Hey!

I have actually been reading quite a bit this month, which has been exciting considering the last couple months I haven’t read as much as I would have liked. I am hoping I can finish all (it’s more than one ughhh) of my currently reading books down below by the end of the month. Here is what I’ve been reading the last week/week and a half.

Currently Reading:

mayflyemergencycontactcirce

Mayfly by Jeff Sweat
Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi
Circe by Madeline Miller

I am currently reading three books, ughhh. I don’t usually do this as I’ve said before. Although, Mayfly is currently on hold for right now. I do like the book, but I am not in the mood for a dystopia book right now. I don’t want to force myself to read it and end up not liking it because of that. Emergency Contact was one of my most anticipated books of the year, so I decided to finally start it. Circe, I got an e-book copy from my library, so that is why I am starting it now so I can read it before it gets returned. I read Emergency Contact at home and I read Circe when I am out and about, so I don’t have to take my book around with me. Emergency Contact has a white and pastel pink cover, so I don’t want to risk it getting dirty, lol. The book sleeves I have only fit paperback books and I am not about to drop $25-30 on a bigger book sleeve that I probably won’t use often, to be honest. 😛 I’m not that far into any of these three books, but what I have read so far I like.

Recently Finished:

infernoturtlesallthewaydownbeforeiletgo

Inferno by Juli Kagawa
Turtles All the Way Down by John Green
Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp

I’ve actually read a ton of books since I last did one of these WWW posts. These are the last three that I read (or listened to). INFERNO!!! It’s the final book in the Talon Saga and I am so sad that it’s over. Inferno was AMAZING. So many feels. The Talon Saga forever has a piece of my heart. Okay, so I’ve said this before, but I have a love/hate with John Green books. Most of the time I usually don’t like them or think they are just “okay”. I absolutely loved everything about Turtles All the Way Down and I was honestly SHOCKED! I listened to the audiobook. I went into it thinking “I already know I am not going to like this”, but I loved it. I connected with the MC on so many levels. Before I let Go…WTF did I read? It was weird. It was strange….and I just didn’t get it. It wasn’t for me. I’ll have a full review at some point this week.

Reading Next:

I’m not entirely sure what I am going to read next, because I feel like I already have a ton of books that I am currently trying to read, so by time next week rolls around there is a good chance I’ll still be reading those. I will try to get back into Mayfly and hopefully have it finished by the end of the month or the beginning of June. I also have a ton of other ARCs and review books that I need to read. I think I may do a post about all the books I need to read for review.

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Feel free to link me to your posts, so I can check them out!

  1. I’ve heard some really good things about the Talon series. I think I might need to check those soon! I just finished Furyborn last night and LOVED it so much! I was worried all of the hype was just from a big marketing push and not real, but I was so wrong. The book deserved it all! I plan on starting War Storm today. I’m nervous to see how this series ends, haha.

  2. I’ve only read one John Green book (The Fault in Our Stars), but I have had a copy of Paper Towns languishing on Pippa for ages. I am afraid to read more from him, as I can’t even imagine liking his recent books. Sigh.

But…Turtles All the Way Down getting good marks from you makes me definitely consider it.

Thanks for sharing, and here’s MY WWW POST

    • I read the Fault in Our Stars too and I loved it. I tried to read Paper Towns, but it was just way too boring for me and I ended up never finishing it. I’ve read some of his short stories and wasn’t blown away by those either. Turtles All the Way Down though was great and I was surprised that I loved it so much.

  3. I am so happy you’re enjoying Emergency Contact so far, hope you’ll keep on loving it unil the very end 🙂 I’m so happy you ended up loving Turtles, it was such a brilliant book 🙂

    • I haven’t been able to read much of Emergency Contact (dang school work), but since I got my test done…I can finally pick it back up tonight! Super stoked to get back into it because I already know I am going to really like it. YES, agreed! Turtles was brilliant. 🙂

    • So far Circe is really interesting! I’ve only read a few chapters though. I planned to read yesterday during my downtime, but it got busy and then I got sucked into the true crime podcasts I’ve been listening too. LOL. Hopefully you’ll be able to get to it soon!

  4. Goodness I have yet to start Circe but have been anxious to get around to it smh! I hope you’re enjoying it. I feel ya on the stack of arcs though, I didn’t do a WWW Wednesday post today cause I really don’t have a clue what to read next *sobs* smh lol! Happy reading Ashley! ❤ ❤ ❤

    • I read a few chapters of Circe so far and it’s pretty good. I’m excited to read more. Hopefully you can start it soon! OMG, my stack is so big and I have a couple Netgalley ones too. I never know what to pick to read next, especially when it comes to those ARCs. UGHH, haha. ❤ ❤
