July Book Haul.

IMG_0392

Hi 🙂

I was doing an amazing job with not buying books in June and then I went pretty much the first half of July with only spending about $11 on books at Goodwill (book haul post over here). WELL….I don’t know what happened to my doing good, because I ended up buying some books! YIKES! This book haul will be a mix of physical books, pre-orders, and e-books. I went a little crazy with e-book buying as well, because there were so many on sale and the price was just TOO right to not “one-click buy”, sigh. These are books I have gotten throughout second half of July. I don’t think I will be buying anymore books this month, so I am calling this my July book haul. They will all be linked to Goodreads; onto the books!

Physical Books:

The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker
More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
Emmy & Oliver by Robin Benway
Denton Little’s Deathdate by Lance Rubin
A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

I’ve been dying for More Happy Than Not and Emmy & Oliver, so I was finally able to get them! I can’t wait to dive into them! I am also really looking forward to The Witch Hunter. I’ve been eyeballing the other three every single time I go to Target and I finally decided to just get them! I also got these cute little magnetic bookmarks as well!

The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini
Paladin by Sally Slater
Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Map to the Stars
by Jen Malone
Blood of My Blood by Barry Lyga
Hey Sunshine by Tia Giacalone
Freak of Nature by Julia Crane
The Last Knight by Nicola S. Dorrington
Hollywood Witch Hunter by Valerie Tejeda

I had to get Blood of My Blood, because the Jasper Dent (I Hunt Killers) series is just so amazing! I plan to buy the physical copies of the entire series in the future, for sure! I haven’t read The Iron King yet, but The Iron Daughter was on sale for $0.99, so I couldn’t pass it up. I am also really excited about these other books too and they were ranging in price from Free-$2.99 at the time that I purchased them, some may still be in this price range today.

I have this system regarding when I choose to buy e-books and when I choose to buy the physical books. If it’s a book that I do want to read (or on the fence about wanting to read), but I don’t see myself actually wanting to spend the extra money for the physical copy, then I will get the e-book. Also, if it’s a book that I want to read right away, then I will get the e-book and purchase the physical copy later.

Pre-Ordered Physical Books:

1830432223734628238309901869243123719270

Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman

I pre-ordered all of these books because the pricing was below $10! I could not pass that up, because I am guaranteed the lower price once the items are available to ship! These are some of the books that I am most anticipating this year, so I am excited. I found out this week that Disney is making Dumplin’ into a movie, AHHHH! I am so excited about that and I haven’t even read the book yet! I read an eARC for Everything, Everything and I have to own it!

Super stoked about all of these books! Let me know in the comments if you’ve read any of these books and what you thought about them!

In case you missed them, here are a couple of recent posts that I have done this week linked below:

  1. Another great haul. And it’s reminded me, I’ve been meaning to ask – and not just you, but lots of book bloggers – what do you do when your shelves can’t take any more? Get new shelves? Re-sell the books you didn’t like as much? Take them to the goodwill/charity shop?
This is why I try and get as many books as I can from the library – not only to save money, but because there’s no more room on my shelves! 🙂

    • Thanks 🙂
I usually buy a new bookshelf. I already have to get another one! I usually buy really cheap ones. There is this cheap one that I get at K-Mart (I’m sure other stores have super cheap ones too) that’s $30. So the pricing isn’t too bad for that. Considering that I buy more than I actually read, I have no idea what I’ll be doing with the books that I don’t really like that much. Giving them away might be a good idea though!

  2. Cute bookmarks! Where in your Target did you find those? I never see any kind of bookmarks or anything like that at mine! I totally want to read all of the books on your pre-ordered list! I just got approved on NetGalley for Everything, Everything so I’m excited to get farther into that.

    • Thanks 🙂
There is a little section in the book section at Target that has bookmarks and book lights. That’s where I found these bookmarks. Every Target I have been to has had a little section like that.
I really hope you enjoy Everything, Everything. I flew threw that book, because it was so good!

      • Well my Target sucks once again then because I’ve scoured the book section and have never seen bookmarks or book lights 😦 I need a new book light too lol.

