Hey!

I didn’t realize that it was Wednesday and I wanted to do this post since last week. I guess the days are just blending together. I would have had this posted in the AM, but since I forgot…here it is at 4:30pm. 😛 Here is what I’ve been reading this week and what I hope to read next.

Currently Reading:

bromance

The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams

Everyone seems to be talking about The Bromance Book Club series, so I decided to finally read it. I am about a third of the way through it and so far it’s alright. I don’t have any complaints, but I’m also not that blown away by it just yet. Guess we’ll see what happens.

Recently Finished:

darkvanessa

My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell

I finished reading My Dark Vanessa the other day. I liked it and gave it three stars. It was hard to really rate this one, because of the subject matter. At least for me it was hard to rate. I did like it though. It was sad and heartbreaking, but also creepy and so messed up.

Reading Next:

sundownthetoll

The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
The Toll by Neal Shusterman

Honestly, I’m not really sure what I plan to read next. I’m just going by how I am feeling this month. I am trying not to put a lot of pressure on myself with last month not being so great for me. I have a few ARCs I may read and I also have these two e-books checked out from the library, so possibly one of these or the April ARCs that I have, or even something completely different. I have no idea!

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

I’ll catch up with your blog posts soon! I am trying to get back into the swing of things even though it’s taking me a bit longer than I want it to. 🙂

Hey!

It’s been almost a month since I’ve done one of these reading updates! I was in a pretty bad reading slump in February, so that’s why I wasn’t really doing any WWW posts took me WEEKS to finish a single book. I’m still having a pretty slow start this month with reading, but that’s okay. Here is what I’ve been reading this month and what I hope to read next.

Currently Reading:

infinityson

Infinity Son by Adam Silvera

I am currently reading Infinity Son and honestly, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it. A lot of things I felt weren’t really explained at the beginning and had me feeling so confused as to why things and people exist in the world. It’s set in NYC, but there are non-humans in the story and I just couldn’t figure out why and how it came to be. I’m honestly still unsure. I don’t know if I missed something when I was reading or if it was never mentioned, I have no idea! I’m halfway through it and want to try to finish it today or tomorrow.

Recently Finished:

starryeyes

Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett

I finally read Starry Eyes! I’ve been wanting to read this book for two years now and it finally happened. I really liked it and had so much fun reading it. It was cute and I really liked the main characters a lot. I was hoping it would be a five star read, but sadly it wasn’t. I gave it four stars though and that’s pretty awesome!

Reading Next:

wildatheartlittleuniverses

Wild at Heart by K.A. Tucker
Little Universes by Heather Demetrios (ARC 4/7/2020)

I’m not entirely sure on this one, because I did get some library books that I’ve been on hold for checked out to me. If I don’t go for one of the library books, then probably one of these books will be next and I’m so excited to read them. I am trying to stick with my March TBR as much as possible. I’ll post a link to my March TBR at the end of this post in case you want to check it out.

Hey!

So far in February I haven’t really been reading as much as I would have liked to, which is sad and annoying. I don’t know what is up with  me lately, but I just haven’t really felt like reading and that sucks! I’ve also been pretty busy the past two weeks with dogsitting so many dogs. I had a plan to read all day yesterday, but that ended up not happening because I watched the entire season (12 episodes) of The Circle on Netflix. I got so into it and couldn’t stop! If you don’t know, The Circle is this social media competition show. Hopefully today will be different? Fingers crossed. Anyway, here is what I read recently and may (or may not) read next.

Currently Reading:

girlswithrazorhearts

Girls with Razor Hearts by Suzanne Young

I am currently reading Girls with Razor Hearts. It’s the sequel to Girls with Sharp Sticks. I really loved Girls with Sharp Sticks, so I am excited to be reading the sequel. I’m only about 50-60 pages into it, but so far I like it. If you’re interested and have Kindle Unlimited, Girls with Sharp Sticks is free on Kindle Unlimited. Girls with Razor Hearts will be released next month (March).

Recently Finished:

darlingrosegold2

Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel

I recently finished Darling Rose Gold. It reminded me a lot of the Gypsy Rose Blanchard case, but it also was like a different twist on that real life story. I really liked this one and at times it was hard to put down. Most of it was really great, but I wasn’t too happy with the way it ended. You can check out my review linked at the end of this post.

Reading Next:

dragonhoopsheartstopper3

Dragon Hoops by Gene Luen Yang
Heartstopper: Volume Three by  Alice Oseman

I am not really sure what I am going to read next. I have a few more ARCs that I have planned to read and then my copy of Heartstopper Volume 3 was just delivered to me the other day, so I may end up reading that as soon as possible. Dragon Hoops is one of the ARCs that I plan to read this month, so maybe my next reads will be some graphic novels, so I don’t feel so bad about not reading a ton this month. I usually fly through graphic novels in a day. Maybe they’ll also get me excited about reading again and get me out of this slump or whatever it is I’m in.

Hey!

This month is actually off to a really great start and I am only ONE book away from completely my Godoreads challenge! I am going to jump right into my WWW Wednesday post for today. This is what I’ve been reading so far this month and what I will hopefully be reading next.

Currently Reading:

theafterlifelordofshadows

The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

I wanted a Christmas vibe book, so I finally decided to pick up my copy of The Afterlife of Holly Chase. It’s an A Christmas Carol retelling and I am stoked! I’m not that far into it, but so far it’s interesting. I haven’t actually started Lord of Shadows yet, but I plan to start the audiobook today while I work.

Recently Finished:

puddinanyboybutyouforeveroneladymidnight

Puddin’ by Julie Murphy
Any Boy But You by Julie Hammerle
For Every One by Jason Reynolds
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

I’ve finished quite a few books over the first 10 days of December! Two audiobooks and two books that I read myself. The audiobooks were Puddin’ and Lady Midnight. I really enjoyed both books. I was on the fence about even reading Lady Midnight, because I have a love/hate for the Mortal Instruments series (first four books were great and then the series went downhill for me). BUT my library had the Lady Midnight audiobook available so I decided to just give it a chance and I actually really liked it. The books that I read myself were For Everyone and Any Boy But You, both were great; especially Any Boy But You. I flew through it in two days and had so much fun reading it. I flew through For Everyone in thirty minutes though because it was short book written in verse, so it was a quick read. Here’s one of my favorite pages from For Everyone:

012b4bad-81b8-4db2-a59f-32599ab02bd7

“All of us out here,
slumped over wearing
weird fake
broken smiles,
trying to avoid the truth:
that we all got road rage.”

I related to this so much, especially lately.

Reading Next:

husbandmaterialluckycaller

Husband Material by Emily Belden
Lucky Caller by Emma Mills

I am not really sure what I am going to read next, honestly. I have a December release ARC (Husband Material) that I need to read and a few January ones (Lucky Caller being one of them), so I may give those a chance or I might see if I can find another Christmas book that I can read before the month ends. I think I have a couple other Christmassy books on my Kindle. We shall see what happens!

