Hi! 🙂
I was tagged by Joey from Thoughts and Afterthoughts and Aimal from Bookshelves & Paperbacks to do the Seasons of Book Blogging tag. Thanks for tagging me! It was originally created by Jordyn from J. Bookish. It defintely looks like a fun tag, so before I start, here are the rules!
- Thank the creator and the individual who tagged you
- Begin with the month in which you have been tagged and move forward from there
- State the best gift you’ve received after answering the prompt on your birthday month
- Tag anyone
November.
…is the month when we’re reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. Choose one book you’re grateful for having read and give a shout-out to the person who recommended it!
I am going with The Hunger Games for this one, because it’s the one that jump started my love for reading. I used to only stick to non-fiction, but once I read this book I started to read everything and anything! I don’t think I would be this big into reading had I never given this book a chance.
December.
…is a time when friends and families come together and celebrate. Name one book you would give as a gift.
I would give The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness as a gift. I am always trying to get everyone to read that book. It makes both a not so good gift (omg the emotional rollerc oaster) and then it makes it an good gift, because the book is hands down amazing.
January.
…begins a new year. Name a resolution you made this year and if you’ve kept it or not!
Honestly, I never make any resolutions. I don’t want the pressure of having to accomplish them and then the big let down at the end of the year if I don’t. I am mostly an in the moment type person and just live my life accordingly. I try not to dwell on things or let things get me down. I’m a lot happier for it, so no resolutions for me. I did tell myself that I would start actually making stuff (food, crafts, etc.) that I pin on Pinterest, but that rarely happened this year, haha.
February.
…is the month for relationships. Name your favorite book relationship: romantic, platonic, or familial, your choice!
Maddy and Olly from Everything, Everything. I love Maddy and Olly’s characters, especially them together. They are so cute together and I am so glad I was able to read this book and experience the amazing-ness of the book, Maddy, and Olly!
March.
…is the month for luck and new beginnings. Name a book/series you would like to re-experience as if you’d never read it.
Hands down the Jasper Dent series! I loved the series so much. It was so different, insane, and so much fun to read. I would love to re-experience again as if I never read it. Constantly being on the edge of your seat, trying to guess what is going on, and constantly being shocked and surprised!
April.
…is a spectacularly ordinary month. Name a book that was so over-hyped that it just could not live up to your expectations
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass. Everyone loves that book so much, but I just did not get why at all. I was bored to death the majority of the time. It took me almost a month to finish it and I didn’t start to actually enjoy it until it was almost finished (last 150 pages). I may try to read the next book in the series though, because everyone SWEARS it gets better. We’ll see about that…
May.
…is the month when the flowers start to bloom. Name a book that was a pleasant surprise to you.
After the End by Amy Plum. I honestly had no idea if I would like this book and I was kind of nervous about it, because it didn’t have the best Goodreads rating. I ended up loving that book SO SO much and it got a 5 out of 5 stars from me! I can’t wait to read the second book.
June.
…is the time to take a break. Name a book or genre that you like to read when you just need to check out.
Honestly, if I need to check out…I go to the television. I have a TON of TV shows that I watch and my DVR is always full, because I usually read or mess around on my phone and don’t watch them. So I will usually go to the TV. Some of my favorite TV shows are Supernatural, Doctor Who, Sleepy Hallow, Orphan Black, and of course gotta love Judge Judy and Judge Mathis. 😛
July.
…is the time to celebrate your independence! Name a book that made you see fireworks.
I am going to go with Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz. I read that book this year and loved it so much. That ending was a complete shocker! One minute you’re like this is cool and then BOOM! OMG craziness! It was definitely a WOW moment for me in the book and when I look at fireworks I’m always thinking “wow”!
August.
…is the hottest month of the year. Pick an up-and-coming author that you think will be the next hottest thing.
I think Victoria Aveyard will be the next hottest thing. I loved Red Queen so much and I was so surprised by it. I think the next book in the series is going to be just as amazing and I am so stoked about it!
September.
…is time for students to go back to school! Pick a book you read for school that you actually enjoyed.
Lord of the Flies! I wasn’t that big into reading when we had to read this for school, but I actually really enjoyed it so much and I always aced all my tests and homework on it! I really want to do a reread of that book next year.
October.
…is time to celebrate Halloween! Pick one character that you would love to dress up as.
I’ll go with Feyre again from A Court of Thorns and Roses. That outfit she has on on the book cover is pretty freaking amazing!

Love this tag! I still need to read the Jasper Dent series because you and Yvo love it so much! I saw the third book at Half Price Books awhile ago but since I don’t have the others yet I didn’t get it. I can’t wait to do this tag. I’ll probably post it tomorrow.
Yes! You need to read the Jasper Dent series! 😀 Can’t wait to see your answers for this tag!
Thanks for tagging me! I’ll definitely do this soon! 😀 I loved your answers! I might have to steal your answer for November because The Hunger Games really got me back into reading 🙂
Can’t wait to see your answers! 🙂 I’ve been seeing a lot for this tag that a The Hunger Games have been getting a lot of people back into reading or into YA books! Love the series so much!
Yay! 🙂 Oh I definitely believe that! It’s an amazing series and I love it so much too! 😀
Is Red Queen really good? I keep hearing many mixed reviews about it but I feel like it keeps popping up on me and that’s a sign I should read it, haha. You enjoyed it?
I loved Red Queen so much and flew through it! I’ve seen mixed reviews too. I guess the only real way to know if you’ll like it is to read it, lol. But I did really enjoy it.
I have the I Hunt Killers series on my TBR but want to wait until I can be sure I have time to read all three books back to back!
I’ve just put Shattered Blue on my TBR 🙂
Thanks for tagging me!
I hope you can read I Hunt Killers soon! I swear I want everyone to read that series, haha! 🙂
Yay! So glad you put Shattered Blue on your TBR!
Great choices, Ashley! 😀 I’m glad to hear that you didn’t enjoy Throne of Glass that much. I haven’t read it yet, but I’m kind of scared because of all the hype around it, I’m so afraid to be disappointed by it. I guess I’ll see! 😀
Thanks 😀
I hope you like it better! I just felt really bored most of the time, because I felt like there really wasn’t too much going on. At least not enough action for my liking!
I would dress up as Feyre in a moment!!! I still have to read After The End and Shattered Blue you loved them both so much and I want to love them too!! Thanks for tagging me 🙂 🙂
Hopefully you can read them soon! I loved them so much! 🙂
Thanks for the tag! This is such a fun one! 😀 I love your answers by the way. I totally need to reread Jasper Dent ASAP, I liked Lord Of The Flies as well and dressing up as Feyre makes for a great Halloween outfit! 😀
I think after I (hopefully) get my physical TBR down a bit, I will reread Jasper Dent! I haven’t read Lord of the Flies since I was in high school and I really want to reread it! I vaguely remember it, but I know I did love it!
I’m probably going to try and bring my TBR pile below 200 before I start rereading… Hopefully I will be able to because I really want to reread Jasper Dent!