      • That is so crazy! That sucks 😦 It’s usually mixed in with the books. Like on one of the smaller shelves there is a little tiny section with them at the Targets around here.

      • They have changed our Target around so many times and got rid of things. I’ll have to check one of the bigger Targets when I go shopping on Monday.

  3. I love book haul posts!! I actually got excited when I read the title of you post haha!
All those pretty hardbacks!! They looks to beautiful. I have been so interested in reading Witch Hunter and More Happy Than Not everyone’s been singing these two nothing but praises and that gets me excited!!
I know there are so many ebooks there to get to but you have to read Trial By Fire it is one of my favourite reads this year! Bloody Awesome!! At the start of the month I set myself concert plans to read Tiger Lily this month but I don’t think it’s going to end up happening! Bummer!
Is never heard of Denton Little’s Death Date before but it sounds so entertaining it’s definitely being added to the TBR
I’m so excited to also own all your preorder books. Where were they $10 to preorder???? I must know!!! Haha! I didn’t know Disney was making Dumpling into a movie but that’s so exciting!
This is a fantastic haul!!! Have a great time drowning in your amazing pile of books!

    • I am so glad that you enjoyed this post! I love book haul posts too! 🙂 I’ve heard nothing but good things about The Witch Hunter and More Happy Than Not too. I’ve been dying to read them, so I was really excited to finally get them. Trial By Fire is definitely one of the top e-books that I want to get to ASAP! I’ve heard so many good things about it. I preordered them all on Amazon. They have so many new releases at below $10 right now. Some of these may still be at the price, not completely sure though. THANK YOU! ❤

      • I will definitely be checking out Amazon to see if I can still score a cheap pre order. I can’t wait to read what you thought about Trial By Fire – I hope you like it and then we can fangirl together over Firewalker when it’s released on September 1st. (Same day as Queen of Shadows – in my opinion the best day of the year!)

      • I hope that there are still more that are under $10 that you can preorder! I know the prices go up and down all the time though, so I am sure it’ll be down again before the release dates! I totally can’t wait to fangirl about Trial By Fire with you! I need to read it ASAP! Hopefully within the next month!

      • Oh my goodness! I’m on Amazon looking at how cheap they are to pre order then now and I’m about to make myself broke buying $10-$13 dollar hardbacks!! Thanks for telling me!! 🙂 🙂

      • You don’t have to pay until they ship though! So it gives you time to save up money before the release dates if they are far out. 🙂 🙂

  4. So many good books on here, I hope you’ll enjoy them! I can’t wait to read Emmy & Oliver, I’m sure it’s the kind of story I would love, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about this one! (and all of the others too, obviously. I feel like my TBR is going to grow once again thanks to you! :D)

    • Thanks 🙂 Ahhh, so sorry about your TBR hahah! Mine is constantly growing too though! I am so excited about Emmy & Oliver the most. I’ve been dying for that book. 🙂

  5. Awesome haul! So many of the books you bought I’m really looking forward to read myself as well! Especially Blood Of My Blood, Carry On and Everything, Everything. 😀

    • Thanks! 🙂
I went a little crazy with buying books, but I am happy with them all.
I can’t wait for Blood of My Blood! I really wish I didn’t have four other books I need to read first! lol.

      • You never can go crazy enough when it comes to books. 😉 I’m really looking forward to Blood Of My Blood as well! I want to read it ASAP, but I also don’t want it to end… I will probably end up reading it early next month anyway lol.

      • I don’t want it to end either! I also can’t wait to see it ends too, lol. I’ll probably read it next month as well. I just have to get these library books read since they have to be back soon and then I can get back to my personal books and this one. I think I’m going to be holding off on the library books for awhile lol.

  6. WOW! What a load of books. You will be kept busy for quite awhile. Is there any othe rway to spend your money on? I think not!

  7. Great haul, Ashley!! 🙂 I’m probably going to pre-order some of the books you pre-ordered. I’ve been trying to cut down on book buying. So, pre-ordering books doesn’t seem so bad! (Bibliophile logic) 😛