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

Life has been so weird and so difficult and I got some pretty bad news last week, so I’ve been down even more than I already have been. I’ve been working on some 2020 posts and 2019 recap post though and I can’t wait to share those. I even upgraded my blog, so I could get some more photo storage so be on the look out for more picture/travel posts again! I miss doing those so much, so I am glad I was able to get some extra photo storage space until I can figure out a more permanent solution. I’m hoping 2020 I’ll be more active here. More about that toward the end of the month though.

And now I will leave you with a picture of my cat Leaf in a sweater, because she looks ridiculously cute in it and I have to share it EVERYWHERE. 😛 I originally bought the sweater for my dog, but it ended up being too small for him so I had to let Leaf try it on. She’s the only cat of my three that would ever let me get close enough to do this, haha. She had no idea what to do, so she kind of just sat there until I took it off her. She was not a fan.

Hey!

I am going to just jump right into my WWW Wednesday post for today. This is what I’ve been reading this past week and what I will hopefully be reading next.

Currently Reading:

franklyinlovethelibrarian

Frankly in Love by David Yoon
The Librarian of Auschwitz by Antonio Iturbe

I started Frankly in Love a couple days ago and I’m about 35% into it. So far I am really enjoying it. There has been quite a few laugh out loud moments so far and I am excited to see what happens. I am starting to audiobook today The Librarian of Auschwitz. I’ve been wanting to read it for awhile now, so I am excited to finally be starting it today.

Recently Finished:

overthetop

Over the Top by Jonathan Van Ness

I flew through Over the Top in pretty much a day and a half. It was so hard to put down. I love the Queer Eye guys (show) and it was so great getting a closer look into Jonathan Van Ness’ life. He’s such an amazing person and went through so many things in his life. I am really glad he’s the person he is today even through all the horrible things he went through and had struggled with throughout his life.

Reading Next:

regrettingyou

Regretting You by Colleen Hoover

I am so stoked to read Regretting You next. I am a big Colleen Hoover fan, so I can’t wait to dive into this one and get my review up right after.

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

In my previous entry I mentioned going to my friend’s Halloween party, it ended up being a lot of fun. I dressed up as a ghost, but it was a super simple costume. I just wore a poncho that had a ghost face on it, lol. I liked it though. I haven’t done a picture update in awhile and I really want to do one. I think I may do one at the end of the month with all my best pictures/moments from the rest of the year since my last update. So hopefully that post will be coming at some point in December. Maybe I can finally figure something out for next year with my blog and the lack of photo space I have now. That’s what’s been preventing me from doing anymore of my picture updates. I’m at 87% photo storage used, ughh.

Hey!

It’s been a little over a month since my last WWW post, so I decided to make one today. I haven’t really been blogging so much this month, but I have been reading! October has been a better month than I had last month, that’s for sure. Since it’s almost the end of the month, which means my monthly wrap up will be coming soon, I won’t list every single book I read since my last update so I can save it for that post haha. Here is what I’ve been reading this past week though and what I will hopefully be reading next.

Currently Reading:

beyondtheblackdoordrmutters

Beyond the Black Door by A.M. Strickland
Dr. Mutter’s Marvels by Cristin O’Keefe Aptowicz

I actually just started Beyond the Black Door today, so I am only about ten pages into it. It seems interesting though and I’m really excited about it. It’s almost 400 pages, so I don’t know if I’ll actually have it finished before the end of October but I am really hoping. I am listening to the audiobook of Dr. Mutter’s Marvels: A True Tale of Intrigue and Innovation at the Dawn of Modern Medicine. That full title is a mouthful, haha. I’m about 70% into it and it’s actually pretty interesting.

Recently Finished:

inspection

Inspection by Josh Malerman

I just finished Inspection today and while I did like it, it didn’t blow me away. It was still really good, but it was a slow burn at times. I wanted to know what was happening so bad and it felt like it took so long to get there. It was still pretty interesting though and I’m glad I read it.

Reading Next:

I’m actually not entirely sure what I will read next, because I don’t think that I will be done with my current read by the end of the month. I do have a Halloween TBR that you can check out linked at the end of this post. I have some books listed there that I would read next *if* I get Beyond the Black Door finished. I started to create a November TBR, which consists of 3 or 4 ARCs so maybe one of those.

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

October wrap up and October book haul will be coming soon as I mentioned earlier. I’m glad I actually been reading more this month. I was so disappointed that I didn’t read as much last month. I will end this post with a few pictures that I took at a little pumpkin patch. My friend, her nephew, my hubby, and I went Pokemon Hunting for community day and stumbled upon a little pumpkin patch at a church. It was so random and I was so stoked about it. We were walking around the lake catching Pokemon and I see all these pumpkins from afar and I’m like “OMGGGGG” haha.

So many pumpkins in all shapes, colors, and sizes. I was in pumpkin heaven. We (well mostly me, haha) looking at all the pumpkins. They practically had to drag me away. 😛

Hey!

It’s been a pretty crazy and somewhat stressful September so far. I didn’t really have time for much reading, so I’ve been stuck on the same books all month. I am going to just jump right with the books that I’ve been reading so far this month and that I hope to read next.

Currently Reading:

swiperightformurderghosting

Swipe Right for Murder by Derek Milman
Ghosting by Edith Pattou

I don’t usually pick up multiple books at a time, but I did this time around. I’m reading Swipe Right for Murder, which is pretty interesting, but turning out to be something different that I originally thought. I will have a review up once I get around to finishing it. I’m also reading Ghosting, because it sounded good. I also picked it up because it’s written in verse and I usually fly through those types of books. My Kindle Unlimited subscription ends next month, so I wanted to read it before it does since I got it through there. I have been focusing more on Swipe Right for Murder though, so hopefully I finish it soon so that I can finish Ghosting.

Recently Finished:

godsofjade

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

I didn’t actually finish Gods of Jade and Shadow. I decided to mark it as DNF about 50% through it. I wasn’t into it and found myself really bored. I was listening to the audiobook. I haven’t actually finished a book since my August wrap up, sadly. There has been things happening in my life and I just haven’t been up to reading or really have the time to read for long periods of time. I even went the first seven days of the month not reading a single thing. I finally started to pick up my books again over the weekend.

Reading Next:

somedaynormalpeoplemiraclecreek

Someday by David Levithan
Normal People by Sally Rooney
Miracle Creek by Angie Kim

I’m thinking I may read Someday next, because I’ve been wanting to read this book for so long now. I loved Every Day when I read it a few years ago. I got the audiobooks of Normal People and Miracle Creek from my library, so I will probably be listening to those next. I’ve been on hold for awhile, so I am stoked I finally got them. I do have some ARCs I need to read as well, so honestly my “reading next” is up in the air.

Hey!

I’m still kind of in this reading/blogging slump, which sucks. I just want to be back to normal with things, UGH. I had so many library e-books get checked out to me at the exact same time (that’s how it always goes) and I ended up having to sadly return them all and get back on the hold lists, because I knew I would never get to them this month with this slump and with the other books that I plan to read.

