After the End by Amy Plum

“Doubt everything at least once. What you decide to keep, you’ll be able to be confident of. And what you decide to ditch, you will replace with what your instincts tell you is true.”
I had no idea what to think about this book when I first seen it. It was one of those books I added to my TBR, because I eventually-maybe-one day would want to read it. I wasn’t in any rush, but I seen that the library had the audiobook available, so I jumped on it. I am so so so glad that I did!
I enjoyed this book so much and I was kind of nervous about not liking it. It only has about a 3.6 rating on Goodreads, so I wasn’t sure if it was going to be any good. There were so many secrets in this book and it was hard not to be fully engaged with it and wanting to know what was going on.
It was a pretty interesting story and I think Amy did a great job writing it. Juneau had to go through a lot and deal with every single person she came across and knew in her life to be lying to her. Everything she thought she knew was turned upside down when she was thrown into this other world she had no idea about.
I loved Juneau and I thought she was a really great character. Even with everything that went wrong, she didn’t let it break her too much. She was on a mission to find her clan and she did everything she could to make it happen. I had a love/hate for Miles, but at the end I totally was loving him. I felt he really grew throughout the book.
Road trip, camping, mishaps, and overall just crazy things! The end was a total cliffhanger in my opinion and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book! So many questions needing answered and I’m excited about getting them! Sadly, my library doesn’t have it. 😦 I may have to just buy it. I defintely recommend this book! I didn’t have the highest expectations going into it, but I seriously came out loving this book so much! ❤
“Something is nagging at the edge of my consciousness. It’s a good feeling, but I can’t quite place it. And then suddenly I do. It’s a feeling of being where I’m supposed to be. A feeling of knowing that I’m in the right place at the right time. With the right person.”
Goodreads Description: She’s searching for answers to her past. They’re hunting her to save their future. World War III has left the world ravaged by nuclear radiation. A lucky few escaped to the Alaskan wilderness. They’ve survived for the last thirty years by living off the land, being one with nature, and hiding from whoever else might still be out there. At least, this is what Juneau has been told her entire life. When Juneau returns from a hunting trip to discover that everyone in her clan has vanished, she sets off to find them. Leaving the boundaries of their land for the very first time, she learns something horrifying: There never was a war. Cities were never destroyed. The world is intact. Everything was a lie. Now Juneau is adrift in a modern-day world she never knew existed. But while she’s trying to find a way to rescue her friends and family, someone else is looking for her. Someone who knows the extraordinary truth about the secrets of her past.
