Hi!
My first attempt at my December book haul post was a fail, because WordPress decided it would be fun to delete EVERYTHING I wrote and not save, sigh. I got quite a bit of books throughout the month of December, but happy to say that I didn’t spend too much money! I’ll get straight into the book haul.
Amazon.

The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick
Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz
I bought the boyfriend The Man in the High Castle, but I will eventually read that one myself. I heard it’s really good and Amazon made a series out of it! Lauren (author of Shattered Blue) was nice enough to sign my copy of Shattered Blue for me! I love her so much, she’s so fun to talk to and her book was SOOO good. Forever recommend it! I plan to do a reread next month! She sent along some bookmarks and posters as well! A little surprise from Ninja (her dog) to my furbabies was a new beaver toy for Dax and catnip (with toy inside) for ColbyJack! That was so cute and thoughtful for Lauren to include them! They love the toys!

Book Outlet.
So I went a little bit book buying crazy on Book Outlet this month and ended up placing two pretty decent sized orders. One was actually purchased on black Friday, but I didn’t receive until the first week of December. That is the following books:

Far Far Away by Tom McNeal
Conversion by Katherine Howe
Lock In by John Scalzi
Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger
Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott
Love Fortunes and Other Disasters by Kimberly Karalius
The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo
My second Book Outlet purchase was because they had this little thing going on that if you spent $35 or more, you get a free Book Outlet bear. I NEEDED THAT BEAR! They also had the Jasper Dent series in hardcover, so that made it a little easier for me to finally click “check out”. It’s my new favorite series, so I needed to own the hardcovers! Here are the books from that purchase:

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
Game by Barry Lyga
Blood of My Blood by Barry Lyga
Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce
Anything but Typical by Nora Raleigh Baskin
Freakboy by Kristin Elizabeth Clark
Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
Ten by Gretchen McNeil
Me & my bear. π
Christmas & OwlCrate.
My new bestie, Shelbie from Lu-Lu’s Rants & Reads sent me an awesome Christmas package this month, which of course contained some books I really wanted! I was so stoked to get it and even more stoked for her to get hers from me! Besides the books below, it also had lots of socks (love socks), Supernatural magnet, nail polish, and a home library kit (which is so cool).
Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
Pretties by Scott Westerfeld
Specials by Scott Westerfeld
Shattering Glass by Gail Giles
The boyfriend got me a couple books for Christmas this year, which I was so excited about. It was two that I really wanted, so that was exciting! Here are the books that he got me for Christmas.

The Accident Season by Moira Fowley-Doyle
Cut Both Ways by Carrie Mesrobian
He also got me three different Doctor Who Funkos (TARDIS, Fourth Doctor, and the Evolving Dalek Sec. I was so excited to get the evolving Dalek, because I really wanted that one so bad! He also got me socks. PS: The Doctor Who Christmas special was SOO good!
My December OwlCrate was pretty awesome this month! I haven’t really been let down from their monthly boxes though, so that’s a plus! Here is my OwlCrate and a list of the things that I received inside! The theme was: Get Inspired.
Da Vinci’s Tiger by L.M. Elliott
I have never heard of this book, but it sounds pretty interesting. The book came with little magnets with words on them, so that’ll be fun to create my own little sentences or as they said “poems”. The other things included were:
+ A “to do list” notepad from Boy Girl Party.
+ A candle from Frostbeard & it smells amazing!
+ A magnet fromΒ Sandra Vargas.
+ There was a little reading journal, which you put down the book you read and your thoughts on it. I thought that was cute. It also has quotes inside. I think mine is the one from Penguin. There was two options.
E-Books.
I may have went a little crazy with e-book buying again. I mean, it really could have been worse…I think. I tried not to look too hard this month for e-books. I guess I still got quite a bit though. I didn’t pay over $2.99 for these at the time except for one. So good deals! A few of these I may have gotten last month, but not sure if I included in past book haul posts. Here there are:
Court of Fives by Kate Elliott
The Bookseller by Cynthia Swanson
The Bureau of Time by Brett Michael Orr
Things We Know by Heart by Jessi Kirby
Kissing in America by Margo Rabb
Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman
The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
On the Fence by Kasie West
Liars, Inc. by Paula Stokes
Relentless by Karen Lynch
Misc. Things & More Christmas.
Cute bookmarks from Happy Hello Art. HELLO TACO CAT!Β “The Book is Always Better!” has Harry Potter, Katniss, and Hazel & Augustus Waters on it! I couldn’t pass up getting Clark Griswold when I seen him.

For Christmas I also got some new TOMS from my mom, Emoji pillows (the laughing crying one and the poop one) from my younger sister and aunt. I also got aΒ bracelet from my older sister.

