Hey!
I can’t believe that it’s already time to share my April book haul! And……OMG I actually took pictures of my books for once! I think it helped that a few of them I had already taken pictures of previously as I got them. Others I just took a quick picture for blogging purposes, lol. I also didn’t get a ton of books this month like I did last month, so it was a lot easier (and quicker) to get pictures of them. My haul is smaller than some of my past hauls and honestly, I’m okay with that. I have so many books owned that I haven’t read yet….so adding a ton of books on that already ridiculous pile (realistically it’s more like a mountain) wouldn’t do me very good, haha.
You can check out all the books I own over here. I updated my lists last week. There’s also links on that page to my Kindle books and my physical books. Anyway, here are the books that I got this month.
Physical Books I Bought:

Eightysixed by Emily Belden
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
Percy Jackson’s Greek Heroes by Rick Riordan
Eightysixed, I loved this book so much but only ever owned the Kindle e-book. I was able to buy a personalized signed copy from the author, which was exciting! Of course I had to get Leah on the Offbeat, because I love the Simonverse so much. I can’t wait to read it. I seen Greek Heroes at Five Below for $5, so I couldn’t pass it up. There are so many cool illustrations in it and I can’t wait to read the stories.
Circe by Madeline Miller
The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan
I decided to sign up for Book of the Month Club again, because I really wanted Circe and they had a coupon if you signed up you can get another book for free. I could have gotten Circe somewhere else, but since they had the free book promo code, I decided to get it through them. I recently seen that they had The Astonishing Color of After in a past box. I’ve been wanting that one for awhile now, so I got that as my free book. I kind of regret getting Circe through BOTM though, because I seen the regular cover is shiny/has shiny foil look to it and I really want that one!! I might buy it anyway and do a giveaway for my BOTM version.
Books from Publishers & Authors:
Our Dark Stars by Audrey Grey
All Summer Long by Hope Larson
Be Prepared by Vera Brosgol
I was sent a copy of Our Dark Stars for review, which I am pretty excited to read. It sounds really good and the cover is gorgeous. I also got a package I wasn’t expecting from Macmillan/First Second Books with a couple graphic novels in it. Be Prepared and All Summer Long. I plan to read read them really soon and perfect with summer coming up. Lots of summer vibes from those two. I have a couple other graphic novels that I want to read ASAP too, so I may do a month of graphic novels really soon.
#MurderTrending by Gretchen McNeil (Netgalley)
I like books about social media and I also like thriller/mysteries. #MurderTrending sounded really good and like something I’ll enjoy, so I requested it on Netgalley. I actually forgot that I requested it though, so it was cool when I got the approval email.
E-Books:
Warfare by Julie Hall
Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles
Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy
Olivia Twist by Lorie Langdon
I have a physical copy of Warfare, but since it was only $2.99 I decided to get the e-book too since sometimes it’s easier for me to read e-books more these days. During downtime I am able to easily pull out my Kindle or Kindle app on my phone. I don’t always like taking my physical books out, because I hate when they get messed up or when I forget them at work which has happened quite a few times! I was stoked to see Tyler Johnson Was Here on sale for $2.99, because I’ve been seeing it floating around in the blogosphere and social media a lot and it sounds good. I’ve been waiting to catch Ramona Blue on sale and finally it happened. It was on sale for $1.99, super excited to read it. I technically own a physical copy of Olivia Twist that I got for my birthday last month, but when I seen that it was on sale for $0.99, I decided to get the e-book too.
The Light of the Fireflies by Paul Pen
A River in Darkness by Masaji Ishikawa
The Gray House by Mariam Petrosyan
Last Train to Istanbul by Ayse Kulin
The Great Passage by Shion Miura
I got these five e-books for free during World Book Day on Amazon. They all sounded really great. I also couldn’t pass up free! I’m trying to branch out to more non-YA books too. I LOVE YA so much, but I also want to try to read other books as well.
I also got this Cruel Prince inspired candle from The Melting Library. I don’t have a ton of bookish candles, because I don’t really use candles. I had to have this one though. Not going to lie, I’m not a fan of the scent. 😦 At least it’ll look pretty on my bookshelf.
And that is my April book haul! Not a huge haul, but I am extremely stoked about this haul. Definitely one of my favorites this year. Feel free to link me to your book haul posts if you have one! I would love to check it out. 🙂 Let me know if you’ve read any of the books that I got this month too! In the next day or two I’ll have my April wrap up posted.

The Greek Heroes book looked lovely when I browsed through it.
Agreed! I love all the illustrations that I seen. I haven’t had the chance to look through them all yet, but I am sure they are just as great as the ones I did see.

Great haul Ashley! I feel ya on not feeling bad about the smaller hauls, I’ve had a few & it feels kinda’ good haha! OMG so out of curiosity I went to see if Ramona Blue was still on sale & it totally was so THANK YOU!!! & of course it was a slippery slope from there so I purchased two others LOL! World Book Day did have some pretty amazing titles on Amazon, I myself went with Last Train to Istanbul. I hope you love all of your new reads Ashley! ❤ ❤ ❤
Thanks, Lilly! Yay, glad you were able to snag Ramona Blue as well while it was on sale. I can’t wait to read that one. I always get suckered into the e-book deals. I find one good deal and I browse for like 10-15 minutes for more LOL. ❤
Yup this is me whenever I catch a single deal LMAO! thanks again for sharing 🙂
What a haul 🙂 I am a huge Riordan fan and I picked up a couple of the other books that were on your list, as well. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! 🙂 I am a huge Rick Riordan fan as well. I need to catch up on some of his newer series though! I need to finish the last Magnus Chase book and start The Trials of Apollo.
I have a few of his books that still need to be read. They have been pushed off for more pressing review books, unfortunately.
