BOOOOOO!
It’s finally October and I LOVE OCTOBER and anything Halloween, Fall, and SPOOKY! I usually make this huge Halloween Themed TBR for the month of October, but I’m not really sure how it’s going to work out for this year as I have so many ARCs that I really need to read and give priority to. I still hope to fit some spooky reads in. I’m also not sure how well this will work out for me, because almost all of my books are currently packed away. I’m limited to what I can read as far as spooky/Halloweenie goes. I have to stick to what is on my Kindle and what my library has available. With that being said, here are some Halloween/spooky vibe books that I hope to have time for this month. I’m calling this my “Unofficial Halloweenie TBR”…and you’ll see why as you continue to read.
Halloweenie TBR:
Hocus Pocus and the All-New Sequel by A.W. Jantha
The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco
The Haunting of Sunshine Girl by Paige McKenzie
My Sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier
Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage
And the Trees Crept In by Dawn Kurtagich
Crane by Stacey Rourke
Children To The Slaughter by A.I. Nasser
Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz
Teen Frankenstein by Chandler Baker
I’ve had a few of these one past October TBRs, but I never got around to reading them. I’ve also had quite a few of these on my Kindle for so long now and it would be nice to finally read them. I am super stoked for the Hocus Pocus book and that one will be for sure read in October. I make it a point to watch Hocus Pocus at least once every single year. I have never missed a year yet and I’m curious about this sequel. It’s actually one of the only books that I didn’t pack away because I knew I needed to keep it out to read in October. 😛 And below are some of the ARCs that I plan to read this month that I need to give priority to.
By the way, these Hocus Pocus Funko Pops are EVERYTHING!
ARCs/Non-Halloweenie TBR:
I Will Find You by Joe Kenda
The War Outside by Monica Hesse
Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich
The No-Good Nine by John Bemelmans Marciano
I Will Find You is actually a pretty good spooky vibe book for Halloween as well since it’s true crime and about murder cases. I’m part of the blog tour for The No-Good Nine for this month, so that one definitely is number one priority right now. The No-Good Nine is a Christmas book and I keep getting “I Miss You” by Blink-182 in my head because of Halloween and Christmas. “We can live like Jack and Sally if we want, where you can always find me, and we’ll have Halloween on Christmas, and in the night we’ll wish this never ends”. 😛 I am super stoked for it though!
Have you read any of the books on my October TBR? What do you plan to read in October? Let me know and feel free to link me to your posts if you have one!
I am crossing my fingers that I actually get to read a lot of these books. I do have holds at my library that I’ve been on hold forever for, so those might take a little priority over the Halloweenie TBR as well if they become available since I’ve been on hold for so long with them, ughhhh. SO MANY BOOKS, SO LITTLE TIME! I’m not making any promises and this TBR list is a little long (I need options!), but I have my fingers crossed. If anything, at least this is a good Halloweenie recommendation list for you guys if you’re looking for spooky reads for the month of October! 😛
I’ll have my September book haul posted tomorrow and I’ll catch up on your blog posts and comments hopefully today. If I don’t have time today, then tomorrow. 🙂
In case you missed it;

I hope you have a great day!
I love the Funko Pops!!
Lots of great ones on your list! I have heard Baby Teeth is really creepy. I hope you get to read lots of these!
I am obsessed with the Hocus Pocus Funko Pops! I’m about 12% into Baby Teeth and it’s pretty crazy so far, so I can only imagine how the rest is going to go!
This is such a good list! Thanks for getting my in the spirit!
Thanks! 🙂 I love this time of the year and happy that you’re getting into the Halloween spirit!
Just looking at this list gives me the creeps!
SAME! I hope I have time to read them.
I’m really creeped out, but also kind of intrigued by Baby Teeth. Can’t wait to see what you think of the Hocus Pocus sequel. I don’t have it on my October TBR, but if I hear good things, I might put it on next year’s list. Good luck with your TBR!
Baby Teeth is pretty crazy and I’m not that far into it. A lot of people are saying it’s really creepy, so I can only imagine what is going to happen next. I am really looking forward to reading the Hocus Pocus sequel. I hope it’s good! Thanks! 🙂
I wish I had heard about Baby Teeth before I made my TBR.

Ahh you make me want to change my TBR and add more scary books! I need to read The Girl From The Well, Baby Teeth and My Sister Rosa ASAP as well. I hope you will find some time to read these! 🙂
I hope I have time to read a lot of these scary books. Blehh, ARCs. I have to try to get to at least a few of those before I can really dive into my Halloweenie TBR. I’ve had The Girl from the Well on my Kindle FOREVER now, so hopefully I can finally get to reading that one. Baby Teeth is pretty creepy so far and I’m only 12% into it! Thanks. 🙂

I’m so obsessed with Funko Pops! I have a Frighteningly Good Read going over at my site and I was thrilled to read through your Halloweenie TBR! These are some great picks!
I’m obsessed with Funko Pops too. I’ve tried not to buy so many this year though, but previous years I’ve gone way overboard HAHA. I’ll have to go check out your Frighteningly Good Read posts. I always like finding new spooky recommendations!
I even bought a glass display case for my Pops. I decided that when there are too many for the case I will stop but I will probably just start taking them out of the box….its bad over here. I hope you find something you like in my FGR!
i took a lot of mine out of the boxes to display on my bookshelf, but once my shelves got so cluttered with them, i stopped taking them out of the boxes haha. i hate that i threw a lot of the boxes away though. i regret that. that’s cool that you have a display case for them. i bet it looks awesome. all my funkos are packed up right now since we are in the process of moving soonish.
