Hi!

It’s been a little awhile since I’ve done one of these posts. I also still need to do my vacation post and share some pictures from that with you guys. Hopefully I’ll get some time this week/weekend to do that. I’ve been pretty busy since getting back from vacation, so I am behind on blogging. I’ve been trying to catch up with your posts and everything too. It may take a bit for me to get back into the swing of things around here. I still want to be on vacation, lol. Here are the books that I’ve been reading this week…

Currently Reading:

alexapproximatelyimthinkingofendingthings

Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid

I’ve been eyeing Alex, Approximately for weeks now. I’ve been really wanting to read it, but I was holding off on buying it since I’m trying not to buy a lot of books these days until I read more of what I have. I’ve been thinking about it so much that I finally caved and bought a copy. I’m almost halfway through with it and I really like it so much! I’m glad it I caved and bought it. I seen a lot of mixed things about I’m Thinking of Ending Things and a couple of my friends on here have said it was crazy and they didn’t know what they were reading. It definitely left me intrigued about it, so I finally decided to check it out from my library. I’m about 25% through it and I am so confused and so bored. I’m not sure if I want to finish it or not. It’s pretty short, so I may try to stick it out until the end.

Recently Finished:

thesongrising

The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon

I finally got around to reading The Song Rising. I love this series so much. I really enjoyed The Song Rising, but I didn’t think it was better than the first two books in the Bone Season series. It was really good, but also it was a really slow start and I felt like not a lot was going on. I’m still really stoked about the next book in the series. Now begins the wait for the new book to release, which most likely won’t be until next year or longer.

Reading Next:

wallthedgenotetoself

Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry
Note to Self by Connor Franta

I’ve been waiting for my library to get the next two books in the Thunder Road series in and they finally did. I plan to read Walk the Edge and maybe Long Way Home this month and possibly next. I’ve also been wanting to get my hands on Note to Self and my library finally got that one in as well and checked out to me. I think I may pick up that one before Walk the Edge. I’ve been debating on buying it, but in bookstores it was like $24 and NOPE not paying $24 unless I love it and even Amazon pricing was pretty pricey for hardcover (over $16) and e-book ($12) . I’m glad my library got it in though and if I love it then I will buy it for sure.

I’ve been trying to use my library more when I’m not reading my own books I have at home. I don’t want to keep spending money on books I end up not liking and rather spend my money on books I really love, so I’ve been trying to borrow them from the library (or Netgalley) first before buying. There are occasions where I will buy before reading it first though, just not always anymore. Speaking of library, I had quite a few books on hold because they weren’t available yet. It’s forever a struggle. They never have them when I’m ready for them, but when I’m not ready for them they all get checked out to me at one time. I have five library books to read in 20 days (or less on some books) and I honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to do it before they get auto-returned (e-books get auto-returned) back to the library, sigh. WISH ME LUCK! 😀

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Let me know and link me to your posts if you have one!

      • It always sucks when you end up not liking a book you pick up. Hope you’re enjoying whatever you’re reading now!
