What do you think you’ll read next?
*Goodreads linked below.
Hi! 🙂
It’s been awhile since I have done one of these! I think the last time was in October. I was in such a reading slump after October that I really didn’t read too much toward the end of 2015. This month hasn’t been the greatest to start off a new year either though 😦 Hopefully that changes ASAP!
Currently Reading:
Blank Confession by Pete Hautman
Winger by Andrew Smith
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
I haven’t really gotten through too much in any of these books yet. So far I do like Winger, but kind of been putting it on hold since I’m not in the mood for it. Blank Confession is a short book, but so far it’s interesting. It’s about a boy that confesses to a murder and I am all about books (and TV shows) about murder. I haven’t actually started Sharp Objects, but I will be listening to the audiobook today at work.
Recently Finished:
Confess by Colleen Hoover
Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan
Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott
I haven’t really been too blown away by the books that I’ve been reading this month and it’s kind of sad. Living Dead Girl was an okay read. It was interesting, but I wasn’t happy about the ending. I wanted more for the ending than the author gave. Confess was actually really good. It was a little weird for awhile, but turned out to be really good. It’s probably the only book I enjoyed a lot so far this month. Boy Meets Boy I was expecting to love, but I didn’t. It was an okay read, but I didn’t love it. I’ll be doing reviews on these three books soon.
Reading Next:
November 9 by Colleen Hoover
Birthmarked by Caragh M. O’Brien
I’ve had November 9 on my TBR and recently just got it. Maren and Shelbie have told me that I need to read it ASAP! So I will probably be reading it after Blank Confession. Birthmarked sounds really interesting, so I think I will be listening to this audiobook next. Here are the descriptions for these two books since I haven’t read them yet and can’t say whether I like them or not.
November 9 Goodreads Description: “Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.”
Birthmarked Goodreads Description: “IN THE ENCLAVE, YOUR SCARS SET YOU APART, and the newly born will change the future. In the future, in a world baked dry by the harsh sun, there are those who live inside the walled Enclave and those, like sixteen-year-old Gaia Stone, who live outside. Following in her mother’s footsteps Gaia has become a midwife, delivering babies in the world outside the wall and handing a quota over to be “advanced” into the privileged society of the Enclave. Gaia has always believed this is her duty, until the night her mother and father are arrested by the very people they so loyally serve. Now Gaia is forced to question everything she has been taught, but her choice is simple: enter the world of the Enclave to rescue her parents, or die trying.”
What are you currently reading, recently finished, reading next? Have you read any of the books in my post? Let me know and link me to your posts! 🙂
I am off to work. I hope you have a great day!
I didn’t like Confess all that much (the writing was good and the paintings were incredible, but I didn’t get on with the characters) but I do want to give Colleen Hoover another try and have November 9 on my TBR. I’ll be interested to hear what you think!
Here’s my WWW: https://clairehuston.wordpress.com/2016/01/20/www-wednesday-20th-january-2016/
Glad you’re back! 🙂
I liked Confess a lot more than I thought I was going to. Everyone is saying November 9 is so amazing, so I definitely want to check that one out. I’ll probably be picking it up in a week or so.
I hope the next books you read make up for the previous ones! I can’t wait to read November 9! 🙂
I hope so too! 🙂 I am tired of reading not so great books, sigh. lol
Lol I don’t blame you!
Hi,
I don’t have any of your books on my reading list. So I’m interested in your take on each one of them.
Shalom,
Patricia
Hopefully you’ll find some of them interesting enough to check out!
Omg I LOVE November 9. I hope you like it too. I’m planning on reading Confess and Sharp Objects at some point this year. Well… I guess I can just say they are on my TBR 😉
I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about November 9, so I can’t wait to read it! I hope you enjoy Confess and Sharp Objects! 🙂
Thanks! !
Sharp Objects is my favorite of Gillian Flynn’s books. Super freaking weird and twisty. I can’t wait for you to get November 9!!! 🙂
I hope it gets weird and twisty soon! So far its been really slow. I’m going to read November 9 with Lauren when she gets back to LA! 🙂
I’m glad to see you liked Confess; I’ve seen so many negative things about it, it’s kept me from picking up the book. Here’s my WWW for the week. Happy reading!
I thought Confess was pretty good. It was weird at times, but overall it turned out really good.
Sharp Objects has been on my shelf for forever and I’ve been meaning to read it. I’m excited to hear your thoughts 🙂
Hopefully I’ll have a review up in the next week or so for Sharp Objects! 🙂
I’m about to start readin Sharp Objects myself. I hope I’ll like it. Happy reading! https://ireadboooks.wordpress.com/2016/01/20/www-wednesday-january-20-2016/
I hope you like Sharpe Objects! 🙂 I’m not too far into it, but so far it’s kind of a slow start for me. I am hoping it picks up soon!
I haven’t read ‘Sharp Objects’ but I enjoyed the other two Flynn novels I did read, Gone Girl and Dark Places. I hope you enjoy it. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday.
I haven’t read any of the other novels from Flynn. I started Gone Girl, but for some reason just never finished it. If I really enjoy Sharp Objects, then I will definitely been picking Gone Girl back up and Dark Places.
November 9!! YES!! I don’t like romance and I LOVED that book, so that is kind of an indication of how good it is. 😉 I also want to read Sharp Objects soon! I wasn’t impressed by Dark Places, but I’ve heard Sharp Objects is a lot better.
Happy reading! Here’s my WWW.
I’ve been hearing lots of good things about November 9! 🙂 I’ll probably be reading it in the next month or so. 🙂 Excited about it! So far Sharp Objects has been a slow start, but I am hoping that it picks up soon. I haven’t read Dark Places. This is my first Gillian Flynn book. I tried Gone Girl, but for some reason just never finished it after chapter 2.
I hope you like November 9 as much as I did! And if you didn’t like Gone Girl, you will probably not really enjoy Dark Places either… It has a slow start as well and the characters were really annoying; I think I actually prefer Gone Girl and I wasn’t impressed by that one either.
I have actually missed your WWW posts! Glad to hear that Confess turned out to be pretty good. That’s the only one that interests me so I can’t wait to pick it up…one day 🙂
I hope now that I am getting more reading done (hopefully it stays this way!) that I can start doing these posts again. I’ve heard a lot of good things about November 9 from Colleen Hoover, so I plan to read that soon. Confess was really good though. 🙂
