Hey!
I’ve had a bookstagram for quite a few years now. It’s “sociallyawkwardbookworm” if you’re interested! There were some years where I was REALLY active and posting almost daily. Then I started to become less active and only posting maybe once a week or once a month. I wanted to be more active in 2020, but that ended up not happening. And even now in this new year I’ve only posted twice so far! For this blog post though, I thought it would be fun to post all the pictures that I uploaded to my bookstagram account in 2020. I had a total of 21 posts (would have been fitting if it was 20 :P), but some of those posts contained more than one picture. Looking through my pictures kind of makes me want to get back into bookstagram, but honestly, it can be a lot of work! Coming up with cool photo ideas, sticking to themes, finding cool props, and writing captions (which I think is SO HARD sometimes). I’ve also been buying books less than I was before, so not having brand new books to show off plays a part in that as well. Sigh. I’m posting this in two different parts because I have 20+ pictures to share. I am including the captions that I posted with them. Here is part one!
February 10, 2020.
Caption: thank you @fiercereads for sending me these spring arcs! i can’t wait to read and review them.✨
February 28, 2020.
Caption: rearranged my bookcases a little bit after unhauling 50+ books. the left two bookcases are paperbacks & arcs. the next two are hardcovers. the last one the hardcovers continue and it also has my harry potter books at the top. the bottom shelf is unopened funko pops and the shelf above that is just miscellaneous books. the baby yoda (the child) picture is a painting that i did in an art class, but it’s only sitting there for now. i’ll eventually be hanging it on my wall. the very top of all my shelves are some of my favorite unopened funko pops. i’m still unsure if i’m going to display my opened funko pops on my shelves (there’s a lot) or find a new place for them. i don’t really want my bookshelves to look too cluttered, lol. • tag me in your shelfie pictures, so i can check them out! 📖🖤

Caption: i am so bad with sticking to monthly TBR lists, but i decided to make one for march anyway. 😛 here are some of the books on my march TBR. i am currently reading “starry eyes” right now and i like it so far. you can see more about these books and a couple others not pictured over on my blog. *link in my info/bio* 📖 what books are on your TBR for this month? have you read any of the ones i’m hoping to read? 🖤
March 11, 2020.
Caption: i was going through some of my old stuff and completely forgot i had this really cute harry potter necklace. 🤓⚡️• are you a fan of bookish jewelry?
March 12, 2020.
Caption: yesterday i posted in my insta-stories about a container of buttons i found and this was one of the many. i review books on my blog “socially awkward bookworm”, which you can find linked in my info/bio. i’ve had my blog since 2015! • do you review books? if so, on what platform/s? 📖
March 14, 2020.
Caption: i just started “wild at heart” this morning and i am stoked to see what happens next! 🖤 i really liked “the simple wild” and i’m happy to catch up with these characters again. • what are you currently reading? 📖
March 17, 2020.
Caption: happy st. patrick’s day! 🍀📖 • i don’t have many green books, haha.
March 19, 2020.
Caption: anyone else excited for animal crossing: new horizons tomorrow? i bought this really cute bullet journal (amazon) and stickers (etsy), so i can keep track of my island (items, villagers, events, etc.). 🏝 goodbye to my real life and hello to my animal crossing fictional life. i am pretty confident that it will take over my life for quite a while and i am sooooo ready for it. ✌🏼 hopefully it doesn’t cut into my reading too much though. it’s already been a weird year with my reading (i’m reading less than usual 😭).
March 23, 2020.
Caption: i’m in such a bad reading slump (& animal crossing is taking over my life). thinking of trying a non-fiction book in the hopes it gets me out of this slump! i saw this one and thought it sounded really interesting, so i had to have it. i love books about psychology too. • what are some of your favorite non-fiction books? 📖
March 31, 2020.
Caption: happy release day to this beauty! i cannot wait to read it. 💜
April 6, 2020.
Caption: i’m thinking i may finally read “the bromance book club”. what are you currently reading? 📖
April 9, 2020.
Caption: here are two july arcs that i received this week. i am super stoked to read them both! 📖 any july releases you’re looking forward to?
After going through my pictures, it looks like March was my best month for posting in 2020. It went downhill after my April pictures. I also couldn’t really stick to a theme. I kept trying a bunch of things to see what would stick for me. I will have part two of my bookstagram 2020 pictures posted later in the week. 🙂 But speaking of bookstagram, one of my favorite bloggers Marie from Drizzle & Hurricane Books posted all about her first year experience on bookstagram and you should totally check that out! Click here to see her post! 🙂
