Hi 🙂

I was tagged by Nicole from Sorry, I’m Booked to do the Pastry Book Tag! Go check out her blog! This tag looks like fun, so here we go!

Croissant: Name a popular book or series that everyone (including you) loves.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games series got me back into reading and I know that so many people really love the series. It’s pretty popular as well, of course.

Macaron: Name a book that was hard to get through but worth it at the end.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

I have to go with Throne of Glass, because it was so hard for me to read and get into this book. It took me a very long time and I dreaded reading it the majority of the time. I started to really enjoy it in the last 150 pages and made me look forward to continuing the series. I’m glad I didn’t give up on it. I am hoping the next book is so much better though.

Vol-au-vent: Name a book that you thought would be amazing but fell flat.

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

I tried so hard to love The Wrath and the Dawn, but it was just not for me. I was bored a lot of the time and I felt like nothing was really going on until the very end of the book. It was confusing with all the characters since there were so many and all being thrown at you at once. The names and titles were confusing as well. I was disappointed, because I really thought it would be an amazing read.

Pain au chocolat: Name a book that you thought would be one thing but turned out to be something else.

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

I thought this book was going to be really awesome, but it really was not awesome at all. The entire book was just bleh. Nothing really happened and the characters weren’t great. I say this a lot, but the food was on point though. Honestly, it turned out to be a huge food craving for me than anything. LOL. It’s like they had a Thanksgiving feast 3 times a day every day.

Profiterole: Name a book or series that doesn’t get enough attention.

Razorland triology by Ann Aguirre

I loved the Razorland series so much and I wish that more people would read it! It’s definitely one of my favorites and it is an interesting series. I don’t really see anything about it anywhere, which is so sad!

Croquembouche: Name a book or series that’s extremely complex.

Endgame: The Calling by James Frey

The Calling was the most confusing book I ever tried to read and there was just so much going on and not the good kind. It was told in multiple (LOTS) of different points of views and it was hard to keep up with everything and everyone. I got a little over halfway done with it and just stopped reading. I don’t know if I will ever pick it up again or not. It sounded promising, but it’s just way too confusing and too many things to try to remember that it took away from the story for me.

Napoleon: Name a movie or TV show based off a book that you liked better than the book itself.

Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers

I honestly have no clue what to put down for this one. I guess I will go with Mary Poppins. I love the movie so much and I wasn’t a fan of the first Mary Poppins book. I think it’s because I was so used to the movie and loving the movie so much that it wasn’t as enjoyable for me.

Empanada: Name a book that was bittersweet.

Blood of My Blood by Barry Lyga

It was bittersweet, because I didn’t want the series to end. It was an amazing book and an amazing series. I was happy to see how it all ended, but I didn’t want it to ever end.

Kolompeh: Name a book or series that takes place somewhere other than your home country.

My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher

My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece takes place in London and I live in the United States. I’ve always wanted to go to London.

Pate a Choux: Name one food from a book or series that you would like to try.
