Book Haul||September.

IMG_2620

Hey! 🙂

I’ve been pretty good about not buying books this month, but I did get a few. I got really awesome deals on all of these, so I actually didn’t spend too much money on them. I decided to divide the post into sections, physical, e-books, etc. Onto the books!

My pre-orders (first four below) were on ridiculous sale at the time I pre-ordered, so I got them for $10 or under! The last three I got for $2-3 each (Book Outlet & Goodwill)!

Physical Books:

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman
Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich
The Brilliant Light of Amber Sunrise by Matthew Crow
The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Fallen by Lauren Kate

I have an ARC of The Brilliant Light of Amber Sunrise, but I couldn’t pass up $2.99 for the hardcover. I wasn’t sure I ever wanted to read Fallen, but I seen it at Goodwill for $2 and decided to just get it. Same for The Winner’s Curse; I wasn’t sure I ever wanted to read the book, but it was so cheap on BO. Sorry for the glare, I took the pictures at my sister’s and she had bad lighting in her room, so I used flash.

Fablehaven by Brandon Mull

Technically, Fablehaven isn’t mine, but I decided to include it in this post. My younger sister has the complete series, so she let me borrow the first book to try out. I’ll probably try to read it before the year ends. We did a book trade. I let her borrow Fallen and she let me borrow Fablehaven.

Shelbie from Lu-Lu’s Rants & Reads and I have become really great friends this year, which has been awesome. She sent me a package this month, which had a few books in it and some other awesome goodies!

Here are the things she sent to me:

Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Skinned by Robin Wasserman

There’s a page I colored from the coloring book she sent me. I’ve been really wanting to read Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour, so I was excited that she sent it to me. I really wanted to read The Great Gatsby as well. I did end up reading it in September and sadly didn’t like it as much as I hoped I would. Still glad I got it though and I can say I read it. I plan to check out the movie sometime.

E-Books:

I was also able to get a few more e-books this month, which I am excited about. Below are the other e-books I bought and you can check the e-books I got in the beginning of this month over here.

Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs
A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone
The F-It List by Julie Halpern
The Jewel by Amy Ewing

These were all on sale and I decided to get Library of Souls in e-book version, because I have my others in the series in e-book and my older sister read the series and uses my Kindle account. I knew she would want to read Library of Souls right away. I am currently making her read The Knife of Never Letting Go, because it tore me apart and I knew she would like it and I need someone to talk to about this book. She’ll also hate me for making her read it, because that book will emotionally drain you and tear your heart apart a million times.

I didn’t go too crazy this month, which was a good thing; compared to last month when I got 70 books! I’ve had so much going on this month and really couldn’t afford it. I probably won’t be buying too many books the rest of the year, actually. Christmas is around the corner and no one ever knows what to get me, so I’ll probably just ask for books this year. Also, with everything that has happened this month; I can’t really afford to go crazy spending on books like I usually do. I’ll probably stick to my pre-orders for the month of October and maybe a few books here and there the rest of the year. Stay tuned for my wrap up post and my Halloween TBR this week.

Have you read any of the books that I got? If so, let me know! And let me know what books you got this month. Link me to your book haul posts if you have one! 🙂 .

Apparently, this is my 200th post! I hope you had a great weekend! I am determined to finish The Water Travelers today, so I am off to read. BYE! ❤

  1. Yay for ussssss! We are cute 😉 Great Haul! I need to do mine, even though the books I ordered from BO won’t be here for a while lol

  2. That is a great description of what The Knife of Never Letting Go does to you! All I can say is “Manchee”. Need to stop there or I might start crying again.
I just finished the trilogy and I’m trying to put some thoughts together for a review which is tough. A Monster Calls is amazing. It doesn’t leave you as exhausted as the Knife, but it is so moving and wonderfully written.
I have Dumplin’ on my TBR and I think Vengeance Road may have to go on there too – I keep hearing good things 🙂
And congratulations on your 200th post. I published my 100th the other day but didn’t know until I’d hit the “publish” button!

    • I knew what was going to happen with Manchee, because I accidentally seen a spoiler, but it didn’t hurt any less. 😦 I can’t wait to read A Monster Calls, I’ve heard a lot of great things about it. I think I read somewhere that it’s going to be a movie next year.
Dumplin’ is such a great read and I can’t wait to read Vengeance Road. I haven’t had the chance yet, but everyone is loving it.
Thank you! I didn’t know I posted 200 posts until I published mine either. I decided to edit the post and include it in, lol. 😀

  3. Goshh you got some really insane deals out of Goodwill and BookOutlet. I wish we had something that big and awesome out here ! Hope you’re going to enjoy your new reads ! 😀

  4. I legit got so excited when I saw that you posted a haul post!!! YAY I get to look at all your new pretties!!
I love the Vengeance Road cover sooo much!! So pretty!! Have you read it yet? Is it any good? I’m not sure how I feel about a YA western. (Is that even what’s it about??)
You and Shelbie are so cute! I read Amy and Rogers Epic Detour a billion years ago and if I’m remembering rightly it’s really, really great!! Plus the characters name is Amy so you know you have a winner!!
I want to get into the Peculiar Children’s books before the movie is released next year! They sounds so weird and amazing!!!
I’ve heard never ending great things about A Monsters Call so I’m sure you’ll love it!!
I have a copy of The Jewel sitting on my shelf I’ve been thinking about trying to get to it next month!!
Great Haul!!!! Yes you should be proud of yourself that you didn’t buy 70(!!!!!!!! Like, jezz) books again this month!! Gotta save that cash!

    • Book haul posts are always awesome! 🙂
I am so in love with the book cover for Vengeance Road. I haven’t read it yet, but I think I may read it in November. Yeah, I believe it’s a western. I’ve never read any kind of westerns, but it sounds exciting.
I’ve heard a lot of great things about Amy and Roger’s and it sounds like it’ll be good. I can’t wait to read it. The Jewel is by an “Amy”…so I double win. 😛
I think I seen on Ransom Riggs’ Twitter that the release date was moved to Christmas for Miss Peregrine’s. I’m not entirely sure if it’s Christmas this year or Christmas next year.

  5. I totally know what you mean with The Knife of Never Letting Go! Gosh I read it a month or more ago and I still feel torn from it! Manchee 😭

And this book haul is wonderful! So many amazing books, I’m envious! I also have a copy of The Winners Curse and I am very excited to read it!

    • I always feel so torn from it when I think about it. I was going to start the next book this month, but then when I downloaded it to me Kindle I thought about it and decided I wasn’t ready, haha. I have to mentally prepare myself for the next one, because The Knife takes you on a roller coaster of emotions.

Thank you! I was able to get some awesome books without spending a TON of money. I’ve always been up and down about whether I want to read The Winner’s Curse, but I couldn’t pass up the price!

  7. Ahhh, I get so jealous when I see so many gorgeous hardcovers. They don’t sell English hardcovers here unless they’re super popular new releases (like anything by JK Rowling).

I love the cover (and title) for The F-It List. Never heard of it before but I’m definitely intrigued, haha.

    • Ahh 😦 that sucks that you can’t get English hardcovers there.
The F-It List sounds like a really interesting book, so I can’t wait to read it. I agree, I love the cover and the title.

  8. Awesome haul! I need to get the four books your preordered asap as well and I love the cover of The Brilliant Light Of Amber Sunlight; it’s so pretty and colorful! ❤ I hope you like The Winner's Curse better than I did though; I was a bit underwhelmed by it. Most of your ebook hauls are on my TBR as well. 😀
