Hey!
Yesterday was my three year blogiversary and I completely forgot about it! 😳 Shame on me, lol. I’m so stoked that I’ve been able to blog for three years! I’ve made so many amazing friends through blogging and I’ve even met a few of you guys, which was exciting! I know over the last year and a half my blogging has been up and down (mostly down), but I still love it here. I still love blogging. I still love you guys! I even changed my blog around a bit, so I could try to update more and not only about books. Like include more posts about photography or just random things happening in my life. I mentioned all about this over here (in case you missed it).
I am super stoked for this new year of blogging ahead! Other pretty exciting news is I upgraded my blog to a personal account. I was actually at 98% of my photo usage, so I kind of HAD to upgrade (hahah) or no more pictures and that’s not cool with me. I love posting pictures! Also with my new personal upgrade, I can now be “sociallyawkwardbookworm.com” instead of “.wordpress.com” and that is pretty freaking cool! New domain name change in a few days though. I want to give it time to work reliably. It does work, but WordPress says it might be “unreliable” the first 72 hours, so just to be safe I’ll keep it the old way for now. With the new upgraded personal blog change, you’re all stuck with me for at least another year now! 😜
Now onto the giveaway! It’s been three years, it’s time I did a giveaway! If it goes well, then there will be more in the future! It’ll be international as long as Book Depository ships to you. If you’re in the US, I’ll do a book from Amazon if you prefer that way.

Congratulations! I don’t think I can pick a favorite of 2017. I read so many good books. One that really stood out was The Hate U Give though. Some others were Hunting Prince Dracula, Warcoss, The Last Namsara, and Gemina.

I really need to read Warcross ASAP! I’m on the fence about Gemina since I didn’t really like Illuminae that much.
I actually liked Gemina more than Illuminae, but I did like that one a lot. So I’m not sure if someone who didn’t like it would like Gemina since it’s written the same way.
I like the format Illuminae was written in, I just felt like it was so boring at the beginning. I didn’t start to actually like it until the last 100 or so pages. Which is why I’ve been on the fence about Gemina. I liked the ending enough to see what happens next, but scared to actually pick it up because I felt so bored with Illuminae.
It took me awhile to get into Illuminae. I thought it was the format mostly, but it was a bit slow. If you decide to read Gemina, I hope you enjoy it more.

I don’t have just one favorite book from 2017, but a couple of faves – The Serpent King, A Million Junes, Our Dark Duet, and the Lady Helen series. 🙂

Thank you! I think as long as you’re consistent with posting and also with connecting with other bloggers (comments, likes, etc.) then you’ll be pretty successful and gain more followers as well.

I need to read Schwab’s books ASAP! I own quite a few of them and have yet to pick them up. Hopefully to finally read A Darker Shade of Magic this year. It’s hard for me to pick favorites too, haha. I read a lot of great books this year. A Monster Calls, YESSS! Loved that one so much. ❤
Oh you should try Schwab’s books! They can go either way, but once you love her writing style you’ll never go back. 😉 A Monster Calls was so beautiful and I loved the movie as well. ❤
