It’s Tuesday, so Top Ten Tuesday time! The topic today is ten characters that I didn’t click with. Lately, I’ve been having trouble connecting with characters, which is sad. Here are the ones that I didn’t click with the most.
America – The Selection
Hermione – Harry Potter
Cadence – We Were Liars
Ember – Talon
Matthew – The Shock of the Fall
Clary – City of Bones
Lena – Beautiful Creatures
Nora – Hush Hush
Austin – Grasshopper Jungle
Jam – Belzhar
I know that pretty much everyone loves Hermione, but I honestly hate her. She’s such an annoying character and I really can’t stand her. I also really can’t stand America. I really enjoy the Selection series, but I don’t enjoy America at all. Same goes for Ember from the Talon series. It’s such a good series, but Ember was so hard to deal with and so was her brother Dante. I wasn’t a big fan of Cadence from We We Liars, because I just thought she was so dumb. Honestly though, I didn’t like any of the characters or the book. As for Matthew, I just didn’t like him. There was just something about him that I didn’t like.
Clary, Lena, and Nora were plain annoying when it came to the love interests. Grasshopper Jungle was one of my recent DNF books. Austin was just a weird boy and it got annoying when all he thought and talked about was sex. Jam, like Matthew from The Shock of the Fall, I just did not like her at all. Lately, characters have just been super annoying to me and so hard to connect with.

Aww I like Hermione but I totally get you’re stand here 🙂 I also don’t like Clary!! I love everything about the book except her. She’s so obnoxious!!
So many people like her, but I just can’t; especially in the first couple HP books.
I had Cadence and Matthew on my list this week too! I didn’t have Clary on my list but I didn’t click with her either. She’s one of the main reasons I won’t be finishing the series.
I pushed through the series, but she doesn’t ever get any better lol! The first four books were good, but the last two were just so boring and dragged on and on. The series really should have ended after book three.
I completely agree about Cadence and the characters in her book. I had to suspend my disbelief far too much be okay with how they were acting.
I KNOW! OMG! It was just so horrible and such a big reason why I didn’t like the book.
Clary and the characters from We Were Liars made my list too. I just couldn’t make myself care about them.

Uggh Cadence. I couldn’t even finish the darn book because of her. I’m so sad that you don’t like Hermione, but to each their own. 🙂 Hopefully you will warm up to her as you read the series…but it’s cool if you don’t. 🙂
Everyone probably hates me because I don’t like her, HAH! I read the first five books so far, but the first three books are the ones that I really can’t stand her.
Haha, Hermione. She’s one of my favorite characters in the series but I know that in real life we probably wouldn’t get along.

How could you forget Ember!? LOL! I really love the Talon series so far, but I really hate Ember.
I’m the opposite. I didn’t like Talon and one of the reasons why is Ember.
