WWW Wednesday is a weekly MEME hosted by Taking on a World of Words. Simply answer the following questions. 🙂
The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
*All books linked to Goodreads below.
Hey!
I’ve actually been doing really well with reading this week. I’ve read a couple books myself and also listened to a couple of audiobooks since my post last week. I’m trying to read as much as I can before the end of the month, because I really want to try to read all the books on my “unofficial” April TBR. It’s REALLY ambitious and I have five books left on the list, plus two more that are bonus if I actually finish the five. CROSSING FINGERS! Anyway, here are the books that I’ve been reading and hope to read next.
Currently Reading:
Cherry by Nico Walker (Library)
There There by Tommy Orange (Audiobook)
I am currently reading Cherry, which so far it’s okay. I’m only about 15% into it, so not a lot has happened yet. I’m not bored with it though, so that’s good at least. Hopefully it picks up even more soon. I’m listening to the audiobook There There, which I may be able to have finished today depending on if I continue to listen to it straight through work. I’m a little bit halfway through it. So far it’s okay, but it’s not blowing me away or anything. Maybe that will change in the second half.
Recently Finished:
Summer of ’69 by Todd Strasser (Netgalley)
The Book of Essie by Meghan MacLean Weir (Library)
The Broken Girls by Simone St. James (Audiobook)
I recently finished Summer of ’69, which was such an amazing book. I loved it. I’ll link my review at the end of this post. I also finished The Book of Essie. I really loved The Book of Essie. I also listened to These Broken Girls, which I thought was good. It didn’t blow me away, but it was still a good read and was interesting.
Reading Next:
Girls with Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young
Tell Me Lies by Carola Lovering (Library)
We Rule the Night by Claire Eliza Bartlett (Physical ARC)
This week my “reading next” list looks almost the same as last week. I strayed a little bit from the list this week by reading The Book of Essie instead of Cherry, Tell Me Lies, or We Rule the Night first. OOPS. I included two of those back to my “reading next” list and I also added Girls with Sharp Sticks as well, because I think I will be reading that one right after Cherry. I was sent a finished copy last week from the publisher in exchange for an honest review and since the book is already released, I want to read it ASAP so I can get my review up.
What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!
In case you missed it;
Review|| Summer of ’69.
Friday Finds #78.
I hope you have a great day!
I’ve gone back and forth on picking up The Book of Essie. But seeing that you enjoyed it has me thinking I should try it sometime. Happy reading!
You should definitely give The Book of Essie a chance!
I have heard only good things about The Book of Essie. Glad it was an enjoyable read.
Here is my WWW
Yes, The Book of Essie was great! 🙂
Great post Ashley! I hope you enjoy Girls With Sharp Sticks!
Thanks! Hoping to read it soon.
I almost commented on wanting you to read Tell Me Lies because I want to read it and am curious about it…Then I read your thing about it being the same as last week and I remembered I already made that comment! Good thing I didn’t do it again! 😉
I think I might need to read Summer of 69 after that review of yours. I’m still singing the song in my head, too. Happy reading this week!
I am really looking forward to reading Tell Me Lies! I hope I can get to it soon. I need to finish my current read and a review copy first, but hopefully that still leaves some time to read it before the month ends. Summer of ’69 was great!
Summer of 69 makes me think of the past…way back to my early years. I also love the look of The Book of Essie. Enjoy your April reading, and here’s MY WWW POST
Those earlier years seems like they were a lot of fun! The Book of Essie was great!
You’re had some great reading weeks lately!! I’m glad you enjoyed The Book of Essie. I did, too. I have a copy of The Broken Girls, but I was kinda saving it for closer to Halloween. I’m one of those people who likes to read certain types of books at certain times of the year. 😀
I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed The Book of Essie as well! The Broken Girls is definitely a good book to read around Halloween time. I like to save books like this for that time of year as well. 🙂
I’ve had The Book of Essie on my TBR for so long, must bump it up the list now!
I hope you get the chance to read The Book of Essie soon!
It’s on my epic TBR list!
Yess you’re doing so well so far though! I think I’ve managed to read 3 books so far and am on my fourth which I’m really enjoying. After this one I have another 2 books minimum to read for my OWLSs (6 in total) and anything above that is a bonus for me!
If I don’t count the audiobooks that I listened to, then I’ve read three books so far too. There’s at least four books that I want/need to read still (not counting audio) and a few bonus ones I hope to get to. Hopefully we both get all our books read, so we can get to our bonus reads haha. 🙂 Happy to hear that you’re enjoying your current read.
Oh wait, I lied I’ve only read 2 books for the readathon 😂
I can’t wait to see what you think of We Rule the Night! That cover is awesome. I think I might have The Book of Essie on my Kindle but I can’t remember lol. You’re killing it in books read this month. I only just finished my second one. Downside to reading 4 books at once I guess lol.
Hopefully I read it this month. I keep meaning to and then I look at my library books and I want to read those instead LOL. UGHHH. I have like 3-4 library books that I need to read, sigh. I may have to just let them go and put them on hold again.
I just finished All I Know Now by Carrie Hope Fletcher.
Currently, I’m reading her book On the Other Side, and I’m going to read her other published works after I finish it.
How are you liking There There?
Oooh cool! I’ll have to look those up! 😀 There There was okay. It didn’t blow me away, but it was still good.
I like the sound of Girls With Sharp Sticks! Have a wonderful week.
Girls with Sharp Sticks was so great! I definitely recommend picking it up.
I’m definitely going to try and get a copy soon!
Keeping an eye out for your thoughts on We Rule the Night. Wishing you lots of luck with the rest of your unofficial April TBR!
Hopefully I can get to We Rule the Night before the month ends. If not, I’ll have to add it to my May TBR. It sounds great though! I’ve already changed up my unofficial April TBR again when a couple library books became available to me, sigh haha. I need to stay away from the library for awhile.
