Recap||December.

Hi & Happy New Year!

December flew by and I can’t believe Christmas (and New Year’s Eve) just came and went! I didn’t have the greatest reading month, sadly. The end of the year every year seems to be like that for me though. My December TBR did not go quite as planned, sigh. I posted my December book haul which you can check out over here. I got quite a few books in December!

Let’s get into the recap! You can find a full list of these books and the other books I read this year over here. All will be linked to Goodreads below and I will also link to individual blog posts for them if I did a review.

Physically Read Books:
These are the books that I read by myself (aka not audio) throughout the month of December.

six earlier days by david levithan – 4 out of 5 stars.
I really loved Every Day, so I was excited to see some of the other bodies that A wakes up in. It was nice just getting more A! I really enjoyed this one.

not if i see you first by eric lindstrom – REVIEW. – 4 out of 5 stars.
It took me a little while to get into this one, because the beginning wasn’t really blowing me away. It was written in a way that was easy to read though even if it wasn’t the greatest start. I ended up really enjoying this book a lot though. So despite the slow start, it ended up being SO good. Feel free to check out my review for more!

firsts by laurie elizabeth flynn – REVIEW. – 3 out of 5 stars.
This was a little weird for me, because I don’t know if I would have completely categorized this as YA. It wasn’t a bad book, but it wasn’t the greatest. It dealt with a lot of things though, like bullying and shaming. It had it’s good moments. Feel free to check out my review for more!

Audiobooks:
These are the books that I listened to the audio versions of throughout the month of December.

anatomy of a misfit by andrea portes – REVIEW. – 3 out of 5 stars.
I had a bit of a problem with this book with a lot of the characters and the way they used some words in completely bad context, but aside from that it was an okay read. The ending was a complete shocker that I never seen coming. Feel free to check out my review for more!

every day by david levithan – REVIEW. – 4.5 out of 5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book so much and I am actually surprised at how much I liked it. At the start it was a little bit weird for me, but it ended up being so good! I can’t wait to see what happens next! Feel free to check out my review for more!

I decided that making a monthly TBR is a really big problem for me. I make these TBRs, get excited about them, and then I start feeling like I am forced to read these books. Then I start getting into a reading slump thinking about how many books I need to read and how I am not reading fast enough, etc. TOO MUCH PRESSURE! So no TBR for January or possibly any TBRs anymore.

This year I am taking part in Maren’s 2016 Read My Books Challenge, so I will be reading some older books that I bought and never got around too. I’ll be using my TBR jar to draw choices for that. I’ll pick at least two books from that jar and then whatever else I read will be what I am in the mood for or really want to read.

Feel free to check out her page linked above and join in on the challenge! Sign ups are until January 10th and at the end of the year there is a giveaway where you can win $30 USD for the book depository if they ship to your country and you have 13 chances to win! Here is a link to my page where you can see my personal goal for the challenge.

I’ll be posting a 2015 end of year book survey up on the blog soon, so be on the look out for that! 😀 Feel free to link me to your recap/wrap up posts; I would love to see them!

I hope you have a great day! 😀

    • Thank you and I wish you all the best for 2016 as well! 🙂 I hadn’t done it all year, but I started to in October and things just went downhill after that haha. So no more TBRs! Or if I do make one, to try to tell myself it’s okay to read something else if I am not up to it.

  1. Happy New Year!! 😀 Great post! I know what you mean about feeling the pressure. That’s why I got rid of my reading list and I don’t take my TBRs very seriously lol 😉 ❤

    • Thank you 😀
I feel like because I said I would read those books then I have to. And I just start feeling guilty if I don’t read them like I said I would, sigh. No more TBRs for me haha. Or I need to tell myself not to take them too seriously.

      • You’re welcome! 😀 I totally get that because I do the same thing! And it just takes the fun out of reading. Haha true! 🙂
