WWW Wednesday #67.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly MEME hosted by Taking on a World of Words. Simply answer the following questions. 🙂

The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

*All books linked to Goodreads below.

This month is actually off to a really great start and I am only ONE book away from completely my Godoreads challenge! I am going to jump right into my WWW Wednesday post for today. This is what I’ve been reading so far this month and what I will hopefully be reading next.

Currently Reading:

The Afterlife of Holly Chase by Cynthia Hand
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

I wanted a Christmas vibe book, so I finally decided to pick up my copy of The Afterlife of Holly Chase. It’s an A Christmas Carol retelling and I am stoked! I’m not that far into it, but so far it’s interesting. I haven’t actually started Lord of Shadows yet, but I plan to start the audiobook today while I work.

Recently Finished:

Puddin’ by Julie Murphy
Any Boy But You by Julie Hammerle
For Every One by Jason Reynolds
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

I’ve finished quite a few books over the first 10 days of December! Two audiobooks and two books that I read myself. The audiobooks were Puddin’ and Lady Midnight. I really enjoyed both books. I was on the fence about even reading Lady Midnight, because I have a love/hate for the Mortal Instruments series (first four books were great and then the series went downhill for me). BUT my library had the Lady Midnight audiobook available so I decided to just give it a chance and I actually really liked it. The books that I read myself were For Everyone and Any Boy But You, both were great; especially Any Boy But You. I flew through it in two days and had so much fun reading it. I flew through For Everyone in thirty minutes though because it was short book written in verse, so it was a quick read. Here’s one of my favorite pages from For Everyone:

“All of us out here,
slumped over wearing
weird fake
broken smiles,
trying to avoid the truth:
that we all got road rage.”

I related to this so much, especially lately.

Reading Next:

Husband Material by Emily Belden
Lucky Caller by Emma Mills

I am not really sure what I am going to read next, honestly. I have a December release ARC (Husband Material) that I need to read and a few January ones (Lucky Caller being one of them), so I may give those a chance or I might see if I can find another Christmas book that I can read before the month ends. I think I have a couple other Christmassy books on my Kindle. We shall see what happens!

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

Life has been so weird and so difficult and I got some pretty bad news last week, so I’ve been down even more than I already have been. I’ve been working on some 2020 posts and 2019 recap post though and I can’t wait to share those. I even upgraded my blog, so I could get some more photo storage so be on the look out for more picture/travel posts again! I miss doing those so much, so I am glad I was able to get some extra photo storage space until I can figure out a more permanent solution. I’m hoping 2020 I’ll be more active here. More about that toward the end of the month though.

And now I will leave you with a picture of my cat Leaf in a sweater, because she looks ridiculously cute in it and I have to share it EVERYWHERE. 😛 I originally bought the sweater for my dog, but it ended up being too small for him so I had to let Leaf try it on. She’s the only cat of my three that would ever let me get close enough to do this, haha. She had no idea what to do, so she kind of just sat there until I took it off her. She was not a fan.

In case you missed it;
Book Haul|| November.
Wrap Up|| November.
Mini Review|| Regretting You.

I hope you have a great day!

  1. I’m sorry to hear you’ve received bad news this week and have been feeling down. I don’t know exactly what you’re going through but I can definitely relate to things being rough lately. I hope that whatever it is, it ends up working out for you and it doesn’t bring about too much stress for you during this holiday season. I’m glad to see you read so many enjoyable books in December so far! I hope it continues to go that way. The Afterlife of Holly Chase is also on my to-read list, I’ve only heard great things about it. Happy reading and have a great week! 🙂

  2. Sorry that ye got some bad news matey. I am glad that blogging be bringing ye some joy. Leaf looks shellshocked and cute! Me three kittens would never let that indignity happen. And I also am glad that more photo posts are on the way. Arrr!

    • I’ve been holding off on Husband Material too. I’ve liked Emily Belden’s books in the past, but this one didn’t have the greatest reviews so it’s been making me nervous to pick it up. I’m surprised Leaf let me put the sweater on her, lol. My other cats ran away as soon as they seen me coming with it, haha.

  3. I’d never heard of The Afterlife of Holly Chase until recently, and now I seem to be seeing it everywhere. I guess I should take the hint and read it already? xD

    Oh my gosh, Leaf looks so smart in her cute little sweater! I love it. My cats would probably kill me in my sleep if I tried to put a sweater on them lol. Especially our only female.

    Here’s my WWW post.

    • Happy to hear that you loved Lucky Caller. I can’t wait to read it. By the way, I was trying to comment on your blog post, but I kept getting errors or it would say “Blog token not found.”. Not sure if it was just me or not. Just wanted to give you a heads up just in case something was wrong with it that you weren’t aware of. 🙂

  4. I love Leaf in that sweater! ❤ That face though haha. And you're nearly there with your Goodreads challenge, yay! I wasn't sure if I wanted to read Puddin, but I might just do so now. Have a wonderful week! xx

  6. Oh my goodness, Leaf is so freaking cute! Love that sweater on her! And she looks so disturbed, lol. XD
    I’ve been reading so many Christmas books lately, but right now I’m reading, “In a Dark, Dark Wood.” Pretty good so far! 🙂

  8. Ahahaha, Leaf! Her little face just screams “why did you do this to me, human?!” 😀 I have never tried putting clothes on any of my cats, the smallest one might be alright with it though… she is such a lady, always stealing my make up brushes 😀
