Hi! 😀
I said I was going to do a post for 2017 goals that I want to accomplish this year, but I’m not sure I am going to do that. I am setting pretty small goals for this year, because I feel like this year is going to be another crazy year for me. One of the main things I really want to do is be more active on here and to write more reviews.
Over the weekend I spent about five hours updating blog pages and updating my TBR jar, so that I can use that this year. I’ll talk about about that later in the post. See below for some new updates!
2017 read books. – This will be where I list all the books that I read throughout the year and they will be linked to Goodreads and review posts I do for them. It will also be where you can find all my monthly recap posts and challenges. Or if you click my “books i’ve read” page then it’ll give you links to every year’s page from 2012 to today of all the books I read. All of these are linked with drop down menus at the top of my blog too and the same as the below pages I am about to talk about.
books i own. – This will be where you can see how many books I own and also links you to pages where you can find my kindle books and my physical books that I own. I just updated them with all the books that I got last year. I need to try to stay on top with updating these pages. I sometimes fall behind on that.
My Goodreads reading challenge is to read 50 books. I am going to be doing things a little different with my Goodreads challenge this year. I am not going to be counting audiobooks toward this challenge, which is why I decided to cut my challenge goal in half and do only 50. I want to try to read 50 books on my own this year. I made a separate shelf on Goodreads to keep track of the audiobooks I read and I will still update my 2017 read books page with them and my monthly wrap ups, but just not count them toward my number count on Goodreads. How many books do you want to read this year?

Updating the TBR jar! *October wanted to help me out, lol 😛 * I had not updated my TBR jar since the end of 2015, so I spent about four hours sorting through all the folded papers to get out the books that I already read or the books that I got rid of. I had to write over 180 slips of new papers to add to the already 100+ that I had in there. It took so long, but I did it! I was up until after 1am doing my TBR jar.
I decided to update my TBR jar, because I am going to drop TBRs this year. I am going to read what I am in the mood for and I am going to pick books from the jar to read every month. I need to try to stay on top of updating my TBR jar regularly, so I don’t get so far behind on it again. I am excited to use it though. I currently have a poll happening on Twitter right now that involves my TBR jar.
Comment down below what color I should pick! Or head over to my Twitter page and vote. I am leaving it up for 5 more days. Hopefully I will be finished with my two current reads before the poll ends, so I can jump right into it! The color that gets the most votes will be the color of the book slip that I choose from my TBR jar to read next.

Pink.
Yellow.
Orange.
Blue.
Green.
I believe I covered everything that I have done so far for my blog (and reading) this year. I think I may change up my header soon for the new year. I am super stoked to have my blog updated for 2017 and hopefully after all my wedding planning (and wedding), I can jump back into blogging regularly. It’s crunch time for me with this wedding stuff, so I may not be too active until April. I’ll be back on later to reply to comments and check out your new blog posts. Off to work for me!