I’ve been trying to push through though, so when I’m not glued to true crime TV shows (currently it’s Homicide Hunter, I love Joe Kenda), I am reading here and there. I’m trying to get a lot of my ARCs read and reviewed, so all the books you see in this post are ARCs. That’s another reason why I decided on returning all of my library books even though I had been on hold FOREVER for them. I want to read all my review books first. Here are the books that I’ve been reading and hope to read next.

Currently Reading:

wildergirls

Wilder Girls by Rory Power

I am currently reading Wilder Girls right now and so far it’s pretty interesting. I’ve seen it marketed as being like Lord of the Flies. I loved Lord of the Flies, so I’m here for it. Right from the start it was really creepy and crazy what is happening to these girls. It’s actually disturbing and also addicting to read. Maybe this will be the book to get my out of my reading slump? I’m currently 25% into it. Wilder Girls was just released yesterday, so it’s out in the world if you’re interested. Review to come as soon as I finish it.

Recently Finished:

soulofthesword

Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa

I finished Soul of the Sword the other day and it was everything I hoped it would be! I loved it so much. It was a lot fun to read and I was so stoked to be back in that world. I actually posted my review for this one on Monday, which I will link at the end of this post. I highly recommend picking up Shadow of the Fox (first book). This series is so amazing so far and I am dying for that third book.

Reading Next:

spinthedawn

Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim

Next up I’ll hopefully be reading Spin the Dawn. It’s marketed as “Project Runway meets Mulan” and I am LIVING for that. I remember watching all the Project Runway seasons when I was younger and I love Mulan. I hope I love it, because I need a physical copy of this haha. That cover is amazing. Spin the Dawn was just released yesterday as well, so it’s out in the world if you are interested.

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

I am hoping to catch up with all of your posts and comments either today or tomorrow. I am still working on my picture update post and my mid-year freak out tag. I’ve been kind of hestant about the picture update post, because I’m already so close to being out of picture space on here. I’m nervous that if I upload the 50+ pictures I have, it’ll take all of my space. That’s mostly why I haven’t done it yet. I need to figure something out with that or I guess upgrade my account to the next level, so I can more space. Feel free to follow me on Instagram if you do want to see some pictures until I figure out what to do with this situation. My username is: heyyitsashley. Anyway, that’s all for now.

Hey!

I’ve been feeling like I’m in a reading & blogging slump the last week and a half, which has really sucked. Things are just weird right now. Currently Reading:

redwhiteroyalbluenaturallytan

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Naturally Tan by Tan France

I’ve been seeing Red, White & Royal Blue everywhere and I’ve been dying to read it. I had it on hold at my library, but got tired of waiting so I broke down and bought myself a copy of my own. I love Queer Eye and I love Tan France, so I’ve been switching between reading Red, White & Royal Blue and Naturally Tan. I am almost halfway through both books and I am really enjoying them both. Red, White & Royal Blue has so many laugh out loud moments. I love the way Tan writes and it’s been so interesting reading about his life and adventures in his book Naturally Tan.

I was sent an ARC on Netgalley of Virtually Yours and decided to pick it up ASAP because it was releasing soon after I got it approved. I was approved a week before release day. I actually really liked this one and had fun reading it. You can check out my full review linked at the end of this post.

Reading Next:

Soul of the Sword by Julie Kagawa
On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong

AHHH!! I was approved for Soul of the Sword on Netgalley last week and I can’t wait to dive into it. I was planning to reread the first book (Shadow of the Fox) before reading the sequel, but since I got approved on Netgalley and it’s releasing next week (!!!), I am just going to dive right into it. I honestly wasn’t sure I was even going to be approved because I requested it so long and the fact that it’s coming out this month I kind of gave up hope on that request, HAHA. BUT here we are…I am so excited! I can’t wait for my physical copy to get here though. My library hold for On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous was checked out to me, so I may be reading that one as well. Jeff Zentner gave it so much love and I love Jeff Zentner, so I have to read all the books he recommends, lol. 😛

Hey!

I am really happy with my progress that I’ve been making this month. It’s steady, which is great. I could probably read more, but I like the pace I am going this month. I am reading the books that I need to read, writing my reviews, and actually enjoying them. I am also finding time to do other things like catch up with my LONG list of shows that I’ve recorded throughout the last few weeks. So that’s really awesome!

And speaking of shows, the hubby & I watched the entire season (only six episodes) of After Life on Netflix in one day and OMG that show is everything. We were both pretty much crying every single episode, haha. It was so damn good and I really hope there is another season. I love the shows that Ricky Gervais creates/stars in. I thought we were going into this really funny comedy show and I was so wrong. While it was still had so many laugh out loud moments, there were also so many that were sad and had us crying. I definitely recommend checking it out. Anyway, here are the books that I’ve been reading and hope to read next.

Currently Reading:

wecontainmultitudeschildrenofbloodandbone

We Contain Multitudes by Sarah Henstra
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

I am currently reading my ARC of We Contain Multitudes and listening to the audiobook of Children and Blood and Bone. I am so in love with We Contain Multitudes so far. It’s told completely in letters between the two main characters, which I really love. I was sucked in from the minute I started the book. I could have had this finished the day I started it, but I don’t want it to end so I keep reading it really slow. I’ve owned Children of Blood and Bone since it released last year, but I seen that the library had the audiobook available so I decided to check it out. I hope I love it, because that cover for the sequel is amazing and I want to own it HAHA. 😛 So far it’s interesting though and I’m enjoying it. I’m a little over 100 pages into it.

Recently Finished:

somewhereonlyweknowsevenhusbands

Somewhere Only We Know by Maurene Goo
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkin Reid

I recently finished Somewhere Only We Know and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Somewhere Only We Know was such a fun and cute read. I really enjoyed that one. I’ll link my review at the end of this post if you want to check it out. I liked Evelyn Hugo, but I sadly didn’t love it. It was still good though and I’m glad I read it. I actually listened to the audiobook and the audiobook version was really great. The story itself just didn’t pull me in completely and I didn’t fall in love with it like I hoped I would and like I did with Daisy Jones & the Six.

Reading Next:

goingoffscript

Going Off Script by Jen Wilde

Up next is another May ARC (Going Off Script), which I am really excited for. I also have about five audiobooks checked out at the library right now, so I will most likely start one of those once I finish the Children of Blood and Bone audiobook. I’m not sure which one I’ll listen to next, but my choices are Red Rising, Exit West, Since We Fell, The Last Mrs. Parish, and The Bear and the Nightingale. Have you read any of these? If so, which do you recommend?

Hey!

I am making some pretty good progress with my reading so far this month, which is pretty exciting. I really hope it continues! I have quite a few ARCs that I need/want to read this month, so I am trying to read those right away. I am also trying so hard to stay away from the library this month, so that I can read the books that I already have and catch up on ARCs. Here are the books that I’ve been reading and hope to read next.

