Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover
5 out of 5 stars.

“Sometimes in life, we need a few bad days in order to keep the good ones in perspective.”

Goodreads Description: At twenty-two years old, Sydney is enjoying a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers that Hunter is cheating on her—and she’s forced to decide what her next move should be. Soon, Sydney finds herself captivated by her mysterious and attractive neighbor, Ridge. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either. They soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one.

Colleen Hoover has my heart and she refuses to give it back. I am officially adding her to my favorite authors list, because HOLY MOLY was Maybe Someday beyond perfect! I don’t even know how to go about this review, so it may be all over the place. That’s exactly how this book made me feel though. My feelings and my thoughts were all over the place. I laughed, I got angry, I cried, I was happy, I was sad. CoHo really knows how to make you feel every emotion when you read her books.

I loved all the friendships in this book, especially Ridge and Sydney’s. It soon develops into romantic feelings, but they just couldn’t be together and that was so frustrating. I was like NOOOO YOU  NEED TO BE TOGETHER RIGHT NOW!! Ridge really struggled hard with his feelings for Sydney and his girlfriend Maggie. It was the saddest thing ever to see him struggling with that. It couldn’t have been easy. I loved Ridge so much though. I want a Ridge 😛

I liked Sydney and she went through so much, but I thought she was a pretty strong character even at some of her weakest moments. She also struggled with her feelings for Ridge as well. It was just all over the place and sad and frustrating and Colleen Hoover shattered my heart quite a few times LOL. I really liked the other characters in the book as well. Warren was so hilarious and definitely one of my favorite characters in the book. I’m excited about there being a novella about him!

Maybe Someday has a soundtrack/playlist that accompanies the book. I thought that was so awesome. Ridge and Sydney write music together and it’s so cool to be able to actually hear the songs that they work on together. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the singer’s voice for the songs, but it was still so cool to be able to hear the songs come together.

Overall, I really enjoyed Maybe Someday so much! I actually loved this book more than November 9! It was just so good and so full of emotion. I loved the music aspect of it all, the characters, and the way everything came together. CoHo has done it again!

“We try so hard to hide everything we’re really feeling from those who probably need to know our true feelings the most. People try to bottle up their emotions, as if it’s somehow wrong to have natural reactions to life.”

**Sorry this is kind of all over the place and probably not the greatest review, lol. I honestly just have no idea what to say other than I aboslutly loved this book and would recommend it to the world.**

Have you read Maybe Someday? If so, what did you think? If not, do you think you will?

I hope you have an awesome day! 🙂

  1. I recently finished this book and I’m in total agreement! This book was heart wrenchingly perfect and I absolutely loved the relationship between Ridge and Sydney. Great review! 🙂

  2. See I read one bad review and it just sorta scared me away but your review makes me really want to read it. On the TBR it goes! Loved the review, it was fun to read. I enjoy all over the place reviews because you can see how much someone loves the book by how much they want to gush about it and are all over the place freaking out over it.

    • I am so glad that my review made you want to put it on your TBR! It really was so good! It’s awesome that there is a set of songs that go along with that you can listen to for free on a website. It makes the reading experience even better! Haha, very true about all over the place reviews. I find if I really loved a book a lot, my reviews tend to be everywhere.

  3. I’ve only read Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover! This sounds like a good one too. Hoover is the only author who I’ve read NA from. I really enjoyed Ugly Love despite the fact that I didn’t like the sex aspect of it – surprisingly, Ugly Love was so powerful to me that it made me sob and cry! It was totally unexpected.
I like that Maybe Someday has a music aspect – I LOVE my music! Wonderful review, I might decide to check this out, when I get out of my ‘reading fantasy’ mood.

    • I loved Ugly Love so much! It is definitely my favorite CoHo book. This was my fourth CoHo book and it was great. There really isn’t too much sex in this one like there was in Ugly Love. Ugly Love definitely had a lot of that going on, but everything else in the story just made it so amazing! I sobbed and cried reading Ugly Love too, lol! The music aspect of Maybe Someday is so awesome. It’s so cool to be able to actually listen to the songs that are being created in the book. It’s so much better than just reading the lyrics written in the book. I hope you like it when you get a chance to read it!

    • Thanks! 😀 Yes, Maybe Someday was definitely better than November 9. One of my other friends felt the same as well. I hope you can read it soon! It’s a pretty quick read, because you won’t want to stop! 🙂

      • I’m going to try and get a copy soon! I already have Ugly Love up for next month but now I’m not sure if I should read Maybe Someday first haha.

  5. I NEED to read this! I have never read a Colleen Hoover book but just about EVERYBODY I know who has read any of the books has loved them! This review makes me want to pick up the book RIGHT NOW (not so good on the book buying ban I’m trying to go by, though that never really worked out anyway XD) and snuggle up in bed with it. AWESOME post!

    • I never read any Colleen Hoover books until this year and I have loved every single one so far! Book buying bans never really work out for me, haha. I hope you can read this one soon! It’s so so good! 🙂
