Hey!

March seemed to drag on forever. I was also pretty busy in March with work and family visiting. I also previously mentioned that I got hooked on Pen15 (on Hulu) and Schitt’s Creek (on Netflix), so that took up a lot of my time too and I got sick. I still managed to get some reading in! I’ll get to that in a second though. First, I wanted to mention that we ended March by going to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure. So we got to go back to Harry Potter World! 😀 Here are a few pictures that I took.

We went on a few rides at Islands of Adventure and ate lunch at the Three Broomsticks. Of course we had to get butterbeer too. We weren’t planning on going to Universal Studios, we were just going to stick to Islands of Adventure. But once we got down to the train station and the wait to get on the Hogwarts Express wasn’t long, we decided to just go and I’m glad we did. We wanted to stay for the Mardi Gras parade and didn’t realize it was at Universal and not Islands of Adventure. At Universal we went on a ton of rides, ate Tacos at the Simpsons’ themed food truck (they were so good), and of course we walked around Diagon Alley. Watched a Beedle the Bard storytelling and bought some Fizzing Whizzbees. It was a really fun time. We just got annual passes and now we can go whenever we want for the next 18 months! 😀 Anyway, onto the books that I read in March!

Physically Read Books:
These are the books that I read myself (not audiobooks) throughout the month of March.

Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner – 5 out of 5 stars – Review
I loved Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Mantinee so so much! It was everything I hoped it would be. So many feels! I also had so much fun reading it. I loved the friendship aspect of it and I loved all the horror film talk. Feel Free to check out my review for more.

The Test by Sylvain Neuvel – 5 out of 5 stars.
The Test….HOLY CRAP! This book was insane! It was intense! And I honestly can’t even put my thoughts into words. I loved it so much and gave it five stars!! It’s a pretty short story, but it’s so damn good that you don’t even notice how short it is. You’re sucked right into it from the start, it’s crazy. Black Mirror vibes.

You Asked for Perfect by Laura Silverman – 3 out of 5 stars.
You Asked for Perfect didn’t blow me away like I had hoped it would. It was still a good read and I actually flew through it. It was really easy to read and the characters were really likable. I didn’t relate to it too much and I think that’s why it didn’t blow me away. I can see why so many people really love it though and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – 5 out of 5 stars.
The feels. Holy crap, the feels. I loved everything about Daisy Jones & the Six. It kind of reads like a documentary/interview, which was really cool and made it so easy to read. It also made it so hard to want to put it down. I flew through it in two days. It gave me “Almost Famous” vibes, which I love because that’s one of my favorite movies of all-time. Also, SO MUCH ROCK ‘N’ roll and I was living for every moment of it.

Jackaby by William Ritter – 4 out of 5 stars.
I am so glad that I finally picked up Jackaby (for my Alphabet Challenge). It was so much fun to read. The character Jackaby gives off a Sherlock vibe, which I love. He was such a great character. The story itself was really great. I can’t wait to pick up the sequel soon!

Audiobooks:
These are the books that I listened to the audio versions throughout the month of March.

The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon – 3 out of 5 stars.
I was so stoked for The Priory of the Orange Tree, because I love Samantha Shannon’s book series The Bone Season so much. I tried reading Priory myself, but I found my mind wandering a lot and now really remembering what I read. So I decided to get the audiobook and still had the same problem. It’s a huge book. It’s very detailed. Lots of characters. Lots of going back and forth between them. Most of the time I had no idea what was going on in the story. It wasn’t until the end where some of it started to come together and was enjoyable. I liked it, but it seemed to just be too much for me I guess. Honestly, it’s a week later and have no idea what any of the characters names are. I have no idea what the story is even about anymore or how it ended. UGH.

The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena – 3 out of 5 stars.
I’ve been wanting to read The Couple Next Door for some time now and decided to check it out from my library since the audiobook was available. It was pretty good and I liked it. It did get a little boring during some parts though. Overall, it was a decent read. Some things surprised me, others didn’t.

Currently Reading Books:
These are the books that I started to read in the month of March, but didn’t get a chance to finish them yet.

Summer of ’69 by Todd Strasser

I am currently reading my Netgalley ARC of Summer of ’69 right now. It’s going to be releasing next week, so I want to try to get my review up as soon as possible. So far it’s pretty interesting. I’m only about 20% into it right now. I have a few other ARCs that I am hoping to read this month as well.
