Hello!
March was one busy month for me. So many last minute wedding things and my actual wedding! Speaking of wedding….I’m married now, you guys! 😀
Almost ten years later, 😛 ! The wedding was on Saturday (March 25th). There were a lot of mishaps that happened (rain being a big one), but it was good and I’m happy that we’re finally married! Onto the next chapter…like getting a new furbaby. hahah. Just kidding. Hands are full with our three furbabies. Honeymoon in June though. DC, NYC…BOOKCON! Super stoked!
Anyway, onto my recap of the books I read in March. I didn’t have a whole lot of time to read this month, so I was trying to read books that were short since I knew I would be really busy. I ended up reading three novellas/short stories and three novels. Not too bad and it put me 5 books ahead with my Goodreads challenge, which is nice. It’ll help when I get into those dreaded reading slumps. I’m sure it’s bound to happen at some point this year.
Here is what I read in the month of March. You can find a full list of these books and the other books I read this year over here. All will be linked to Goodreads below and I will also link to individual blog posts for them if I did a review.
Physically Read Books:
These are the books that I read by myself (not audiobooks) throughout the month of February.
The Pale Dreamer by Samantha Shannon – 4 out of 5 stars.
On the Merits of Unnaturalness by Samantha Shannon – 4 out of 5 stars.
The Ideas of March by Barry Lyga – 4 out of 5 stars.
These three were the short stores/novellas. The first two The Pale Dreamer and On the Merits is part of the Bone Season series, which I loved. I think (I don’t know for sure, my mind always changes) I will finally read The Song Rising next. The Ideas of March is a short story written by Barry Lyga (author of the Jasper Dent (I Hunt Killers) series. Each month in 2017 he’s releasing a new story (that can only be bought within that month and then they are gone) and all the proceeds go to the American Civil Liberties Union. ACLU defends the First Amendment. I think that’s pretty awesome and generous of him. I really enjoyed this story and I am looking forward to see what the rest of the short stories for the year are!
Bad Mommy by Tarryn Fisher – 3.5 out of 5 stars.
This was a pretty weird book, but it was enjoyable and at times hard to put down. Not exactly what I expected though. In my head I was expecting something else, so it wasn’t what I expected and hoped it would be; but I still liked it.
F*ck Love by Tarryn Fisher – 5 out of 5 stars.
I hate this book so much, that I absolutely love it. It made me so angry!!!! I could not stop reading it though and I love Kit and Helena. Also, I am DYING to go to Port Townsend now and I am making it a point to go to Le Tub ASAP! #fucktarrynfisherformakingmefeelallthethings
Crystal Storm by Morgan Rhodes – 5 out of 5 stars.
Morgan Rhodes kills me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The ending….OMG! I can’t deal. I can’t. I don’t know how I’m going to survive until December. My heart. It’s not okay. This series means the world to me and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. The cliffhanger was the worst and I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep at night until I find out what happens next.
What did you read this month? Have you read any of the books that I read? What new books did you get this month? Feel free to link me to your wrap up posts!
I hope to jump back into blogging in soon now that the wedding is over and planning won’t be taking up most of my time. I can now put focus into some other things that I’ve been wanting to do. 😀 I’ll have my March book haul posted later this week or on Monday. I still need to take pictures of the books that I got this month. I’ve been too busy to do anything else.
I hope you have a great day!
