Book Haul||April.

Hey! 🙂

I’ve been trying really hard to be good on the book buying front. I have actually been doing A LOT better than usual. There are SO MANY books that were released over the last few months that I have been dying to get, but I have been majorly holding back. I have so much going on this year, so I’ve been sticking to not buying AS many. I can’t completely not buy books, but instead of buying the 30+ that I really want to, I’ve been limiting myself by A LOT! Here are the books and some other bookish things that I got throughout the month of April.

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro
The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner

I actually bought these last month, but they didn’t get delivered to me until after I posted my March book haul. I read The Serpent King this month and loved it so much. You can check out my review over here. I still need to read A Study in Charlotte, so hopefully I will next month. I planned to this month, but it ended up not happening.

The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh

I wasn’t a huge fan of The Wrath and the Dawn. It didn’t blow me away like it did almost everyone else and I actually forgot that I even preordered this book until the money was taken out of my bank LOL and I was like “wtf is this charge” and then I went through my Amazon orders and there it was. lol. I still want to give this series another chance, because the ending was good enough to see what happens next.

The Uncoupling by Meg Wolitzer

I bought this one from Second Edition books. It doesn’t have the greatest rating (I think like a 2 point something) in the world, but it sounded interesting. I also couldn’t find anything else I wanted and I really wanted to visit the cat Catsby that lives there and I thought it would be weird of me to just be like “hey I came to play with your cat” and not buy anything, haha. So I basically paid $5 to play with Catsby and take pictures of him.

Golden Son by Pierce Brown
The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I got Golden Son and The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly from Book Outlet. I really wanted The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly and they only had 4 copies left, so I had to get it. Last month I found Red Rising at Goodwill and I seen that Book Outlet had Golden Son, so I decided to get that one too. But the sizes of each paperback are different, so I’m going to have to end up repurchasing Red Rising, ughh! The Red Rising I found last month is a lot taller than Golden Son I got from Book Outlet and it’s annoying lol! I loved The Book Thief so much and found a hardcover copy at another thrift store, so that was exciting.

A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers

In a major fangirl moment; a singer from my favorite band recommended me A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius when I asked him what his favorite book was or to recommend me one, so I had to get it. It sounds really good though, so that’s a plus.

Bulletproof by Maci Bookout
Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman

I’ve been known to go crazy with the e-book buying, but I actually only got three this month! I am a sucker for Teen Mom and Bulletproof was on sale this month for $1.99, so I decided to get it. I’ve also been really wanting to read Walk on Earth a Stranger and I see that it was on sale for $1.99 as well and got that. I’m excited about them both. I’ve heard that Good Omens is a really awesome book and that it’s really hilarious, so I wanted to check it out for myself.

Other bookish things.

I seen the Alice in Wonderland coloring book (linked to Amazon) at Target and grabbed a copy. I love Alice so much. It’s so pretty and I don’t even know if I can get myself to color it in like I can’t get myself to color in my Doctor Who one, LOL! I need to buy double copies, so I can actually color the pages haha. The picture on the right is just a picture I took for my bookstagram (foreverbookish_) that I really liked and it has the Alice coloring book and some other ones.

Maren (The Worn Bookmark) sent me some copies of Kindred Spirits and some awesome stickers and pins. My friend Kristen (Blonde Eskimo) also sent me some cute little bookmarks from Happy Hello Art; caticorn, unicorn, and unicorn poop. 😛 So glad to have met Maren and Kristen and that we have been becoming awesome friends.

I finally got my Dobby Funko. I’ve been wanting to get him since he came out, but never got around to it. I also have been trying not to spend a ton of money since I have a wedding to plan and pay for. I caved though and got Dobby since there was only one left on Amazon. I also got this cute little sprout bookmark that I am in love with. It’s a lot greener than it shows in the picture.

These two things aren’t really bookish, but I got them and love them. I have a love for cactus and so when I seen this pen that was a cactus, so I had to get it. It was only a $1, but the best dollar I ever spent haha. The plant part comes out of the little pot, lol. It’s also blue ink and I love blue ink pens. Fact about me: I’m obsessed with office supplies (pens, post-it notes, etc.). The fiancé and I got these Doctor Who bracelets. We both love Doctor Who and are huge nerds. His says “Doctor” and mine says “Companion”. 😛

That’s all for my book haul. Compared to past months and book hauls, I have done pretty amazing lol. I remember my hauls would be 20-30+ books a month. I am pretty proud of myself with limiting my book buying. It’s been so hard, you guys! There are so many books that I want!

Did you get any new books this month? Link me to your posts!

I hope you have a great day! 😀
