Hey!
In the hopes of trying to read a lot of my older books, I decided I am going to do this read the alphabet challenge. Most of these books are older books that I’ve had on my shelves or Kindle for years aside from two that I got last year. I want to try to get to those older books that I’ve had for awhile, so I was inspired to do this when I did the “my blog’s name in books” tag. I created a page for this challenge on my blog, so that I can update it throughout the year and have easy access to this list without digging through a ton of blog posts; page over here. Here are the books that I chose to read this year for this challenge; titles linked to Goodreads.
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
Before We Go Extinct by Karen Rivers
Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth
Diabolic (The) by S.J. Kincaid
Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia (e-book)
First & Then by Emma Mills
George by Alex Gino (e-book)
Half Bad by Sally Green
I‘ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Jackaby by William Ritter (e-book)
Kiss Quotient (The) by Helen Hoang
Legend by Marie Lu (e-book)
Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley
Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis
Olivia Twist by Lorie Langdon (e-book)
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes
Replica by Lauren Oliver
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab
Unexpected Everything (The) by Morgan Matson
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman
Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin (e-book)
X – no book – freebie
Young Elites (The) by Marie Lu
Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld
You’ll notice that I don’t have a book for the letter “X“, so I am just going to use that as a freebie and read whatever book that I want, but has to be an older book that I’ve had for two years or longer. I’m not sure which one I will pick for it yet, so I will update it later in the year on my page that I created for this challenge. I don’t plan to read them in order, but I do plan to read them all before the year ends.
It’ll be nice getting to all of these older books that I’ve been wanting to read for so long now. Since my Goodreads challenge goal is to read 60 books this year, this challenge leaves me room to read other books as well as these. 😀 I also have a goal of reading 40 of my own books (they cannot be ARCs, library books, or books I buy in 2019), so it also helps with that reading goal as well. With whatever other books I read this year, I do hope that I grab more of my older books, because my current unread ratio of the books that I own is at 66% (UGHH) and they are mostly books that I’ve owned from 2+ years. A lot of these are also series starters, so we’ll see how my goal of binge reading series as I start them (2019 reading goals post linked at the end) works out this year. I’m scared (LOL), because I’m so bad at finishing series.
Every year since 2015 I have said that I was going to read Six of Crows (LOL), but this is the year you guys. FOR REAL THIS TIME! I might knock this one out early on, just so I can finally say I read it! All except six of these books are books that I own the physical copies of, but as I’ve said many many times, my books are packed away. So with that being said, I will either have to read my e-book ones first or hope that my library has some of these available. Later this year (hopefully by the end of March) I will FINALLY be able to unpack all of my books. This will probably end up being one of the happiest moments of 2019, HAHA. 😛
Have you read any of the books on my list? Are there any on my list that you haven’t read yet, but really want to? What do you hope to finally read this year?
