Day 8: Favorite ship of 2016.

2016wrapupchallenge

Hello!🙂

I seen this December photo a day challenge on theeminha‘s bookstagram and decided to take part in it on my bookstagram (foreverbookish_ – feel free to add me!) and also turn them into blog posts as well. You can check out my original post over here with all the topics for each day if you want to take part in it as well!

Day 8: Favorite ship of 2016.

I know I have talked about the Falling Kingdoms series quite a bit in this challenge and this probably will not be the last time! I am obsessed with this series so much. I ship Cleo and Magnus SO hard. I live for them. I can’t wait to get my hands on Crystal Storm next week. I am dying to see what happens in the story and with these two.

What is your favorite ship of 2016?

I will be back tomorrow with day eight. The topic for day nine will be my “favorite villain of 2016″.

Day 7: Worst book of 2016.

I had quite a few two star reads this year, which is never fun. I want to love all of the books that I read! Quite a few of the ones that I really thought were the worst are books that I don’t own copies of. I am going to post book covers for two and then also share some others that I thought weren’t particularly that great that I do own.

The Last Star by Rick Yancey
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff

The Last Star, WTF. Seriously? I actually loved the first two books in the 5th Wave series and I have no clue what the heck happened here. Completely unsatisfying and a disappointment. HELLLOOOOOO unpopular opinion! Illuminae, I tried so hard to love you. SO SO hard. I was beyond bored pretty much the entire book until the last 100 or so pages.

theheirstealingsnow

The Heir by Kiera Cass
Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige

It’s a little bittersweet with both of these books. I actually really enjoyed the Selection series a lot (minus America, couldn’t stand her) and The Heir was just crap compared to the first three books. With Stealing Snow, I LOVE Paige’s Dorothy Must Die series, but something just wasn’t working out right with this book. For the life of me, I couldn’t connect with the characters or the story.

What’s the worst book you read in 2016?

I will be back tomorrow with day eight. The topic for day eight will be my “favorite ship of 2016″.

Day 6: Biggest book you’ve read this year.

Winter by Marissa Meyer. I am pretty sure that this is the biggest book that I read this year. It is over 800 pages! I’ve said it many many times before, but I have a lot of mixed feelings about this series. Cinder and Winter are probably the only two books that I actually loved in the series. The others were okay, but not that great.

What was the biggest book you’ve read this year?

I will be back tomorrow with day seven. The topic for day seven will be “the worst book of 2016″.

**I skipped day 4 (your favorite genre this year), because it’s always hard for me to pick/determine book genres and all of that. I just read whatever and don’t particularly focus on genres. Looking at the  list of books I read this year, it’s kind of all over the place and pretty even I would say. Anyway, onto day 5!

Day 5: A book you’ve planned to read this year, but you didn’t.

I have had The Darkest Minds on my TBR for the longest time. I think since 2013 and I have yet to get around to reading it. I planned to finally read it this year, but never got around to reading it. I am going to make it a point to FOR REAL read this book next year. I think maybe if I start it at the beginning of the year I can get it out of the way and finally read, haha.

What book did you plan to read this year, but didn’t read?

I will be back tomorrow with day four. The topic for day four will be “biggest book you read this year“.

Day 3: Favorite author of 2016.

Morgan Rhodes. I read Rhodes’ Falling Kingdoms series and the first book in her Spirits and Thieves series this year. I became instantly obsessed with her books, especially the Falling Kingdoms series. She is definitely one of my new favorite authors and I am so happy I discovered her books this year. I can’t wait to get my hands on Crystal Storm and The Darkest Magic. I am so excited to see where these series go and I am dying for more from her.

Colleen Hoover. I never read a book by CoHo until this year. I have seriously been missing out! Her books have been amazing and I haven’t been let down yet. I love her writing. Her books seriously destroy me every time, yet I can’t seem to stop reading her books. I don’t own them all yet, but have been borrowing from the library. I can’t wait to finish building my CoHo collection though! I have my eyes on the UK editions of the Slammed series on Book Depository.

Day 2: Most anticipated book of 2016.

The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. I read Everything, Everything last year and fell in love with that book. It was one of my favorite books I read in 2015. I pre-ordered Yoon’s second book right away! I had to have it. Sadly, I did not fall in love with this book like I did her first book. I don’t know if it’s because of all the hype and it just didn’t live up to it or what. I still enjoyed it, but it just didn’t blow me away like it did with everyone else. I read Everything, Everything as an ARC and before it blew up with the hype…so maybe hype played a part in it. I really don’t know, but I tried so hard to love it and I’m sad I didn’t! It was a 3.5 stars for me. You can check out my review over here.

crystalstorm

Another one of my most anticipated books of the year is Crystal Storm by Morgan Rhodes. It’ll be released December 13th, so I don’t have it yet. 😦 I seriously need it NOOOW! I have it pre-ordered though and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. It’s the 5th book in the Falling Kingdoms series.

What was your most anticipated book of 2016?

I will be back tomorrow with day three. The topic for day three will be “favorite author of 2016“.

Day 1: First book you read in 2016.

For this post I am going to use the first book I read myself and the first audiobook I listened to of the year.

img_2119

Cress by Marissa Meyer. I rated Cress 3 out of 5 stars. I actually wasn’t too impressed with the Lunar Chronicles series. Cress was probably one of my least favorites of the series. I really enjoyed Cinder and Winter, but the others were just “meh”.

Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz. I did an audiobook reread of Shattered Blue. I read it last year and absolutely loved it. I really enjoyed the audiobook for this one just as much as when I read it myself. I am so stoked that the second book in the series; Renegade Red is releasing in March! This was a 5 out of 5 stars for me.

#2016WrapUpChallenge.

2016wrapupchallenge

Hello! 🙂

I seen this December photo a day challenge on theeminha‘s bookstagram and decided to take part in it on my bookstagram (foreverbookish_ – feel free to add me!) and also turn them into blog posts as well. This year wasn’t my best year with blogging and I am hoping that maybe doing a post every day for a month will help me get back into blogging regularly again. Maybe it’ll even spark some new ideas for next year.

I plan to start this challenge on December 1st, of course! My track recorded for challenges hasn’t been the best this year, so I am hoping that I can actually do this one! I am crossing my fingers. It seems like it’ll be fun to do. I’m actually going to attempt two photo a day challenges on my bookstagram for December. Hopefully it all goes well, haha. 😛

Below is the picture of the wrap up challenge that Cinthia created and I will type out the list as well down below. I’m going to link up each blog post to this post once I do them, so they can all be in one place. If you missed checking out one of my days, you can easily use this post to find them. 🙂