Currently Reading:

somewhereonlyweknowsevenhusbands

Somewhere Only We Know by Maurene Goo
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkin Reid

I am currently reading my ARC of Somewhere Only We Know and so far I am really enjoying it. It’s been a lot of fun so far. It was released yesterday (May 7th), so I am hoping I can finish it soon and get my review posted. I am also listening to the audiobook of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I really like the audiobook and the way the story is being told, but the story itself is not blowing me away. I’m finding myself a little bored a times. It’s not as good as Daisy Jones & the Six was, that’s for sure. I am hoping to finish the audiobook at some point today. Maybe this last little bit will be really great. I think I only have about three hours left on the audiobook.

Recently Finished:

shouthappymessyscarylove

Shout by Laurie Halse Anderson
Happy Messy Scary Love by Leah Konen

Shout was such a great book. I loved the poetry and I loved reading about Laure Halse’s life and the way that she told it. It’s a really emotional and deals with so many tough situations. Happy Messy Scary Love was such an amazing book. I loved it so much and flew through it in a day. It was so hard to put down. I had so much fun reading it. I’ll link my review at the end of this post if you want to check it out.

Reading Next:

wecontainmultitudes

We Contain Multitudes by Sarah Henstra

Next up I plan to read We Contain Multitudes. I have been really looking forward to this one and I was so stoked when I received an ARC in the mail from the publisher. It releases next week, so I want to read this one ASAP and get my review up. I may or may not listen to an audiobook at some point as well, but haven’t found one yet.

Hey!

I’ve actually been doing really well with reading this week. I’ve read a couple books myself and also listened to a couple of audiobooks since my post last week. I’m trying to read as much as I can before the end of the month, because I really want to try to read all the books on my “unofficial” April TBR. It’s REALLY ambitious and I have five books left on the list, plus two more that are bonus if I actually finish the five. CROSSING FINGERS! Anyway, here are the books that I’ve been reading and hope to read next.

Currently Reading:

cherrytherethere

Cherry by Nico Walker (Library)
There There by Tommy Orange (Audiobook)

I am currently reading Cherry, which so far it’s okay. I’m only about 15% into it, so not a lot has happened yet. I’m not bored with it though, so that’s good at least. Hopefully it picks up even more soon. I’m listening to the audiobook There There, which I may be able to have finished today depending on if I continue to listen to it straight through work. I’m a little bit halfway through it. So far it’s okay, but it’s not blowing me away or anything. Maybe that will change in the second half.

Recently Finished:

summerof69thebookofessiethebrokengirls

Summer of ’69 by Todd Strasser (Netgalley)
The Book of Essie by Meghan MacLean Weir (Library)
The Broken Girls by Simone St. James (Audiobook)

I recently finished Summer of ’69, which was such an amazing book. I loved it. I’ll link my review at the end of this post. I also finished The Book of Essie. I really loved The Book of Essie. I also listened to These Broken Girls, which I thought was good. It didn’t blow me away, but it was still a good read and was interesting.

Reading Next:

girlswithsharpstickstellmelieswerulethenight

Girls with Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young
Tell Me Lies by Carola Lovering (Library)
We Rule the Night by Claire Eliza Bartlett (Physical ARC)

This week my “reading next” list looks almost the same as last week. I strayed a little bit from the list this week by reading The Book of Essie instead of Cherry, Tell Me Lies, or We Rule the Night first. OOPS. I included two of those back to my “reading next” list and I also added Girls with Sharp Sticks as well, because I think I will be reading that one right after Cherry. I was sent a finished copy last week from the publisher in exchange for an honest review and since the book is already released, I want to read it ASAP so I can get my review up.

Hey!

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve last done this type of post. I usually just do them in the beginning of the month since my wrap up post usually follows at the end. Anyway, I don’t really have a whole lot to say, so I am just going to get right into the books that I have been reading and what I hope to read next.

Currently Reading:

summerof69thebrokengirls

Summer of ’69 by Todd Strasser (Netgalley)
The Broken Girls by Simone St. James

I am currently reading Summer of ’69 and listening to the audiobook of The Broken Girls. So far I am pretty into Summer of ’69. I love all the hippie vibes and everything. It is kind of a slow start though, so I am hoping it picks up more soon. I am almost finished with The Broken Girls. I’ll probably have it finished today. I only have a couple hours left on the audiobook. It’s an interesting story, but I do find myself getting pretty bored at times. I do like it though and can’t wait to see how it ends.

Recently Finished:

heartstopper

Heartstopper Vol 1 by Alice Oseman

I have been impatiently waiting for my copy of Heartstopper to come in from Book Depository and it finally did the other day. I read it that day, because I couldn’t resist. It’s a graphic novel, so it was a quick read. It was such a great story too. I loved it. I also found out at the end of the story that it’s about characters from another one of Alice Oseman’s books (Solitaire), so I plan to read that one ASAP! I also really can’t wait for volume two of Heartstopper. It gets released later this year. I am just including what I recently finished this month (April) since I just did my wrap up post. You can check out some of my other recently finished books in my March wrap up linked at the end of this post.

Reading Next:

cherrytellmelieswerulethenight

Cherry by Nico Walker (Library)
Tell Me Lies by Carola Lovering (Library)
We Rule the Night by Claire Eliza Bartlett (Physical ARC)

I honestly have no idea what I am going to read next. I always say I am going to read one thing and end up reading something else. I’ve been a really big mood reader this year. I have three options that I am really leaning toward because 1. they are library books that I need to read before they get returned or 2. they are ARCs that I really need to read and get reviewed ASAP. It could be any of these books that I read next, but I am leaning heavily on Cherry, because I read the first 10 or so pages and I was really into it. I had to stop myself though, because 1. it was like 3:30am when I couldn’t fall back to sleep and I needed to try to sleep and 2. I need to finish my current read first, haha. I also need to read Tell Me Lies soonish before it gets returned to the library. We Rule the Night was just released yesterday, so I want to read that one soon too because I need to get a review up for it. So many books to read!!

Hey!

Not going to lie, I am kind of getting stir crazy being home pretty much 24/7 now that I work from home. I feel like I never leave the house and if you know me, I am a person that actually loves being at home so this is new. I still have boxes to unpack, but I’ve been kind of just ignoring them and reading or watching TV instead. Here is what I’ve been reading the last week and a half and what I hope to read soon.

Currently Reading:

reid_9781524798628_jkt_all_r1.indd

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I am currently reading Daisy Jones & The Six and I am really enjoying it. I definitely really like this one. I am 60% into it and I should have it finished today. It’s so addicting to read. It’s honestly so hard to stop and I curse work and adult responsibilities because I just want to read it all day. I love how it reads like a documentary. It goes back and forth between the different people involved in Daisy Jones & The Six band telling their story of past events and their stardom. It’s so rock ‘n’ roll and I am living for it.

