Hi 🙂
I planned to step back from reading so much this month, because I wasn’t enjoying most of what I was reading last month. I felt like it was way too strange, because almost everything I was reading and listening to couldn’t have ALL been not good. I figured I must be burnt out from reading/listening to so many books so far this year (over 100!).
So far I have done that, step back. BUT I think I have definitely fallen into a reading slump as well and I didn’t want that to happen! I still planned to read this month, but at a slower pace than usual. I now find myself not even really wanting to read, sigh. I’ve been reading this eARC for a week now and I’m not even halfway done! I try to read, but my mind just wanders.
I’m not thrilled about this reading slump at all! Hopefully it doesn’t last long, because I’m supposed to be getting Dumplin’ tomorrow and I really want to read it! I had a pretty chill weekend though. I caught up on all my TV shows and then slept most of Sunday. It’s so strange to see my DVR nearly empty.
I watched the first Harry Potter movie last night. I’ve never seen the movies and I just started to listen to the audiobooks this year (I’m on the 6th). I liked the first movie so much better than the first book. Some of the characters weren’t pictured how I seen them in my head though.

That’s all I have for this post! This reading slump is really killing my blogging, because I haven’t been able to post reviews on what I’ve been reading (I haven’t finished many) and I really want to! I wanted to do a post today though, because I haven’t all weekend. Let me know if there are any certain kind of posts that you would like to see me do aside from reviews and tags. I know I do have a few tags to get to though. I hope you all had a great weekend! Bye! ❤
I give you all my best wishes for you to get out of your reading slump! I felt that not long ago and I’m still feeling the effects now! But sometimes it happens. And if you’re excited about reading Dumplin, I say just drop the book you’re reading for it. You might find it will get you out of your slump!
💕
Thank you, Josie! 🙂
Reading slumps are seriously the worst and I really hope to get out of this ASAP!
Yeah, I plan to read Dumplin’ right away and put what I am currently reading aside for a little while.
❤
I know how you feel. I’m to the point now where I can’t even stand to read e-arcs or author requests. When I do read, I don’t want a required review hanging over my head. I just finished Queen of Shadows yesterday and started Ruin and Rising this morning. But I think when I finish that I’m going to take it easy and maybe do some rereads of my favorites. For October I made a list of Halloween-y books I want to read to get in the mood lol.
Good luck! I hope you get out of your slump soon! 🙂
I try to request books that will be published a couple months away from the time I request them. That way I am not forcing myself to get them done ASAP and if I’m not in the mood for it, I still love lots of time. But yeah, I hate having a review for an ARC hanging over my head too. The one I am reading now is being published next week, so I have to really try to finish it. This slump is making it so hard to. 😦
I’ve been trying to take it easy on reading so much, but I still want to get some kind of reading in as well. That turned into a reading slump though, haha.
I’m making a list of Halloweenie type books I want to read in October too! 🙂 I have a few, but I want to find a few more to add to my list. Thanks! ❤
What books do you have so far on your Halloweenie list? I’ve got a few, a couple of them are rereads. I want to concentrate on ones I haven’t read yet but own lol.
So far I have:
The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich
Slasher Girls and Monster Boys
Beyond by Graham McNamee
I’ll probably also read The Library of Souls as well. I preordered the Kindle edition.
I was thinking of buying Blood and Salt by Kim Liggett.
Nice! The Dead House is on my reread list. I’m excited to fully check out the finalized copy when I get it tomorrow.
My other reread is The Bone Collector by Jeffrey Deaver.
I also have:
Salem’s Lot by Stephen King
The Witching Hour by Anne Rice
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Thirst No. 1 by Christopher Pike
When I get home I’m going to look for more options.
I can’t wait to see what you think of Library of Souls. I’m still debating on when I want to buy it.
I can’t wait to see what The Dead House looks like. I’m supposed to get it tomorrow as well. 🙂
I may look up some of those books you have on your list. The titles make them sound super creepy.
I used to watch Salem’s Lot movie a lot as a kid and it always scared me and still does, haha!
I decided to just get the e-book version of Library of Souls, since my other books in the series are in e-book too and my older sister is going to want to read it since I got her to read the others on my Kindle account.
I’m falling into the slump as well! Which isn’t helped when paired with my overwhelming amount of arc’s I need to read. I hope to bounce back soon! I actually haven’t seen all the HP movies, I stopped after the third but definitely want to finish watching them.
