Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To (But TOTALLY plan to).
Hello! ๐
There are so many books that I meant to read in 2016, but never got around to them. This could probably be an almost endless post, hah. I am going to go with 2016 releases that I own that I meant to read, but didn’t. There are still SO MANY 2016 releases that I don’t own yet (and dying for).
Replica by Lauren Oliver
Crystal Storm by Morgan Rhodes
The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan
The Loose Ends List by Carrie Firestone
Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
Truthwitch by Susan Dennard
When I look back on the list of books that I did read in 2016, it kind of depresses me, lol. I feelย like I could have read better books than I actually did. I have no clue why I didn’t read these books last year, but I definitely want to try to make them top priority this year.ย One that I know for sure I will be reading soon is Crystal Storm. I hope to have that read this month. I just need to finish The Crown’s Game first, which is another 2016 release that I meant to read but didn’t.
What books did you mean to read in 2016, but didn’t? Feel free to link me to your TTT posts!

Picture Update.
Hello, 2017.
I hope you have a great day!
Yes! You need to read Truthwitch! Loved that book. Also ACOMAF and Salt to the Sea ๐
I need to get out of this slump I’m in (dammit 2017 is not off to a good start) so I can start reading these books!
Me too!! Omg I got Windwitch yesterday which I have been SO excited for but I’m just not in the mood to read ๐ญ
It has taken me like five days just to get to 70 pages in The Crown’s Game. I really like it so far, but I’m just not in the mood to read.
I haven’t gotten around to reading any of these yet either. I did just buy Passenger recently, so hopefully I can read that one soon.
I hope we both get around to reading these soon! ๐
Love and Gelato was very cute, and A Court of Mist and Fury was probably my favorite book of 2016 – hope you get to some of these soon!
Glad you liked them both! Hopefully I’ll read them soon! ๐
Ooooh! I also really need to get to Replica! and omg you need to read A Court Of Mist & Fury like right now!
I need to read them both ASAP! I loved A Court of Thorns & Roses, so there is no excuse for me not reading the sequel right away, hah! I think I’ll reread ACOTAR soon, so I can start ACOMAF.
I loved Salt to the Sea! I hope you get to read it!
Hopefully I’ll get to Salt to the Sea soon! It’ll be almost a year since I’ve had it haha.
I want to get to Replica so badly! It sounds so awesome!

Yes! Replica sounds really cool, especially since you can read it in three different ways.
Salt to the Sea made my list too
I bought Salt to the Sea back in March on my trip to California! Lol. Hopefully I get to it soon and maybe before March this year! ๐
That’s a great TTT list Ashley, I recognize so many that I also own but haven’t read. i thought about participating this week but got a bit overwhelmed when i started making my list lol. I have almost a complete bookcase of unread books smh. So if anything, this weeks topic put things in perspective for me haha! Happy reading โค
Thank you! Yeah, it was a bit overwhelming choosing which books to make the list. There were. A LOT! Haha. ๐
I meant to get to ACOMAF and Salt to The Sea last year, but for some reason never managed to get to them. Still hesitant about ACOMAF, but definitely need to rectify this in the case of SttS. Great list!
I think the amount of pages in ACOMAF was intimidating, so I never picked it up. Haha.
ahaha! Actually, what IS it with Sarah J Maas books? Why are they all… so… lengthy?
I read The Lose Ends List. Honestly, it wasn’t my favorite so maybe you’re not missing too much by not having read it. ๐ I do hope you get to read all of these and love them all, though!
My TTT.
That’s good to keep in mind! Thanks! So many books, so little time! Hopefully there’s a lot of winners in this list. ๐
Salt to the Sea is really good, definitely up there with my top favorite historical fiction books. I really like Truthwitch and just reread it (love it) in anticipation of the sequel. I hope you get to and enjoy all the books on your list!
That’s good to hear about Salt to the Sea! So many people seem to love it. I’ve been hearing so many good thinhs about Truthwitch since it was released. I definitely need to read it soon since the sequel was released. I hope I love it! ๐
A Court of Mist and Fury and Salt To The Sea were both on my list this week too! The Hidden Oracle is hilarious, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I need to read them asap! Glad to hear the Hidden Oracle was hilarious. I always find Riordan’s books so funny. Love them! Thanks for linking me to your list! I’ll check it out today. ๐
Yes you do! I do too, his books are always such a nice break from some of the more depressing stuff I read! No problem ๐
Hi! The Love That Split the World is on my list, too! I need to add Love and Gelato to my list, though ๐

The Love That Split the World was one of my highly anticipated releases! I don’t know why I didn’t read it. Hopefully I get to it soon. Thanks for linking me to your list! I’ll check it out today. ๐
We were spoiled in 2016 with so many great books, it was impossible to get to them all! Out of your list, the only one I’ve read is pretty much Replica, haha. The Loose Ends List, Salt of the Sea and Love & Gelato are on my TBR too but I’m not sure if/when I’ll get to them… one day, perhaps. ๐
Here’s my TTT, if you’re interested.
I agree! We were definitely spoiled in 2016! Replica was one of my highly anticipated hahah. Hopefully I get to it soon! Thanks for linking me to your list! I’ll go check it out today. ๐
I just finished Salt to the Sea, it was so great. Just really well written. I think you’ll love it when you get around to it. It took me forever to read it to. I bought it the week it came out and just read it last week.
I have most of the other books you have listed in my TBR pile too. I’m hoping to get around to all of them soon.
Definite yes to Replica, Salt To The Sea, Passenger and Truthwitch! I was going to read ACOMAF, but I’ve decided to keep the series on hold until more books are published. It’s going to be hard to avoid spoilers for that long though lol.