Recently Finished:

youaskedforperfectthetest

You Asked for Perfect by Laura Silverman
The Test by Sylvain Neuvel

I recently finished You Asked for Perfect and The Test. I liked You Asked for Perfect, but it didn’t blow me away like I had hoped it would. It was still a good read and I actually flew through it. It was really easy to read and the characters were really likable. I didn’t relate to it too much and I think that’s why it didn’t blow me away. I can see why so many people really love it though and I would definitely recommend checking it out. The Test….HOLY CRAP! This book was insane! It was intense! And I honestly can’t even put my thoughts into words. I loved it so much and gave it five stars!! I still think about it. It’s a pretty short story, but it’s so damn good that you don’t even notice how short it is. You’re sucked right into it from the start, it’s crazy.

Reading Next:

summerof69beautyofthemomentheroine

Summer of ’69 by Todd Strasser (Netgalley)
The Beauty of the Moment by Tanaz Bhathena (Physical ARC)
Heroine by Mindy McGinnis

I said March would be a month full of ARCs and it hasn’t really worked out that way….YET! I am really hoping to at least get The Beauty of the Moment and Summer of ’69 read this month. Heroine is one of my most anticipated book releases of the year and it finally released yesterday, so I may have to read that one next or really soon. So it’s looking like one of these will be my next read.

Hey!

I haven’t done one of these posts since October of last year, YIKES! 😛 I figured I might as well get back into them, because it’s fun to share my reading progress throughout the month and to check out everyone else’s! Here are the books that I’ve been reading this week and ones that I hope to read really soon.

Currently Reading:

crookedkingdomsoldierandaliar

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
A Soldier and a Liar by Caitlin Lochner

Trying to stay on top of series this year by continuing them instead of putting them to the side after reading the first book, so I picked up Crooked Kingdom ASAP after reading Six of Crows. So far I really like it. I was sent an ARC of A Soldier and a Liar, so I am reading that one as well. It’s being released this month, so I want to get it read and reviewed ASAP. So far it’s pretty interesting. I’m only about 60 pages into it.

Recently Finished:

sunandherflowers

The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur

I read Rupi’s book Milk and Honey last year, so I wanted to check out more of her work. I flew through the poems in The Sun and Her Flowers. They were good and I liked them. I really liked the illustrations that went along with some of the poems as well.

Reading Next:

justforclicksbeautyofthemoment

Just for Clicks by Kara McDowell
The Beauty of the Moment by Tanaz Bhathena

These are both ARCs that are releasing this month, so I want to get them read and reviewed. I am really looking forward to the both of them. I don’t know exactly when I will get to them since I am really busy this month with other life things, but I will for sure be reading these two next as soon as I finish my two current reads.

I mentioned in my wrap up post how this month was going to be crazy busy with packing and moving, so I am pretty much just trying to fit in reading and blogging when I can. It’s going to be a little hectic this month, sigh. Hopefully things get back to normal in March though.

Hey!

I had a pretty good reading week for the first week of October. I was actually able to finish three books. It makes me hopeful that I might be able to actually read a lot of the books that I had on my TBR for this month. Here are the books that I’ve been reading and ones that I hope to read really soon.

Currently Reading:

childrentotheslaughtersadie

Children to the Slaughter by A.I. Nasser
Sadie by Courtney Summers

I am reading Children to the Slaughter and that’s part of my Halloweenie TBR. It’s pretty interesting so far. I had Sadie on hold for a bit, because I had some ARCs that I wanted to get read and reviewed, but I will hopefully be picking it back up this week to finish it ASAP.

Recently Finished:

babyteethThe No-Good Nineiwillfindyou

Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage
The No-Good Nine by John Bemelmans Marciano
I Will Find You by Joe Kenda

I liked Baby Teeth. It was really creepy, but I thought the ending kind of sucked. It got really boring toward the end and wasn’t what I expected. It was still good though. I enjoyed The No-Good Nine, it was pretty good for being a middle grade book. I do like some middle grade stuff though. They’re always fun to read. I’ll have a review up for it tomorrow. I Will Find You was pretty amazing. If you’re a true crime fan, you’ll really enjoy it. I posted a review for it a couple days ago and it’ll be linked at the end of this post if you want to check it out.

Reading Next:

thewaroutsidedearevanmysisterrosasixofcrows

The War Outside by Monica Hesse
Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich
My Sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Honestly, I have no idea what I am going to read next. I have so many options to choose from. I have a couple ARCs I need to read (first two books above) and a couple books from my library that I need to read (last two books above) before they get returned. With the majority of my books packed away, I’ve had to rely on the library for even the books that I own. My Sister Rosa is for my Halloweenie TBR and Six of Crows I’ve been on hold for MONTHS at my library and it finally got checked out to me. I don’t know why Six of Crows was one of the books that I packed away when I knew I wanted to read it this year. At least I finally got it from my library though. It could be any of these four that I read next (or maybe something totally different), but I’m really not too. Guess we’ll see what happens by next Wednesday!

I hope to find some time later this week to catch up with all of your posts and comments. It’s been a pretty busy weekend and week so far for me. I also haven’t been feeling good, so I haven’t been up to doing too much. I always catch up though, so I’m not too worried about that. 🙂

Hey!

I actually read quite a few books over the last couple of weeks even with going days without reading anything. I was also able to complete my Goodreads challenge last week, so that was exciting. I’m going to just jump right into what I’ve been reading and the ones I hope to read really soon.

Currently Reading:

SHADOWOFTHEFOXsadie

Shadow of the Fox by Julie Kagawa
Sadie by Courtney Summers

I like to read a physical book and an e-book at the same time, because I don’t always bring my physical books around with me, so I am currently reading Shadow of the Fox and Sadie. I am BEYOND stoked to be reading Shadow of the Fox, because you all probably know that the Talon series is one of my all-time favorites and Julie Kagawa is EVERYTHING. I am also really excited about Sadie too, because I’ve heard so many great things about it and I am really hoping it lives up to all the hype. I just started these both, so I don’t have any real opinions yet, but so far they are both really interesting and i’m excited to continue reading.

Recently Finished:

alwaysandforeverfivepeopleyoumeetinheavennotevenbones

Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han
The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
Not Even Bones by Rebecca Shaeffer

I finished off the To All the Boys series by reading Always and Forever, Lara Jean. I actually finished that book pretty quickly (two days). It was pretty good and a good ending to the series. I will say though, there were some characters (Kitty, for example) that I really liked in the first book that ended up annoying me so much by the end of the series. She bugged me in book two and by book three I couldn’t stand her anymore. I reread (well listened) The Five People You Meet in Heaven, because I am hoping to read the sequel really soon and I am STOKED! I just finished Not Even Bones yesterday and OMG it was fantastic! I’ll have my review posted either later today or tomorrow, so be on the look out!

Reading Next:

thewaroutsidedearevan

The War Outside by Monica Hesse
Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich

I had Dear Evan Hansen on a previous list, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Hopefully really soon. I am really looking forward to it, just haven’t had the chance to actually get to it yet. The War Outside is releasing next week, so I hope to get to this one really soon as well. I read Monica Hesse’s other book The Girl in the Blue Coat and loved it, so I am stoked to read her new book.