If you got through this entire post, then you’re amazing! Seriously, so amazing! December was a pretty good month as far as getting books and other little goodies along the way! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and holiday! Feel free to link me to all of your book haul posts or Chrismas haul posts! I would love to see everything! π
I hope you have a great day! π
Haha great post! I’ve read Etiquette And Espionage- It’s really fun! I did a haul post. You can see it at https://booksandothermiracles.wordpress.com/2015/12/27/christmas-haul/
Thanks π
Glad to hear that Etiquette & Espionage is a fun read!
Tomorrow is the day I hopefully order the other two books in Jasper Dent!
Were you able to get the other two? I’ll be impatiently waiting for you to read them.
That is the most amazing haul I’ve seen! Some brilliant books and Dr Who goodies π
Thank you π I am so excited I was able to get so many awesome books and Doctor Who things!
Oh my god, we have the same dog π
Hahah π that’s really cool that we have the same dog!
Ahh, so many great books here!! I’m so excited for you to read them all. The Princess Diaries remind me of when I was a teenager and read those, I loved them so much! π
I really want to read The Darkest Part of The Forest, too, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on that one. And on all of the other books you got, too, obviously! :p
THE ACCIDENT SEASON!! This book is one of my latest favorites, I really hope you’ll enjoy it just as much! β€
I was so happy that I was able to get so many awesome books and for such good deals! π I’ve never read the Princess Diaries, so hopefully I like it! I have lots of reading to do to get to all of these books (plus all the other books I have haha). A lot of people seem to really like The Accident Season, so I really hope I do too! π β€
Such a great haul, Ashley! I hope you enjoy every single item you received! π
-Jess @jbelkbooks
Thank you! π
I hope I enjoy them too!
Such an awesome haul this month! As I was going through yours I spotted a few that I knew were on BO so I went and added them to my cart to hopefully get tomorrow for the Boxing Day sale! Love those Happy Hello bookmarks! I haven’t bought any from her in awhile… I might need to go see what she has lol.
Thanks π I didn’t realize I had gotten so much until I did the book haul post. Glad you found some on my list to get! I hadn’t really bought many bookmarks from Happy Hello in awhile and I needed that taco cat, haha.
That taco cat is awesome! I had to restrain myself from buying it because I already have a million of her bookmarks lol.
I already know that my January book haul post is going to be bigger than I planned… oops lol.
My January haul post will probably be bigger than planned as well haha.
Enjoy your haul. Wishing you and yours a Happy,Healthy New Year full of blessings.
Marilyn
Thank you! And you too! π
Everything looks great! You got some amazing things! π
I am pretty excited about everything! π
What a great haul! You’ve got some amazing books to add to your collection. I purchased a lot of the same e-books from Amazon. Like you, I’ve been trying to settle down with buying e-books, but this month was full of deals! It was so hard to resist. Can’t wait to read your thoughts on some of the ones you got! π
P.S. I am in LOVE with your Clark Griswold PV. I need that in my life, but I couldn’t find it in any of the stores near me. And, that book outlet bear is ADORABLE; I’m a sucker for teddy bears.
Thanks π It’s so hard to pass up on all the e-book deals! There were lots more that I wanted to get, but I had to hold myself back from doing so lol!
I was so excited when I seen Clark Griswold. I seen him at a book store for $10, so I couldn’t pass him up!
So. Many. Books.
There’s a whole bunch here that I have ever intention of reading! I still need to get on Shattered Blue! Maybe I should make a mental note to pick it up next month! Seeing your pretty Jasper Dent books reminded me I loaned I Hunt Killers out to a friend like 3ish months ago and I still haven’t gotten it back… (THIS IS WHY WE SHOULDN’T LOAN BOOKS!)
I want to get Cut Both Ways so badly! But I thinking I should probably start to make it through the books I currently own first LOL!
When I was younger The Summer I Turned Pretty Books where my ALL TIME FAVS! Belly, and Conrad and (the other brothers name who I can’t remember) we’re like my dream book family! I hope you have a great time reading it! I may have to go back and give them a reread this year sometime!
ALL THE EBOOKS! You are like the e-book sales queen! I started reading The Scorpio Races yonks ago but got distracted and never finished but I remember it is seriously awesome!
As usual Ashley, FANTASTIC HAUL!! You are #bookshelfgoals
Have a great new years π
I couldn’t believe I got so many books this month. I didn’t realize until I sat down to do this post, lol. I went a little bit crazy, haha.
I highly recommend Shattered Blue! It was so good and I actually plan to reread it in January!
I am so excited I was finally able to get the Jasper Dent hardcovers. They are so pretty. I hope to reread this series at some point this year as well! My sister still has a book I let her borrow from back in February, sigh.
I was so excited that the boyfriend got me Cut Boy Ways. I really wanted it, so I am glad that was one of the books. I made him a list of books I wanted, so he could pick a couple off it to get me lol.
I’m excited to read The Summer I Turned Pretty. It sounds really good and I’m glad to hear that you really liked it.
Hahaha, I swear I go e-book buying crazy every single month. I don’t even know how it happens. It doesn’t ever seem like a lot since I don’t physically see them, but when it’s time to do my book haul post I’m always shocked and surprised haha.
I hope you have a great new year too!!! π
This is such a beautiful post. Also, I am made that I didn’t make the top 5 for commenting. Damn you WordPress!
I was surprised you didn’t make top 5! π¦ Always next year though! π
