Hey!
First off, I reached 800 followers this month on my blog! I am so stoked and so appreciative of you all! Thank you! 😀
I am posting this a couple days early, because I don’t think I will be finishing any other books this month. It’s been one busy month for me, so I didn’t get to read a whole lot. I was also battling a bit of a reading slump after reading Renegade Red. I did get quite a bit accomplished this month as far as my wedding goes though! I think I work better last minute and under pressure, hah. 😛
Here’s what I read this month and what I am still currently reading and hoping to finish next month. You can find a full list of these books and the other books I read this year over here. All will be linked to Goodreads below and I will also link to individual blog posts for them if I did a review.
Physically Read Books:
These are the books that I read by myself (not audiobooks) throughout the month of January.
Renegade Red by Lauren Bird Horowitz – Review. – 5 out of 5 stars.
Renegade Red is the sequel to Shattered Blue and it was such an amazing sequel. So many twists and turns. I had no idea what was going on. When thought I had it figured it, nope…haha. Feel free to check out my review for more. Also, in case you missed it, you can join the Renegade Red blog tour. You’ll get an ARC of the book and you’ll also be entered into a few awesome giveaways. Check out my blog post (JOIN the Renegade Red Blog Tour!) for more information on how to join the blog tour and enter the giveaways!
The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye – Review. – 4.5 out of 5 stars.
I really enjoyed the book. It was a fun read and a good cast of characters. The ending left off with a little bit of a cliffhanger, so I am super stoked to see what happens next. I am also glad that I loved this book, because now I can buy the second book. I am obsessed with the cover of the second book and now I can’t wait to get it for my shelves, haha. Feel free to check out my review for more.
Audiobooks:
These are the books that I listened to the audio versions throughout the month of January.
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – 4 out of 5 stars.
I really liked The Raven Boys a lot and I can’t wait to get my hands on the other books. I decided to give the audiobook a shot, so if I ended up liking it then I could go buy all the books in the series, because the covers are amazing.
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher – 3 out of 5 stars.
I’ve had Thirteen Reasons Why on my TBR for a very long time. It was okay. I wasn’t blown away by it though. I am curious to see how it plays out in the Netflix original series that I believe is coming out soon for it though.
Currently Reading:
These are the books that I started in the month of January, but have not finished yet.
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway
I started buddy reading the Bone Season with Maren (The Wornbookmark) and Shelbie. It’s such a good book so far. I am about 150 pages into it. I am pretty intrigued by it. I’ve been taking a bit of a break in between to read some of the Hemingway stories as well.
What did you read this month? Have you read any of the books that I read? Feel free to link me to your wrap up posts!
I will have my book haul posted in the next day or two. I still need to take the pictures of my books and I am currently still waiting on one that is being released tomorrow, so be on the look out for that post soon! 🙂
I hope you have a great Monday!