Hey!

This is a short work week for me, which I am so stoked about. I only had/have to work Tuesday, today, and half a day tomorrow. I managed to finish one book this week and almost finish another. I also have a few books coming up next that I am really excited about! Here are the books that I’ve been reading this week and hope to read really soon.

Currently Reading:

temptationofadam

The Temptation of Adam by Dave Connis

I thought about marking The Temptation of Adam as DNF, but I decided to continue to read it since I only have 30% left of the book and could most likely finish it today if I pushed through it. I really liked the first half of the book and thought it was really good, but then I started to get insanely bored and one of the characters (Dez) started to really annoying me and I honestly can’t stand her. She makes it so hard to want to read the rest of the book, which is such a disappointment because I really liked the beginning a lot. I even liked Dez at first, but now not so much. Guess we’ll see what happens today on whether I finish the book or continue with the DNF status.

Recently Finished:

psistillloveyou

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han

I finished P.S. I Still Love You last night and while I really did like the book, it didn’t blow me away as much as I was hoping it would. It was definitely not better than the first book in my opinion. I found myself bored quite a bit while reading this one. I also have mixed feelings about the ending. I’ll probably still read the third book though. I have a few ARCs to get to first. I hope the third book is better than this one was.

Reading Next:

notevenbonessadiedearevan

Not Even Bones by Rebecca Shaeffer
Sadie by Courtney Summers
Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich

These are my options for my reading next. I’m not entirely sure which one I will read next, but it will most likely be one of these three. I am really stoked for every single one of them. I am leaving tomorrow for a mini weekend trip which involves A LOT of hours in the car (there and back), so I should be able to get a lot of reading in. Maybe I’ll even get the chance to finish all three? I want to use this trip to catch up on some ARCs. I even downloaded like 100+ books to my Kindle JUST in case I need more options. 😛

Hey!

This won’t have a ton of pictures like usual, because I haven’t really been taking very many pictures these days. But I do have a few of neat ones from the weekend and some pictures that I found on my old camera. Also a desk tour, because why not? lol. I am skipping my usual WWW Wednesday post, so I can post this instead. I’ll put a little reading update at the end of this post though. First though….food, as always. 😛

The hubby finished school last week and to celebrate we went out for pizza and fried ravioli at our new favorite Italian restaurant. I usually always get the BBQ chicken pizza and he usually always gets the buffalo chicken pizza. It’s so good and it passes the cold pizza test. Their fried ravioli is so freaking good, so we have to get it every single time we go. I’m already craving them again and it’s only been six days since I had them. 😛

4b0b16a9-a526-4c1e-90ee-c64f1e2887c5

The Umbrella Sky Project was happening in Miami, so the hubby and I decided to go check it out. It original started in Portugal for an art festival, but then other cities around the world started to do it. Basically during the hot summer months they’ll string a bunch of umbrellas up as shade for people. They’ll be taking them down in September, so I wanted to go see it before that happens. It was really neat and pretty. A guy that lives over there told us that when they first put the umbrellas up they were a lot more colorful and brighter, but the colors started to fade. I still think they look really neat though. Below are some more pictures of it.

f1012df5-18ca-455a-a32e-520f79c9abe2

I set up my desk area our apartment. I really like how it came out. I’ve been neglecting finishing up my school stuff (sigh), but I am hoping now that I have my desk all setup, it’ll motivate me to finally finish it. I’m kind of close to being finished with all the work. I am hoping to have it finish by the end of next month.

On the left I have some notebooks and school book, one basket with post-its and page flags, one with sharpie markers, desk organizer that just has random things in it that I need to clean out. A box that has note cards in it, because I have an obsession with buying all of Target’s dollar bin note cards. A cork board (and dry erase board behind it) that I need to hang up, a stack of books that I hope to read soon. A cat mug, some candles, a Stranger Things coaster, my butterbeer mug from Harry Potter World that is being used as a pencil/pen holder. Some paper clips (I have some others that are currently MIA right now and I am annoyed that I can’t find them), armadillo lamp, my laptop, my desktop computer, some random faux succulent plants, and my TARDIS Funko Pop. Hanging on the wall I have a Sherlock print, Supernatural print, and a Doctor Who print. At the time of this picture the hubby hung them up crooked but I have since fixed them because it was bugging me LOL. Under my desk I have some baskets with a bunch of miscellaneous things in them.

A couple random pictures. I took this picture the bird on the power lines awhile ago when I first got my Nikon D3400. I actually didn’t like that picture, but then I was going through my memory card again to delete pictures and I decided to transfer it to my phone anyway and I ended up really loving it, lol. I found my “whatever forever” bracelet and perfect timing, because I need to live this like I used to. I’m letting stresses of life affect me way too much lately and I hate it because I was never like this. I started to wear it every day again as I reminder.

27441d52-4d32-496a-ae09-4c4c910493d0

The sunset from Friday night. It was storming really bad, but once the storm was over the sky looked like this. I love the shades of orange. It was really pretty and I of course had to get a picture of it. I’ve said it a million times, I am sucker for the sunset.

I found my old digital camera that I bought back in 2016 for our California trip and there were still pictures from California on it. These four a pictures that I took when we went to Monterey Bay, California. Such a pretty town! I definitely want to go back to California again.

Random selfie from Friday. The picture on the right is Leaf and I watching Pocahontas. Funny story, so I was talking to Leaf (because I always talk to my furbabies, lol) and I was listing all the shows on Netflix that we should watch. Secretly hoping she would answer back and pick one, because you know…maybe cats can truly talk? 😛 Eventually she got bored with me and ran off, so I chose Pocahontas. Then she comes back and I say to her “oh, you came to watch Pocahontas with me! You’re in for a real treat.”, haha. Crazy cat lady….for damn sure.

Here is my mini reading update. I usually do a WWW Wednesday post on most Wednesdays, but I really wanted to post this little picture update, so I am including a mini WWW Wednesday down below.

Currently Reading: Ghosted by Rosie Walsh. So far it’s pretty interesting. I’m not too far into it, but I like it so far. It’s one of my most anticipated reads of the year, so I am hoping it’s amazing.

Recently Finished: #MurderTrending and Florida. #MurderTrending was so good! You can check out my review linked below. Florida was just okay. It wasn’t anything too exciting. It wasn’t what I expected it to be.

Reading Next: I am hoping to read All Your Perfects next! I am so stoked to read the new Colleen Hoover book. Hopefully I can start that at some point this week or definitely next week if not. I am EXCITED!

Hey!

