Hey!

I am so tired this week, but I’m glad it’s Wednesday! That means I just need to get through today and two more days of work until the weekend. 😀 Here’s what I’ve been reading…

Currently Reading:

I am not currently reading anything right now. I’m taking a little break from reading since I’ve been reading so much the last month and a half. I don’t want to get into a full blown reading slump and force it, so I need a bit of a break. I’m also like 30+ episodes behind in all of my favorite TV shows. I may use this reading break to catch up with some of my tv shows and also continue on the second Kingdom Hearts game that I’ve replaying through.

Recently Finished:

nowherebutherebestkindofmagic

Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry
The Best Kind of Magic by Crystal Cestari

I loved Nowhere But Here more than words can ever express. I am also so dang jealous that I am not a part of their family. “Reign of Terror! Hoo-ra!” I also cried way too much, but it was also fun and cute too. So many feels though. *insert crying emoji* I’m excited about reading the other two books in the series (my library needs to hurry up and check them out to me!), but a little disappointed that they are about other characters in the book instead of the MCs in Nowhere But Here. I did like them in Nowhere But Here when they made appearances though, so it’ll be cool seeing a more in depth look into who they are. I surprisingly really liked The Best Kind of Magic. There are lots of different magical elements in this book as well as different magical beings; witches, vampires, werewolves, goblins, fairies and more! It was a lot of fun to read and had me laughing out loud quite a bit. I’ll link my full review of it at the end of this post.

Reading Next:

AMISHGUYSDONTCALLthewindfalltheunlikelieslegion

Amish Guys Don’t Call by Debby Dodds
The Windfall by Diksha Basu
The Unlikelies by Carrie Firestone
Legion by Julie Kagawa

I’m not sure what book I am going to read next once I’m finished with my little reading break. It will most likely be one of these books. The first three are ARCs that are all releasing in June. I am really excited to read them all. I don’t want to read them while I’m in this little reading slump, because I don’t want to force it and end up not enjoying them as much as I would if I was into reading. I have the Legion (book 4 in the Talon Saga) audiobook and I am super stoked to start it. I may start that later this week or next week. I miss my dragons and this series is everything to me.

What are you currently reading? Recently finished? Reading next? Have you read any of these books? Let me know and link me to your posts if you have one!

In case you missed it;

  1. It’s good to take a break sometimes. I should learn to do that and then maybe I wouldn’t get into so many slumps! The book with the ice cream cover…I want to read it just because of the cover. Lol

    • I usually read until I’m in a full blown reading slump and that totally sucks! Hopefully taking a break will help with not getting into one. Right?! I love books with ice cream covers hahah.

  2. Sometimes it’s good to take a break from reading… Especially if it avoids a readingslump. Have fun catching up on your TV shows! And it looks like you’ll have some great titles to look forward to when you’re back from your break. 🙂

    • I thought I was overwhelmed with unread books…now I’m overwhelmed with unwatched tv shows hahah. Sigh. Can’t wait to read the next four books on my list! I may start the Legion audiobook today and see if it puts me back in the mood to read. It feels strange going four days (so far) without reading!

      • At least catching up on TV shows is relatively ‘easier’ since it required less attention.. (or at least it does for me xD) And audiobook might work though!

  3. I think it’s great that you’re taking a little break from reading, getting out of slumps is so hard lol. Also, with Bookcon only weeks away the break will only replenish your bookworm meter haha! you’re going to want to read ALLLL the books. I’ve always been so curious about the Talon series, I LOVE dragons so may have to check that one out 😉

    • I hate getting into reading slumps, because trying to get out of them sucks! I am so excited about BookCon! So happy that it’s coming up so soon! I’ve never been to a book event, so I’m excited. I love the Talon series so much. I’m not the biggest fan of Ember, she’s a bit annoying, but I really enjoy the series and other characters so much aside from her lol.
