Is October really almost over!? It’s been a crazy month for me and even though I didn’t get most of the books that I really wanted to get this month, I was still able to get some good ones. I also got amazing deals on all of these books and really didn’t spend much money on them all. That’s a good thing, because this month has been so tough on me as far as money goes, so so tough. Anyway, I’ll get right into the books and also talk a little bit about them. The post will be divided into different sections of where I got the books from; stores, random, e-book, etc.
Amazon||Target||Book Outlet:
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness
The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan
Diary of a Haunting by M. Verano
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga
Falling into Place by Amy Zhang
Carry On and The Rest of Us Just Live Here I got for sale on pre-order and they were $8-10. The Hunger Games (foil edition) I got for $2 on Amazon! I don’t own a physical copy of the Hunger Games, so I was excited to get one for $2. I still want the hardcover though, because my Catching Fire and Mockingjay are hardcover. The Sword of Summer I refused to leave Target without it and technically my older sister bought it for me; she said I didn’t have to pay her back! Diary of a Haunting, I saw at Target and wanted it for my October TBR which I never got to, sadly. I actually bought it at the very end of September, but since I had already done my September book haul, I decided to save it for this one. Falling into Place and My Heart and Other Black Holes were on Book Outlet, so those were of course cheap; I think it was $15 including shipping for them both.
Awesome Carry On swag that I got for pre-ordering! 🙂
Tattoos, balloon, pin, I’m assuming those packets are wipes
And a book cover that you can color yourself and put on your book!
Goodwill||Used||Other:
Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
The Sweetest Spell by Suzanne Selfors
The Giver by Lois Lowry
The Wednesday Wars by Gary D. Schmidt
These are the ones that I got from Goodwill for $0.99-1.99 each, except Jurassic Park I was given. I tried to listen to the Life of Pi audiobook, but I just could not do it. I did not like the narrator at all, but I seen the book and decided to give it another chance. I’ve never read Pride and Prejudice and one day I want to, so I grabbed it. I had The Wednesday Wars on my TBR, so when I seen it I decided to get it. I’ve never heard of Things Not Seen and The Sweetest Spell before, but they sounded good so I picked those up as well. The Giver I own in e-book, but I decided to pick it up from Goodwill when I seen it. I love that series so much!
A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis
The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom (ARC)
Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin (ARC)
Wolf by Wolf is an ARC that I won from the Novl, which I am excited to read and excited that I won it! I also won The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto ARC on Goodreads, which I am excited about. Mitch Albom is one of my favorite authors and I was so excited about this book, so winning it was amazing! A Madness So Discreet I received in my October OwlCrate! I added it to my TBR this week, so getting it in my OwlCrate was awesome!
My October OwlCrate contents:
The theme for October was “spooky”.
A Madness So Discreet book, poster, and letter from the author.
Halloween themed bookmarks from Craftedvan (witch & skeleton)
Edgar Allan Poe zipper pouch from Out of Print Clothing
Scented beads & bookmark from Adventure Scents
Sugar skull erasers
I am really excited about this month’s OwlCrate and everything inside! I have to say my favorite things are the Craftedvan bookmarks (which I zoomed, so you can see them better) and the Edgar Allan Poe pouch! Obviously the book as well. It was nice that I wasn’t spoiled this time! I tried to stay away from everything OwlCrate this month on social media, so I didn’t accidentally see what was inside again! Next month’s theme is Myths & Legends!
Kindle E-Books:
You know I am all about those Amazon e-book deals and I can rarely ever pass one up! So of course I have tons to share with you. I got these all when they were on sale for $0.99-2.99! I am super stoked about all of them, because they are books that I really want to read! I did get Ted Saves the World for free though; thanks to Ben’s free book Friday videos on booktube! He always shows really awesome books that are free that week, month, etc. Onto the e-books!
The Night We Said Yes by Lauren Gibaldi
The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel
The Novice by Taran Matharu
Ted Saves the World by Bryan Cohen
Crane by Stacey Rourke
Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge
Jackaby by William Ritter
In the After by Demitria Lunetta
I’ve been really wanting to read all of these e-books, so getting them on sale was a big plus! Even though it looks like a lot, I really didn’t spend that much money. It’s all about the deals! I love getting so many things and not spending a whole lot to get them. That is always amazing, so that is why it’s awesome checking out what kind of deals are going on! There were a TON of new releases that came out this month that I sadly wasn’t able to buy that I really wanted, but I am happy with all of the ones I was able to get. I wish I had all the money in the world for books, sadly that is not the case.
Have you read any of these books? What new books did you get this month? Let me know and link me to your posts down below! 🙂 I am off to work and I hope that you had a great weekend and have a great day today! ❤
WOW~ all those books! I need to pick up Carry On this week, I’m waiting to use my Barns & Noble coupon that came in the mail. I really want to order an Owl Crate but am always worried about getting a books I already have.
I can’t wait to read Carry On 🙂 I love having coupons to get books!
I’m always nervous about getting a book I already have too with OwlCrate. That happened to me in September. On their website they said they usually get books that are new releases up to 45 days released. So as long as you’re not buying all the new releases then you’ll be okay. Also, each box is themed each month. So maybe knowing the theme can help weed out some of what could possibly be in the box. Like November theme is Myth & Legends, so maybe staying away from buying books that can be in that category will help. I’m trying not to buy so many new releases right away until after I get my OwlCrate.
So many great books! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about the new Patrick Ness’ book, The Giver, and The Night We Said Yes! 🙂 You’re so lucky to get an Owlcrate, I still didn’t make up my mind about ordering it, yet, mainly because of the shipping costs overseas 😦
I can’t wait to read Patrick Ness’ new book! I’ve read The Giver series and loved it so much! It’s definitely one of my favorites. Maybe just try OwlCrate one month to see if it’s really worth paying the shipping every month.