I am pretty sure I am battling a reading slump. I also am going through some stuff right now, so my mind is elsewhere and it’s been so hard to focus on reading. I also got addicted to watching all of these baking shows on Netflix. I spent an entire weekend in bed watching season one of Sugar Rush, then I moved onto Zumbo’s Just Desserts and finished the rest of the season for that last night. LOL. I’ve been trying to read here and there though. Here is what I’ve been reading…

Currently Reading:

theshadowmindsjournalmurdertrendingflorida

The Shadow Minds Journal by Kia Carrington-Russell
#MurderTrending by Gretchen McNeil
Florida by Lauren Groff

So I mentioned a reading slump and because of that reading slump I have been starting a bunch of different books hoping that one will grab my attention long enough for me to read longer than just a few minutes. I started #MurderTrending because it was just released and I need to do my review. It’s actually pretty good so far. I’m almost halfway through it. I had also started another book before this one called Hunger by Roxane Gay. I was interested in the first half of it, but then I started to lose interest and stopped. I’ll have more about it at the end of the month in my wrap up.

I am also still reading The Shadow Minds Journal, it’s pretty interesting but this dang reading slump is killing my reading vibes. I am also listening to the audiobook for Florida. I’ve had that on hold at my library for FOREVER and it finally got checked out to me. It’s interesting so far, but nothing “wow” worthy yet. It’s short stories though, so maybe it won’t. I don’t have the best of luck with these short stories books. I figured it would be interesting though since they all center around Florida and I live in Florida. Honestly, I might have to just take a break from books altogether for a little while. I’m not that into anything it seems and I think it more has to do with me than it does the books.

Recently Finished:

I haven’t finished any books this week, sadly. You can check out my July Wrap Up post where you can see all the books that I read last month if you’re interested.

Reading Next:

ghostedthreeharessomethinginthewater

Ghosted by Rosie Walsh
The Three Hares by Geoffrey Simpson
Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman

I’m not entirely sure what I will read next, because of my mood and my mind always changes when it comes to what to read next. I want to focus on trying to finish up the books on my “currently reading” list. If I do happen to finish my currently reading, then I will POSSIBLY read Ghosted, Something in the Water (audiobook)and The Three Hares. I’ve been dying to read Ghosted and Something in the Water since I heard about them and I was sent The Three Hares from the author for review. I also have a ton of other ARCs and books sent for review that I want to focus on for the rest of the year. So as always, my “reading next” is up in the air and usually never looks like what I say it will be, lol.

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

I am really leaning toward a little break though, because I think I need it to get my mind right and back into the reading/blogging game…maybe even life too? Things in my life outside of the blogosphere are happening and have already happened and I honestly feel kind of stressed out. I have a TON of things on my mind and it’s hard to handle right now. This is also kind of a new feeling for me, because I usually never let myself feel this way. UGH.

Hey!

My reading is all over the place. I’m reading (and listening) to so many books at one time, which I never do. I think I’m in a reading slump or heading that way, so I keep starting new books to see if one will grab my attention. I also have so many ARCs that I need to get to, but just haven’t been in the mood to dive into my stack. I don’t want to read them when I’m not in the mood for them, because I don’t want to risk not liking them because of that. I’ll have a post on all the ARCs and review books that I need to read, so I can start checking them off the list! Anyway though, onto what I have been reading recently.

Currently Reading:

illbegoneinthedarkwhywebrokeuptheshadowmindsjournal

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara
Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler
The Shadow Minds Journal by Kia Carrington-Russell

Also, Circe. But it’s unofficially on the list, because in reality I haven’t touched it in months and not sure when I will pick it up again. I’m listening to I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, I’ve had it on hold at my library for months and finally got it. I only have it for a few more days though, so I have to try to finish it this week. It’s good so far. I’ve been wanting to read Why We Broke Up for awhile now. I was looking at my bookshelf over the weekend and it was calling my name to finally read it, so I started that. It’s okay so far. I’m a little over halfway through it now and I am hoping it gets better. I’m not really a huge fan of the writing style and sometimes the conversations in the book make no sense at all. I was sent an e-ARC of The Shadow Minds Journal from the author for review. I’m about 16% into it and it’s alright so far.

theboywhoadarkershadeofmagic

The Boy Who Could See Demons by Carolyn Jess-Cooke
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

I finally read A Darker Shade of Magic…I wasn’t that impressed. I liked it, but it didn’t blow me away. I was pretty bored throughout the first half of the book. I’ll still give the series a second chance and pick up the sequel soon. I also read The Boy Who Could See Demons, which was really good. It deals with mental health and I really liked it. I flew through it, it was hard to put down.

#MurderTrending by Gretchen McNeil

I’m not entirely sure what I will be reading next. I’m reading so many at one time right now that I am going to try to focus on finishing those. I may try to read #MurderTrending soon since I got that ARC from Netgalley and it’s release date is early August. I have a few July ARCs I need to read too, so we’ll see what happens. I packed up the majority of my books (see below) and only kept like 30 or so out; including my ARCs that I need to read. So we’ll see what happens.

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

I have so much going on right now outside of the blogosphere and reading, so I don’t even know how much time I’ll have to read (or blog) the next month or two. I got the okay from my boss about moving and keeping my job, so we are heading to Lakeland at the end of August. We have a lot of things to do like get rid of things, start packing our stuff, paint our current apartment, and finding a new place to rent in Lakeland. There’s also a ton of little things that go into it too, like changing our address with the post office and changing it with other places too, getting power and water turned on over there, switching our internet/cable service to over there. SO MUCH TO DO AND NOT ENOUGH TIME! Hopefully once all of that is done and we’re settled, I’ll be on a lot more. I’ll catch up with your posts in the next day or two when I get some down time. 🙂

Hey!

I have actually been reading quite a bit this month, which has been exciting considering the last couple months I haven’t read as much as I would have liked. I am hoping I can finish all (it’s more than one ughhh) of my currently reading books down below by the end of the month. Here is what I’ve been reading the last week/week and a half.

Currently Reading:

mayflyemergencycontactcirce

Mayfly by Jeff Sweat
Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi
Circe by Madeline Miller

I am currently reading three books, ughhh. I don’t usually do this as I’ve said before. Although, Mayfly is currently on hold for right now. I do like the book, but I am not in the mood for a dystopia book right now. I don’t want to force myself to read it and end up not liking it because of that. Emergency Contact was one of my most anticipated books of the year, so I decided to finally start it. Circe, I got an e-book copy from my library, so that is why I am starting it now so I can read it before it gets returned. I read Emergency Contact at home and I read Circe when I am out and about, so I don’t have to take my book around with me. Emergency Contact has a white and pastel pink cover, so I don’t want to risk it getting dirty, lol. The book sleeves I have only fit paperback books and I am not about to drop $25-30 on a bigger book sleeve that I probably won’t use often, to be honest. 😛 I’m not that far into any of these three books, but what I have read so far I like.

