Friday Finds #63.

FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased).

Hi!

Today I have three books to share with you guys and since it’s not many, I decided to include the Goodreads description in the post as well as my thoughts/first impressions of the books. Onto the books! You can see more of my TBR over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

invictus

Invictus by Ryan Graudin

The book cover for Invictus is is amazing. I’m saying this is my favorite book cover that I have seen so far this year. I might have to go pre-order a copy of this one. It sounds so freaking good too! AHHH! Need it! Releasing in September.

Goodreads Description: Time flies when you’re plundering history. Farway Gaius McCarthy was born outside of time. The son of a time-traveling Recorder from 2354 AD and a gladiator living in Rome in 95 AD, Far’s birth defies the laws of nature. Exploring history himself is all he’s ever wanted, and after failing his final time-traveling exam, Far takes a position commanding a ship with a crew of his friends as part of a black market operation to steal valuables from the past. But during a heist on the sinking Titanic, Far meets a mysterious girl who always seems to be one step ahead of him. Armed with knowledge that will bring Far’s very existence into question, she will lead Far and his team on a race through time to discover a frightening truth: History is not as steady as it seems.

The Art of Starving by Sam J. Miller

The Art of Starving is compared to More Happy Than Not and I love that book so much! This one sounds like it’s going to be a pretty tough read, but I think it’ll be a good one. I don’t think that I’ve ever read a book about an eating disorder or none that I can remember reading. It sounds really interesting about these super powers that Matt thinks he developed by not eating. I’m really looking forward to getting this book. Releasing in July.

Goodreads Description: More Happy Than Not meets Glory O’Brien’s History of the Future…Matt hasn’t eaten in days. His stomach stabs and twists inside, pleading for a meal. But Matt won’t give in. The hunger clears his mind, keeps him sharp—and he needs to be as sharp as possible if he’s going to find out just how Tariq and his band of high school bullies drove his sister, Maya, away. Matt’s hardworking mom keeps the kitchen crammed with food, but Matt can resist the siren call of casseroles and cookies because he has discovered something: the less he eats the more he seems to have . . . powers. The ability to see things he shouldn’t be able to see. The knack of tuning in to thoughts right out of people’s heads. Maybe even the authority to bend time and space. So what is lunch, really, compared to the secrets of the universe? Matt decides to infiltrate Tariq’s life, then use his powers to uncover what happened to Maya. All he needs to do is keep the hunger and longing at bay. No problem. But Matt doesn’t realize there are many kinds of hunger… and he isn’t in control of all of them.

thecolorproject

The Color Project by Sierra Abrams

The book cover for The Color Project is so pretty and I love the font of the title. I’ve been seeing this book around a lot on Twitter this week and it sounds really good! I definitely need to get my hands on this one. I believe it’s releasing in July.

Goodreads Description: Bernice Aurora Wescott has one thing she doesn’t want anyone to know: her name. That is, until Bee meets Levi, the local golden boy who runs a charity organization called The Color Project. Levi is not at all shy about attempting to guess Bee’s real name; his persistence is one of the many reasons why Bee falls for him. But while Levi is everything she never knew she needed, giving up her name would feel like a stamp on forever. And that terrifies her. When unexpected news of an illness in the family drains Bee’s summer of everything bright, she is pushed to the breaking point. Losing herself in The Color Project—a world of weddings, funerals, cancer patients, and hopeful families that the charity funds—is no longer enough. Bee must hold up the weight of her family, but to do that, she needs Levi. She’ll have to give up her name and let him in completely or lose the best thing that’s ever happened to her.

Have you added any new books to your TBR? Feel free to link me to your posts if you have one or leave a comment letting me know what new books you added to your TBR. 🙂

So stoked that it’s finally Friday! 😀 I’m so ready for the weekend and a couple days off work. I haven’t been reading at all this week, which has been a nice break. I may try to read one of the ARCs I got this weekend. Over the last few weeks I have started and finished a book every Sunday, so we’ll see if that happens again this Sunday!

In case you missed it;
