Hi 🙂
The week seems to be going by pretty quickly. I’ve been pretty tired this week. Trying to go to sleep at a decent time has been a complete fail over the last few months. Sigh. Also found out some not so good news yesterday, so that sucks. BUT, I always try to stay positive about everything, so I am not too worried about things. Anyway though! I decided to do a WWW post, because it’s been a little while since I’ve done one.
Currently Reading:
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
Mosquitoland by David Arnold
The Knife of Never Letting Go is such a strange book, but I am really enjoying it. I am really excited to continue to read it later today! You know, because being adult can get in the way of reading a lot of the time. I’m about 70% finished with the Mosquitoland audiobook. The audiobook is good, it has a good narrator. The story itself is alright. I’m not blown away with it like everyone seems to be. I swear to you though, something must be wrong with me. Because most of the books I’ve been reading haven’t been blowing me away lately! Sigh.
Recently Finished:
Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen – Review.
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh – Review.
Remember how I just said that books lately haven’t been blowing me away? Here are two more examples! I did enjoy these books overall as a whole, but honestly, not as much as I would have hoped. And certainly not as much as so many others have loved and raved about these books. Linked above are my reviews for both.
Reading Next:
Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz
The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith
I will definitely be getting to Shattered Blue next as it is a Netgalley book that I have to read and review. I tried starting it, but I was feeling slumpish and decided to put it aside. It sounds like a really good book though, so I am looking forward to it. My next audiobook may be The Cuckoo’s Calling. It sounds like a really good book, so I may give it a chance.
Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think about them? What are you currently reading? Finished reading? Reading next?
Leave a comment and link me to your posts! 🙂
I am honestly pretty overwhelmed with the amount of books that I want to read that I own. Lately, I’ve been staring at my bookcases and my Kindle and I just look away. There are so many and I bought so many this month. I don’t want to say it’s making reading less fun, but in a way it kind of is. Something I love to do shouldn’t feel so overwhelming, you know? I think next month I am going to try to chill with the buying books and plus, I kind of have to with how things are going right now in other parts of my life.
Anyway, I’ve been slowly working on my August wrap up post and my August book haul post. I am currently waiting for some books, but I don’t think they will all be here before August ends. I know the majority of them will be Friday. The other four I’m not sure about. I have to get off here and get to work though. I hope you all have an awesome day! ❤
I’ve just finished The Wrath and the Dawn (minutes ago!) and I know what you mean. It’ll be a struggle to write a review because it’s good, but not amazing (more over-hype). And thank you for mentioning the glossary in your review – it saved me a lot of stress!
I have a book to finish and then I’m on The Knife of Never Letting Go too!
I hope things start to look up for you soon. And try not to let your books stress you out – none of us will ever get to all the books we want to read.
Here’s my WWW: http://clairehuston.wordpress.com/2015/08/26/www-wednesday-26th-august-2015/
I hate when I am trying to write a review, but have a hard time doing so because of it being good, but not amazing. I am actually going through that right now with trying to write a review for Mosquitoland! I am glad my review helped you out! I wish I would have known about the glossary before I was almost finished, lol. Would have saved me from a ton of headaches and annoyances, lol.
Thank you! ❤
I loved Saint Anything but it didn’t give me the same feeling finishing other Dessen novels have so I see how it didn’t blow you away. Here’s my WWW!
I keep meaning to read The Knife of Never Letting Go! Also The Cuckoo’s Calling, which I attempted to read once but couldn’t get into; I hope you don’t have the same experience.

Hopefully you get to read The Knife of Never Letting Go soon! I’m going to listen to the audiobook for The Cuckoo’s Calling, so hopefully it’s good. With audiobooks, it’s hard to listen if you don’t like the narrator. 🙂
It might be a while; I stopped myself buying The Knife of Never Letting Go the other day because I’d already preordered Ness’ new book!
I preordered his new book too. 🙂 can’t wait for it!
My copy actually arrived today :’) it’s so beautiful!
AHHH! So lucky! It doesn’t come out in the US until October. 😦
Oh no, hopefully it’s worth the wait!
I can definitely relate to the feeling of being overwhelmed by the amount of books to read. I look at my shelves and I feel like it’s a chore to read them all simply because there are so many. I kind of feel like I accumulated too many at once. But, I love to read and collect books. Bibliophile problems at its finest!
Totally agree. Definitely a bibliophile problem! lol.
I really liked Cuckoo so I hope you enjoy it! I’ve been meaning to get to the sequel soon. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
Thanks! I hope I enjoy it too. It sounds really good! 🙂
I know the feeling of being overwhelmed by seeing all of the owned books you need to read. I feel like I do that far too often. After I finished my TBR for Bout of Books, I just sat staring at each of my bookshelves trying to come up with an option I wanted to read next. And the book I chose ended up not being that good. I’ve been better this month with not buying books… well kind of lol. I’ve place a few more pre-orders which I normally don’t do.
I want to blame this blog for buying so many books! LOL! I’ve always loved reading, but I used to just read on my Kindle app and I would only buy a book (or a series if I liked the books enough) when I needed to read them next. LOL! I didn’t have too many physical books. But now I am starting on my third bookcase! LOL! Sigh. I just love books so much and this blog actually sparked my love even more! I have so pre-orders too. I am going to try my hardest to let my pre-orders be enough for awhile lol! And just try to wait until Christmas when I can ask for family to buy me books instead lol.
I’m finding a lot of issues similar to what you feel about Wrath of the Dawn. I feel like some of these books get so much hype over on bookstagram that I pick them up super psyched, and then I’m like well that was good, but why is everyone fan girling so hard over these?
I am the same way, especially lately. I’m always so excited because everyone is loving these books and then I’m like “….okay, it was good…but what did I miss”. lol. I always think I miss some huge plot twist or something. lol
I’m sorry to hear you got some bad news; hopefully things will get better soon! 🙂 I always hate it when books end up being a disappointment… I have Saint Everything on my TBR as well, but I have been putting it off for the same reason. You already know I didn’t like The Wrath as much as some others… 😉 I wasn’t really a fan of The Cuckoo’s Calling myself, but hopefully you will enjoy it better than I did!
Thanks for visiting my WWW! 🙂
Thank you 🙂
So many books have been disappointments to me this month. It totally sucks! I think I am just having an off month or something.
Hopefully next month will be better! 🙂

Oh it makes me sad to hear things have been a bit down for you.. I do really hope things get better, and if blogging ever stresses you out don’t hesitate to take a little break! And its horrible when things get to the point where you feel so overwhelmed to read. I was currently feeling that, now I’m trying to get back into the swing of reading.
I’m currently about to read Cloudwish, a book I need to read for a Netgalley review, and I’ve also for Shattered Blue that I need to read!
It’s a shame The Wrath and the Dawn didn’t impress you as much!
Great post, as always.
xoxo 💕💋
Thank you! ❤
Hopefully we both get back into the swing of things with reading. I think I'm having an off month, which is why I am having trouble really enjoying the books I've been reading.
I am really excited about Shattered Blue, it sounds so good! 🙂
