APRILRECAP

Hi!

I had a pretty good reading month in April. I was able to finish seven books in April (one being a short story). I was flying through books this month, which was nice! A lot of five star reads as well. I’m going to jump right into my recap of all the books that I read.

Here is what I read in the month of April. You can find a full list of these books and the other books I read this year over here. All will be linked to Goodreads below and I will also link to individual blog posts for them if I did a review.

Physically Read Books:
These are the books that I read by myself (not audiobooks) throughout the month of April.

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken – 5 out of 5 stars.
The Darkest Minds was so amazing and everything I hoped it would be and why the heck did I not read it sooner? It sat on my shelf for a like 2.5 years, oops. I definitely plan to continue the series this year, because I am dying to see what happens next and then ending crushed me.

P.S. I Like You by Kasie West – 5 out of 5 stars.
I read P.S. I Like You in one day. I started it in the morning and finished it at night. It was so hard to put down. It was so cute and I absolutely loved it. I needed something cute and fun after reading The Darkest Minds. I’ve never read anything by Kasie West until I read this one, but I am definitely a fan now.

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins – 4 out of 5 stars.
I can mark off an unfinished series on my list of book series I started, but haven’t finished yet.  I really enjoyed Isla and the Happily Ever After. It was another cute and fun read. I was really in a contemporary mood in April. Anna and the French Kiss was my favorite of the series, but Isla is definitely my second. I love that all the characters from the first two books are also in the last book. I like that they are all connected. Every time I read the books in this series it makes me want to travel the world. I need to go to France and Barcelona like ASAP.

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera – 5 out of 5 stars – REVIEW.
Why did it take me almost two years to read More Happy Than Not? It was perfect and it ripped my heart into a million pieces to the point that I don’t think it’ll ever be okay. So many damn feels! I still think about this book and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. I highly recommend reading it if you haven’t read it yet. It’ll make you laugh and it’ll make you cry, but it’s so damn good and worth it all. It did leave me more happy than not though, even if it did rip my heart into pieces. Feel free to check out my review for more.

FOURMINUTESbangONEOFUSISLYING

Four Minutes by Barry Lyga – 4 out of 5 stars.
Four Minutes was so freaking good and I hated that it was so short. I wanted to see the aftermath of what happened, but it ended so quickly and I was left wanting more. He should totally make a full novel about this this one! This is a short story written by Barry Lyga (author of the Jasper Dent (I Hunt Killers) series. Each month in 2017 he’s releasing a new story (it can only be purchased within that month and then they are gone) and all the proceeds go to the American Civil Liberties Union. ACLU defend the First Amendment. I think that’s pretty awesome and generous of him.

Bang by Barry Lyga – 3.5 out of 5 stars – REVIEW.
One of my highly anticipated releases of the year. Sadly, I was a bit underwhelmed with Bang. I wanted to love it so badly, but I didn’t.  It was a little boring at times. The chapters are really short though, so I flew through it in about a day and a half. It was a pretty sad book at times, but it did have some happy moments too. Also, there is SO MUCH PIZZA in this book. You guys know I love my pizza. It was still a good read even if I didn’t love it as much as I hoped I would. and I would still recommend reading it. Feel free to check out my review for more.

One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus – 5 out of 5 stars.
I finished One of Us Is Lying in one day (yesterday, April 30th). I pretty much did not leave my bed and just read the entire day. I could not put it down. It was so good and I loved it. It had me non-stop guessing. I’ll have a full review of this one on my blog later this week.

What did you read in April? Have you read any of the books that I read? Feel free to link me to your wrap up posts!

May TBR….so far.

courtfurynowherebuthereAMISHGUYSDONTCALL

I am currently listening to the A Court of Mist and Fury audiobook and it’s okay so far. I am almost halfway through it. What the heck is up with Tamlin though? UGHHH. I’m also reading Nowhere But Here. I read the first 30 pages this morning and it seems intriguing. After Nowhere But Here I’ll most likely read the other ARC I got from Netgalley; Amish Guys Don’t Call. That’s about all I have for my May TBR so far. I have no idea what else I want to read, to be honest; so we’ll see what happens as the month goes along.
