Hi!
I’m doing my book haul post a few days early, because I don’t plan to get anymore books in August. Only really three days left of the month anyway. How crazy is it that already there is only three days left this month. This month flew by! My book haul this month is actually pretty small. As far as physical books go, I only bought two of them myself and the other two were sent to me. And then of course I bought some e-books. Here are the books that I got this month.
Physical Books:

The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
Love, & You by Gretchen Gomez
Rebel Bully Geek Pariah by Erin Jade Lange
When The Serpent King is on sale for $3 you buy it even if you already have a copy. I am LIVING for the paperback cover though, so I’m happy I got it. I bought Love, & You by Gretchen who blogs over at chicnerdrads and I am super stoked to read her book. I’m trying to get into more poetry again. I miss it. I won a signed copy of Rebel Bully Geek Pariah on Goodreads, which is exciting. I didn’t take any pictures of The Serpent King paperback or Rebel Bully yet, so those are the covers from Goodreads.
ARCs:
Invictus by Ryan Graudin
The Novl sent me a copy of Invictus!! I was so excited when I opened my mail and found an ARC of Invictus. I did get a copy on Netgalley last month, but having a physical ARC is cool too. I am currently reading it now, so be on the look out for my review coming soonish.
eARCS:

Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp
The Hollow Girl by Hillary Monahan
Being Fishkill by Ruth Lehrer
A Taxonomy of Love by Rachael Allen
I was also approved for a few ARCs on Netgalley this month as well, which I am stoked for these! I loved Marieke’s book This Is Where It Ends and her new book Before I Let Go sounds so good. The Hollow Girl sounds so good and perfect for Halloween coming up soon! Jeff Zentner was talking about how good Being Fishkill was on Twitter, so I had to request it. Super stoked I was approved. A Taxonomy of Love sounded really good when I seen it on Netgalley, so I decided to go ahead and request. Super stoked I was approved.
E-Books:
Allie and Bea by Catherine Ryan Hyde
Gemina by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff
Children of Eden by Joey Graceffa
The Life Cycle of Stars (Ignition) by Barry Lyga
Bobby by Barry Lyga
It’s Not Me, It’s You by Stephanie Kate Strohm
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
Noteworthy by Riley Redgate
The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis
So many amazing e-book deals this month. There were also many that I didn’t get, which I will probably regret later. I did get these though. I decided to get Gemina when I seen it on sale for $1.99, because while I didn’t at all love Illuminae (sorry guys!), I did like it enough toward the end (last 100 pages or so) to want to see what happened next. I didn’t want to buy a physical copy in case I don’t like it like how I didn’t like Illuminae. I’m cool with paying $1.99 though LOL.
Barry Lyga releases a new e-book short story every month with the money going toward a charity (ACLU) and I missed July’s book (The Life Cycle of Stars). I don’t know how I did that, because I’m always so good about buying them every month. WELL…I mentioned something about it on Twitter and he was kind enough to DM me and email me a copy of it! I was super stoked that he did that. Another reason why he’s one of my favorite authors. He also writes such great books, of course. 🙂
That’s all for my book haul. I didn’t do too bad this month. I’ve been really trying hard not to go crazy. Book Outlet has SO MANY BOOKS that I want, but so far I’ve been good and haven’t gotten any. I feel guilty these days buying books since I am currently not really reading as much as I usually do. I’ll be back around in a couple days with my August recap post.
What books did you get this month? Have you read any of the ones that I got? Feel free to link me to your book haul posts.
In case you missed it;
WWW Wednesday #43.
Friday Finds #70.
I hope you have a great Monday!
Great
Thank you! 🙂
Great haul! I hope you’ll enjoy Gemina a bit more than Illuminae 🙂
Thanks, Marie! I hope I like Gemina more than I did Illuminae too.
Great haul – I hope you enjoy Neverwhere – it is one of my favourite Neil Gaiman books!
Thank you! Neverwhere sounds so good! Glad to hear it’s one of your favorites. 🙂
*smiles* you got Gretchen’s book!!! hope you enjoy, it’s heartbreakingly beautiful & empowering. AHHHH The Serpent KinG! LOVED that booK! Can’t wait to get to Invictus cuz anything the Titanic and time travel is my thing lol. I also jumped on the ebook deal last night for The Female of the Species even though I own the physical cuz i want to keep the yellow cover looking good as new *vanity* smh. & Illuminae…my hubby is struggling with the format & I told him NOT to get the ebook but it was too good for him to resist smh. The words are super small so he can’t read it on his phone, it’s best on a iPad if anything but it doesn’t beat the physical. I hope you’re still able to enjoy it though, happy reading Ashley!!! 🙂
I am so excited to read Gretchen’s book! 😀 I’m going to try to read it in September. I’m currently in this biggest reading slump of my life right now, ughhhh. I’ve started quite a few books and I just can’t seem to read anything. I am so glad that Female of the Species was on sale this month. I’ve been really wanting to get it, but also trying not to go crazy with book buying so I haven’t haha. Yeah, I bet the format will be a little weird on an ebook for Illuminae/Gemina. Good thing I have an iPad. I couldn’t justify buying the physical copy of Gemina though since I honestly didn’t really like Illuminae. Hopefully I’ll like Gemina better and then I can get a physical copy. Thank you, Lilly! 🙂
