhere and they got really close. There were tons of people fishing on the pier, so they were probably hoping they got lucky and got some fish or bait. hah 😉
Using my Doctor Who bookmark. It was a tag from my TARDIS hoodie 🙂 lol
Overall it has been a good Saturday. Off to finally finish Ender’s Game and get ready for a cookout with the family. I was having fun taking pictures that I didn’t get to read that much. I got a chapter finished, oops! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and getting lots of reading done or having tons of fun! ❤
One day on the way home from work, my boyfriend and I turned down the wrong road and ran into a library! It looked fairly close to our house too and I was pretty excited about that. Today I decided to walk with my younger sister and my niece and nephew to the library.
We came across this pretty awesome sidewalk on the way. That’s my nephew skipping down it. And just so you know…the library wasn’t as close as I thought it was! We walked for what seemed like forever. I guess it seemed close because I was in the car last time I seen it, lol.
I also seen this really cute mailbox! Just in time for Valentine’s Day? Or maybe it’s their everyday mailbox. Who knows! It’s cute though. ❤ We finally get to the library and I was kind of disappointed with the size (it was such a small library) and the book selection. This is the second library I’ve been to in my area and both experiences weren’t that great.
Once we left the library we decided to get something to eat at Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlour & Restaurant and that was pretty good, but kind of pricey. You get a lot of food though, so I can see why it would be as much as it was.
On the way back the walk was not as great. It started to rain and we were carrying books and leftover food boxes! Not to mention we were all stuffed from lunch! We took a different route home and it still felt like forever to get there. Finally made it home and crashed on the couch.
In the end, I left the library with these two books to read over the weekend!
Ender’s Game & Artemis Fowl
I am pretty excited about reading them because they’ve been on my TBR list. It’ll also be a change reading an actual book. I mostly read on the Kindle app on my iPad, so it’ll be a change. I’m 90% sure that reading so much on my iPhone and my iPad is what caused me to now need glasses.
What are some of the books on your weekend reading list? 🙂