Recently Finished:

infernoturtlesallthewaydownbeforeiletgo

Inferno by Juli Kagawa
Turtles All the Way Down by John Green
Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp

I’ve actually read a ton of books since I last did one of these WWW posts. These are the last three that I read (or listened to). INFERNO!!! It’s the final book in the Talon Saga and I am so sad that it’s over. Inferno was AMAZING. So many feels. The Talon Saga forever has a piece of my heart. Okay, so I’ve said this before, but I have a love/hate with John Green books. Most of the time I usually don’t like them or think they are just “okay”. I absolutely loved everything about Turtles All the Way Down and I was honestly SHOCKED! I listened to the audiobook. I went into it thinking “I already know I am not going to like this”, but I loved it. I connected with the MC on so many levels. Before I let Go…WTF did I read? It was weird. It was strange….and I just didn’t get it. It wasn’t for me. I’ll have a full review at some point this week.

Reading Next:

I’m not entirely sure what I am going to read next, because I feel like I already have a ton of books that I am currently trying to read, so by time next week rolls around there is a good chance I’ll still be reading those. I will try to get back into Mayfly and hopefully have it finished by the end of the month or the beginning of June. I also have a ton of other ARCs and review books that I need to read. I think I may do a post about all the books I need to read for review.

Hey!

Once again it’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these posts. It’s so hard doing these lately, because I am not reading as much as usual; so they always end up looking exactly the same as previous weeks. I’ve been trying to fit in more reading, but school and regular life is happening too. I like the school work though, although the reading for school is a little boring. Haha. Here’s what I’ve been reading over the last couple of weeks.

Currently Reading:

invictus9781525811418.inddmemberofthefamily

Invictus by Ryan Graudin
Hot Mess by Emily Belden
Member of the Family by Dianne Lake

I’m reading three books…I know, it’s a lot. I actually don’t usually ever do this either! The most I read at one time is two. On the plus side, I am almost done with two of them. Invictus and I’ll have it finished today. Honestly, I’m not that impressed by it. It has it’s good moments, but I’m mostly bored with it. 😦 Part of why it took me forever to finish it, because I originally started it last year! I’ll have a review coming soon. I’m also reading Hot Mess, which I am really into it! I am almost finished with this one too. It’s really good and pretty crazy at times. I’ll have a review probably next week. I am also reading Member of the Family, which is written by one of the girls that was a part of the Charles Manson family. It’s about her life when she lived with him on the ranch. I’ve always been interested in everything about Charles Manson since I was younger (weird, I know, haha). I’m not that far into it, but so far it’s good.

Recently Finished:

huntress

Huntress by Julie Hall

I recently finished Huntress, which I thought it was really good. It’s about demons, angels, demon hunters. Supernatural vibes all around. It was a pretty fun read minus all the religious vibes. I guess it’s understandable (to some extent) because it is about angels and demons. There’s mention of God and Satan too being involved. Sometimes it just felt a little much. It was still enjoyable though. My review will be linked at the end of this post if you want to see more.

Reading Next:

ontheroadwarfare

On the Road by Jack Kerouac
Warfare by Julie Hall

I am not really sure what I am going to read next, to be honest. I have so many choices of books, especially ARCs that I need to read for review. I’ll probably be picking up one of those. Not sure which one yet, I’ll keep you posted! I checked out the On the Road e-book from my library and I may give that one a chance. I’ve seen it mentioned in quite a few books I’ve read (most recently being Member of the Family (mentioned above)). I think I might finally get around to reading it since I’ve seen it mentioned once again. Warfare is also on my list of what I might read next. It’s the sequel to Huntress (mentioned above). Honestly though, it’s up in the air.

Hey!

This week was kind of busy for me and it was my birthday on Saturday, which was exciting. 😀 I need to catch up on blog posts and comments, which will hopefully happen tomorrow or Friday. I haven’t been reading a ton the last couple of weeks, but I did manage to finally finish a book. Here is what I’ve been reading since the last time I did a WWW post, which I think was two weeks ago.

Currently Reading:

immortalreignhammerofthor

Immortal Reign by Morgan Rhodes
The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan

I am still reading Immortal Reign. I’ve been taking my time with it, because it’s the last book in the series and I don’t want it to end! I am also dying to see what happens though, haha. It’s so good, you guys! I also started The Hammer of Thor this week too. I haven’t been bringing Immortal Reign with me anywhere, because last time I did I forgot it at work and had to go an entire weekend without it. NOT doing that again. 😛 So I started The Hammer of Thor, because I bring my Kindle with me everywhere. It’s also going to be returned back to the library in nine days, so I need to read it. I have a physical copy to though, so I guess it’s going if it does go back. lol. BUT STILL, I like reading on Kindle more. I am really stoked to be back into the world. I love Rick Riordan’s books so much. They are always so entertaining. I’m not that far into The Hammer of Thor, but it’s really good so far.

Recently Finished:

roankegirls

The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel

I was sent a copy of The Roanoke Girls from Blogging for Books for review and I was able to finally read and finish that one. It was really good. Pretty twisted and disturbing too. My review will be linked at the end of the post. It’s a short review, because it’s better to go into it not knowing much about it. It was also really hard to write a review for it to begin with.

Reading Next:

autoboy

Autoboyography by Christina Lauren

I am not entirely sure about what I am reading next, because I have a TON of ARCs and review books that I want to try to get to. I haven’t decided which of those to start on. I mentioned last time that I have like at least nine of them. I had Autoboyography e-book on hold for awhile at my library and it finally got checked out to me, so I am hoping to also read that one too.

Hey!

I’ve found myself not really reading much over the last couple weeks, but I finally managed to finish a book this week, which was exciting. It put me a book ahead on my Goodreads challenge. With being in a bit of a reading slump, I was starting to fall behind on my Goodreads challenge. I’ve also been in a bit of a blogging slump as well as this reading slump, so I need to catch up with you guys this week.

I hate falling behind, but it happens. It’s been a pretty crazy couple weeks in my real life too. I plan to do some blog hopping tomorrow and Friday. Be on the look out and feel free to link me to some posts you want me to check out that I may have missed! 🙂 Anyway, here is what I’ve been reading this week.

Currently Reading:

immortalreign

Immortal Reign by Morgan Rhodes

I actually just started Immortal Reign this morning, so I only got through 2.5 chapters, but I am already LIVING for it. I don’t want this series to end, but I can’t wait to see what happens. I am dying to get home, so I can read all night.

Recently Finished:

dimple

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

I knew I hit a reading slump, because I started When Dimple Met Rishi almost two weeks ago and only just now finished it. I also read the second half of the book in a single day (yesterday), so that even more confirms that I hit a slump. I decided to just stay up and finish the last half of the book instead of going longer without reading. I actually really enjoyed this book so much. It was so fun and cute. AND OMG RISHI! I pretty much fell in love with him.

Reading Next:

roankegirls

The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel

A month or two I was sent a copy of The Roanoke Girls for review and haven’t been able to get around to reading it. I think I will try to read this one next, so I can get my review up. It sounds pretty interesting, so I am looking forward to it. I also have a ton of other books/ARCs I need to read and review as well. Lots of May/June/July releases. I want to try to get to some of them early and draft reviews to post later. I don’t want to fall behind with review requests/ARCs, especially with it only being the second month of the new year.
