Virals by Kathy Reichs
4 OUT OF 5 STARS.

I am so glad I decided to give this audiobook a chance! I really enjoyed this book and I actually enjoyed all of the characters as well. It did take a little while to really get into everything, but it wasn’t a complete torture getting there. I love the idea of this book and I thought it played out nicely. There were a few twists and surprises as well and those were great. I thought it was a fun read and it kept me interested throughout.

I am really excited to eventually read the next book in the series. I am excited to see what happens next, because the main focus on this first book was solving the murder case. There wasn’t a whole lot about the virus Tory and her friends caught. I’d like to see more about the virus. Overall though, I enjoyed this book and definitely excited about the next one!

Goodreads Description: Tory Brennan, niece of acclaimed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (of the Bones novels and hit TV show), is the leader of a ragtag band of teenage “sci-philes” who live on a secluded island off the coast of South Carolina. When the group rescues a dog caged for medical testing on a nearby island, they are exposed to an experimental strain of canine parvo virus that changes their lives forever. As the friends discover their heightened senses and animal-quick reflexes, they must combine their scientific curiosity with their new found physical gifts to solve a cold-case murder that has suddenly become very hot if they can stay alive long enough to catch the killer’s scent. Fortunately, they are now more than friends. They’re a pack. They are Virals.

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? What are you currently reading now? Let me know in the comments!

I have to read three books in the next 10-14 days and I am kind of freaking out about that! The library decided to give me all of my e-books that I requested all at one time earlier this month and I haven’t gotten the chance to get around to them yet and they are almost due back, yikes! Yesterday they finally sent me my book club book (Shadow and Bone) too, so I have to read that before our book chat about the book. I read pretty fast, but lately I’ve been sort of slumpish, so I haven’t been reading as much as I usually do at home. I may have to put my current read on hold (or try to finish it today; I’m half way though it), so I can pick up these other books!

Anyway, I think that’s all for this post! I have to get to work. Here are some recent posts that I’ve done if you want to check them out.

July Book Haul. – New books that I bought in the second of this month.
Top Ten Tuesday. – Ten books celebrating diversity.
Thoughts: Ketchup Clouds. – My thoughts on the book Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher.

I hope you all have a great day! Bye! ❤
