Book Haul|| December.

bookhaul3

Hey!

I hope you guys had a great Christmas or weekend if you don’t celebrate! I’m sharing my December book haul with you guys today. A few days early, but I don’t plan to buy anymore books this month. I got some really awesome deals in December, so I’m super stoked. I’m just going to use the Goodreads pictures of the book covers in this post, because I haven’t had the chance to take pictures of my books myself and I don’t really have time right now, to be honest. I’ve been busy and I’ve also been sick for an entire week straight (and still sick, ughh). Anyway, onto my book haul!

Physical books I purchased myself:

hammerofthortheshipofthedeadstalkingjacktheripper

The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan
The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan
The Heroes of Olympus Boxed Set by Rick Riordan (not pictured)
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Amazon was having a crazy sale a couple weeks ago and I was able to get a paperback boxed set of the Heroes of Olympus series for $10 dollars! I checked the price a couple days later and it was $30, so I completely lucked out by spotting that! I even got book 3 in the Magnus Chase series for around $4 and the second book in that series for $8! And they had the hardcover for Stalking Jack the Ripper for $3 and some change. YESSSSS! I was able to get $70+ (all the prices went back up) for a little over $20! I couldn’t help myself, it was a “Merry Christmas to myself” situation. 😀 I’m stoked! I loved the Heroes of Olympus, by the way! I own the e-books and really wanted physical copies.

The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor

I signed up for Book of the Month Club earlier this year and had one credit left. Each month I never wanted the books they were offering, so I kept skipping for like 4-5 months straight. Finally I decided to just pick a book and I mostly decided because they said there would be an extra surprise in the December box. So I chose to just get The Chalk Man, because they said fans of Stranger Things would like it. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT EXTRA SURPRISE WAS? STICKERS and a chance to possibly win a giveaway party at work….I’m the only employee at my job… STICKERS THOUGH!? I was disappointed. I could have continued to skip and eventually got something I REALLY wanted. I cancelled my membership after that, because honestly I didn’t really like the books they were offering and I kept skipping month after month hoping for something I’d actually want and never being a good selection for me. I still haven’t even read any of the other books I got from past boxes.

Books I was sent or gifted:

thecruelprinceroankegirlsselphelf

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel
Selp-Helf by Miranda Sings

I was sent a physical ARC of The Cruel Prince and a paperback copy of The Roanoke Girls for review from the publishers and I’m pretty stoked about reading them both. I am kind of obsessed with Miranda Sings. I first started to watch her show (Haters Back Off) on Netflix and then started to follow her on YouTube after that. I don’t know why, but I think she’s hilarious. I didn’t know she started off on YouTube until I looked her up after watching Haters Back Off on Netflix, lol. Anyway, I was gifted her book Selp-Helf by my older sister for Christmas.

E-Books:

neverneverwanttogoprivatemeetmetonightascannerdarklyotherworld

Never Never by Colleen Hoover/Tarryn Fisher
Want To Go Private? by Sarah Darer Littman
Meet Me Tonight by Barry Lyga
A Scanner Darkly by Philip K Dick
Otherworld by Jason Segel, Kirsten Miller

I own the e-book of Never Never part 1, but Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher released a new e-book that contains all the parts together, so I decided to get that since I didn’t have the other parts. They are going to also release in paperback soon, so I will most likely be purchasing it again in paperback form; because I need to own all of Colleen Hoover’s books. There will be a new cover for Never Never, but I didn’t see it up on Goodreads. I seen that Otherworld was on sale and I heard good things about it, so I got that one as well. Meet Me Tonight is Barry Lyga’s last short story of the year. A Scanner Darkly just sounded good and it was on sale. Want To Go Private? sounded interesting, it’s really important, and I really liked it.

What books did you get this month? Have you read any of the ones that I got?

I’ll have my December wrap up in the next couple days. Still working on that blog post, but hopefully I’ll have it up soon.

  1. Sounds like you got a great deal on Amazon! It’s always nice to give yourself a gift. Oddly enough, Rick Riordan has written some of my favorite books, but I only have maybe 2-3 of them. When I initially read them years ago they were all loaned or library copies. Definitely would love to get my hands on a full series!

    • I was so stoked that I was able to get a great deal on so many Rick Riordan books! I love his books so much. Glad to hear he’s written some of your favorite books too! I own almost all of his new books on my Kindle, so I am slowly building my physical book collection for his books.

  2. i also got Stalking Jack the Ripper this month! i’m super excited to read it, i’ve heard so many good things about it 🙂

    • Thanks, Marie! 🙂 So far I’ve heard really good things about Otherworld, but it’s nice knowing that someone else thought it could have been better. It lowers my expectations a little bit, which sometimes is a good thing. Sometimes for really hyped books I tend to not like them so much if I’ve only heard great things and it doesn’t meat my high expectations of them. So we’ll see! 🙂
