FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased). Hosted by A Daily Rhythm*All linked to Goodreads*

Hey 🙂

I am so disappointed in myself when it comes to reading this month, even though I actually planned for this month to be a slow one as far as reading goes. I guess I didn’t plan for it to be THIS slow with a big reading slump thrown into it. Sigh. I haven’t read much so far this month, but I also haven’t really been finding too many books to add to my TBR this month as well. Last week I didn’t add any books and this week I only found three books to add to my TBR. These all sound like they’ll be awesome reads and I really love the book covers! Since I only found three, I will include the Goodreads descriptions for you guys.

18005086The Nobody Show by Jonathan Dunne

Goodreads Description: The Nobody Show is an accident waiting to happen…
Old Castle (population 666 … 665 … 664) is a town ravaged by unemployment. The magic is gone and the economy is in the gutter, but newest dole statistic, Arthur Lawless, has a dream…
Arthur wants to chase down his childhood dream to build his own circus. He makes it his mission to put on The Greatest Show on Earth – Old Castle’s slice of Earth, at least…

24910975Inconceivable by Tegan Wren

Goodreads Description: A popular, young royal couple can’t produce an heir? INCONCEIVABLE!
When Ozarks native Hatty goes “whole hog” during karaoke, she catches the eye of Prince John. He isn’t what she expects the heir to a small European nation to be: he’s affable, witty, and isn’t put off by her tell-it-like-it-is demeanor. Their flirtation should be short lived, but a force stronger than fate—Hatty’s newspaper editor—assigns her to cover the royals. After spending time together, she and John soon begin dating, and Hatty finds herself making headlines instead of writing them.

But challenges loom that are even more complicated than figuring out how to mesh Hatty’s journalism career with life at Belvoir Palace. Hatty and John soon find themselves embroiled in an unusual sex scandal: they can’t produce an heir. Tabloids dub Hatty a “Barren-ess,” and the royals become irate. Hatty politely tells them to shove it. But beneath her confident exterior, she struggles to cope with a heartbreak that invades her most intimate moments with John. Pressured to choose between invasive medical procedures and abandoning John’s claim to the throne, the couple feels trapped until a trip to Ethiopia shows them happy endings sometimes arrive long after saying “I do.”

21525995In Real Life by Jessica Love

Goodreads Description: Hannah Cho and Nick Cooper have been best friends since 8th grade. They talk for hours on the phone, regularly shower each other with presents, and know everything there is to know about one another. There’s just one problem: Hannah and Nick have never actually met.

Hannah has spent her entire life doing what she’s supposed to, but when her senior year spring break plans get ruined by a rule-breaker, she decides to break a rule or two herself. She impulsively decides to road trip to Vegas, her older sister and BFF in tow, to surprise Nick and finally declare her more-than-friend feelings for him. Hannah’s romantic gesture backfires when she gets to Vegas and meets Nick’s girlfriend, whom he failed to mention. And it turns out his relationship status isn’t the only thing he’s been lying to her about. Hannah knows the real Nick can’t be that different from the online Nick she knows and loves, but now she only has one night in Sin City to figure out what her feelings for Nick really are, all while discovering how life can change when you break the rules every now and then.

What books have you added to your TBR this week? Link me to your posts if you have one! 🙂

With this month being super slow for me with reading, it has kind of hurt my blogging as well. I never wanted that to happen, so I am going to start to think of some new types of blog posts I can do aside from what I usually do. I know this isn’t the best month for reviews for me. I am working on my “Halloweenie” TBR for October and I’ll be sharing that with you guys closer to October. I plan to read some scary/creepy books throughout the month and I am excited. I also got some cool Halloween bookmarks as well, but currently waiting for them to be delivered. I plan to use those throughout the month!

Random: the new album from The Front Bottoms is pretty amazing! 🙂 Okay, I am off to work! It’s Friday and that’s one of my busiest days at work! I hope you guys have an awesome Friday! And thanks for bearing with me throughout this month so far. Hopefully you’ll see lots more from me soon! You guys are awesome! Bye! ❤

  1. You just added to my TBR list. I agree, In Real Life and Inconceivable sound very promising.

Aside from that, I would like to get my hands on another copy of Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace (my last copy was accidentally abandoned in a hotel room), wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a copy of Paper Towns, want to read Sarah Dessen’s Saint Anything, and have a book from Netgalley I am trying to get onto an e-reader device.

    Thanks for posting!

    • I didn’t like Paper Towns that much and actually ended up not finishing it. I may try again though. I might just not have been in the mood for that type of book at the time. Saint Anything was a pretty good. If you have a smartphone, you can get the Kindle app and you’ll be able to read your galleys on there.

      • I’ve read part of Paper Towns – some of it was available on Wattpad, and I enjoyed the beginning, although I have heard others liked the beginning, but didn’t like the rest. So, we’ll see….

I have a nook, and the Bluefire app, both of which use Adobe Digital Reader, but I guess I could try the kindle app, too. Thanks for the suggestion!

  2. I know this month has been a struggle with you in terms of reading and I really do hope it picks up this week! And good luck with blogging, don’t get overwhelmed if you find yourself feeling stumped on what to post! It’s totally okay.
I recently also put those last two books on my TBR! They sound so good! Great finds ❤

    • Thanks! 🙂 It definitely has been a struggle, but I am hoping it’ll start getting better. I think October is going to be a fun month with my Halloween TBR! Thanks for the advice! Sometimes I feel so bad for not updating my blog or having very much to say, because so many people are following me because they must like what I have to say. So when I have nothing to say, I feel so bad and guilty for not having something for you guys!
So glad you added some of these to your TBR too. They sound great! ❤