I think I will try 🙂
You had a great haul this month! I don’t think I’ve seen that gold cover Hunger Games before. Enjoy those beauties!
Thank you 🙂 They have the entire series with the foil covers, which is cool! I was surprised that it was only $2 though! I couldn’t pass that up.
I concede — your spending habits far outweigh mine LOL.
HAH! This isn’t anywhere near what I have spent in a month in the past. I’m actually getting better at not spending TOO much lol. I did finally use my BO code though with only seven hours left before it expired, lol.
you got some pretty great books this month 🙂
I am pretty excited about them! Now I just need to stop buying and start reading more! lol 🙂
that is a real struggle… 😛
Yes, lol. Never ending struggle. 😛
I got an owlcrate this month too…I already owned a madness so discreet, so I gave it to my mom. I love the poe pouch! And I’m obsessed with sugar skulls, so the erasers are pretty sweet too
I owned the book from last month (Dumplin’), so I was excited that I didn’t own the one from this month. The Poe pouch is one of my favorite things from the box. I’m using it for all my bookmarks.
Great haul with great reads. Congratulations and enjoy your books.
Marilyn
Thank you 😀
This is such a great haul, Ashley! *cries from all the beauty* That Carry On swag is really something. I bought it too, but it was an impulse buy since I wasn’t planning on reading it until I saw a signed copy just sitting at the store. 😀
This month’s OwlCrate box looks so lovely. I wish I had subscribed in time, but I managed to subscribe for November’s box. So excited for it. Do you have any guesses on what book might be in it? 😀
Thank you 😀
I seen a signed copy of Patrick Ness’ book at Target and I was so annoyed that I had already pre-ordered it. I was so tempted to buy it again anyway, lol.
Glad you were able to subscribe to next month’s box. That box sounds like it’ll be pretty amazing; Myths & Legends! I have no clue what book it might be!
Haha! When I went to his sign, I bought another copy of Monsters of Men just because that’s my favorite book of his and I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t get it signed. XD Now I have two copies!
I’m pretty sure I know what book is going to be in the box. But I won’t tell you if you don’t wanna know 😛 x
Don’t tell me! LOL 😛
Can I have all your books?? Yes? Thanks.
I also got, Carry On, Magnus Chase, and The Rest of Us Just Live Here this month! The foil edition of The Hunger Games looks SO PRETTY! If you get around to reading Falling Into Place anytime soon let me know how you like it. I’ve had my copy gathering dust on my shelf for a whiles now! Getting a monthly Owlcrate seems like so much fun! Omg all you ebooks look incredible! I’ve been wanting to read The Tearling books so badly!! I think I’m going to ask for hardcovers for christmas! And I have had my eye on The Novice for agesss now! I’m totally going to make sure to check out that YouTuber who talks about free books!! That’s my kind of thing!
As usual, I can’t wait to hear what you think about all your new beautiful books!
If you lived closer I would totally let you borrow them! 🙂
I can’t wait to read them all, especially Magnus Chase! I will definitely do a review on Falling into Place once I read it.
I was so excited to see the Tearling books were on sale for $1.99 each! I couldn’t pass them up. Hopefully you’ll get them for Christmas! 🙂
❤
That’s an amazing haul you have there! I’ve never done a haul on my blog before, but seeing everyone’s posts makes me want to do one too 😀
I bought Carry On this month as well. Can’t wait to read it! And I’m so happy that it’s the same size as Fangirl and has a built in bookmark too ❤ I read My Heart and Other Black Holes at the beginning of the year and it was a really great book! I loved it – and I hope you love it too. How amazing is the texture of the cover?!
Thanks 😀 You should do a book haul post! I love seeing everyone’s hauls and it’s nice seeing books I’ve never heard of and might be interested in!
I can’t wait to read Carry On as well! I think I’m going to try to read it in November. I wanted to binge read The Lunar Chronicles in November though, so hopefully I can still squeeze in Carry On. I’ve heard great things about My Heart and Other Black Holes, so I’m excited to read it. I’ve been wanting to get it, so I was excited when I seen it on Book Outlet. I love the cover! ❤
I’ll probably end up doing a haul this month. Only problem is I haven’t really been keeping track haha.
I wanted to reread all the Lunar Chronicles before Winter but I don’t think I have time…hope you enjoy your binge read though!
I actually kind of lost track this month and some books I wasn’t sure if I actually did get this month, lol! I had to look up my book haul post from last month. This is my first time reading the Lunar Chronicles and hopefully finishing Cinder today. I am enjoying it so far, but it was kind of too predictable and I already figured out about Cinder before it came up about her in the book, sadly.
I guess that’s the drawback with retellings. They’re a little bit predictable. But I liked being able to pick out the parallels. The next two books are less predictable!! And Cress is amazing!
That’s good to know! Can’t wait to read them!
My goodness, great haul! Some of the books you mentioned have been on my TBR forever so I am interested in what you have to say about them! And it’s a plus that you purchased some of them for pretty cheap! 🙂
-Jess @jbelkbooks
Thanks 🙂 I will definitely do reviews on all of the books once I read them. I need to stop buying and start reading though, hah!
Haha, good luck! 🙂
-Jess @jbelkbooks
Awesome haul! 😀
Thanks 😀
Wow Ashley, the amount of books you acquired makes me want to weep! So many and many of which I NEED IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW. 💖
Hopefully you’ll be able to get your hands on them soon! ❤
LOVE THIS!!!! I am jealous of your Carry On swag…I didnt get any for pre ordering :(((
