Top Ten Hyped Books I’ve Never Read.

Hi! πŸ™‚

There are so many books that it seems like everyone has read, except me! Some I actually do want to read and others I’m not interested in that all. This was a fun topic to do even though it was pretty hard to narrow it down to ten books since there are so many! Here are ten of those books:

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Legend by Marie Lu

These five are books that I really want to read and I am hoping to finally get around to them this year! I actually own Cinder, Outlander, and The Night Circus, so no more excuses! I am also really looking forward to Mara Dyer and Legend.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

These five are books that I probably won’t ever read or not at the top of my TBR list. I actually only have two of these books on my TBR and one of them (Clockwork Angel) has been on my TBR since 2013, lol! I have The Girl on the Train on my TBR as well, but I’m not in any rush to read it. My sister let me borrow her copy of Gone Girl and it’s been on my bookshelf for like a year now, oops. I don’t know that I will ever read these or anytime soon. I’m wary about Clockwork Angel (even though everyone says it so good and so much better than TMI). I just didn’t like TMI and it was such a drag toward the fourth book and to the last. I’ve been so done with the Shadowhunter world.

Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Leave a comment below and link me to your TTT posts!

I have to get to work, but here are a few other posts linked below in case you have missed them and want to check them out:

Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag. – a fun little tag based around starting up my blog and other random things about my blog. I included some pictures I took over the weekend.
Thoughts: We Were Liars. – what I thought about the book We Were Liars by E. Lockhart.
Top Ten Tuesday. – top books I read so far in 2015; TTT post from last week.

To end this post, here is a random picture of ColbyJack from last night. I was attempting to work on some blog posts, but he wasn’t having it.

  1. I had Clockwork Angel on my list this week too! I really didn’t care for TMI so I’m hesitant to start the other series. I read Vampire Academy and it was so not worth it.

    • At first I liked TMI, but then it just went downhill for me. So I’m also hesitant about starting the other series because of that. I’ve seen Vampire Academy around, but I have no desire to ever read it.

  2. The Infernal Devices are far better than TMI- they’re so atmospheric and her writing style had honed itself by then. Also, there’s a male friendship that feels real, unlike Jace and Alec’s supposed parabatai pact.
    The Night Circus is great.

    • I was able to get the e-book for Clockwork Angel on sale last month, so maybe eventually I’ll start it. I feel like I have to prepare myself…haha. I don’t know, TMI was just not good after book 3.

  3. Basically all these books are ones I haven’t read but I REALLY want to read! I’m going to be reading Clockwork Angel this month, so I’ll let you know how it goes! xoxo

    • Can’t wait to see what you think about Clockwork Angel. I was able to get the book on sale for like $2.99 for the e-book last month…so I have it, but not sure if or when I’ll be starting it.

  4. I loved LOVED Cinder and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, The Night Circus, Outlander and Legend are high on my TBR pile. I personally really enjoyed Clockwork Angel, but Gone Girl was quite a disappointment and Vampire Academy even worse. The other two titles are on my TBR…

ColbyJack is cute as always. πŸ˜€

    • Hopefully I can finally get to Cinder this month or next. I don’t want to put it off anymore! I’m missing out! 😦 haha. I really want to get to Outlander, The Night Circus, and Legend this year! I read a couple chapters of Gone Girl last year, but never continued with it.

      • I know the feeling! I have so many books everybody seems to love I still need to read… I’m going to try and read those three this year as well! Gone Girl for me was overhyped, but who knows, you might end up enjoying it. πŸ˜‰

  5. Cinder is a great series, I say give that a try! I’ll probably never read Gone Girl either. The movie irritated me to no end. Cute kitty! Ours always walk across the keyboard when we have our laptops out! Silly kitties!!!

    • I’ll for sure be giving Cinder a try. Hopefully within the next month or so. Thank you! πŸ™‚ He only ever wants to be on the desk when someone is using it, lol!

  6. Great post! I’ve read a few of these. I want to read Vampire Academy, I heard the series starts out great, but then the series fizzles. So maybe just the first few VA books for me. πŸ™‚

  7. I’ve read VA, Cinder and Clockwork Angel, they were good, but not as good as you would think considering all the hype. Currently thinking about reading Legend, but I’m not really sure about it. But I’m not really interested in reading any of the others you have on your list. Great list!
    My TTT

  8. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, Cinder by Marissa Meyer and Legend by Marie Lu are great books! I really hope you enjoy them once you read them. The Girl on the Train, Gone Girl and Ready Player One are on my TBR as well, and I’ve read VA & Clockwork Angel. I’m sorry to hear you’re not interested in reading Clockwork Angel, it’s a great book, and if you didn’t like TMI, I would say you’d still enjoy Clockwork Angel and the rest of the TDA series. πŸ™‚ Great list!

    • I think I’m somewhat of a mood reader. I know I have tons of books that I own and want to read, but then when I go to pick my next book….I’m not really sure I really want to read it right then and now, lol. Armada sounds like it’ll be a really good read. I think it sounds a lot better than Ready Player One.

  9. I forgot to add “Gone Girl.” Everyone says it’s good but I’ve decided to pass on it.
I also plan to read “The Night Circus.” I intended to read it this summer but whenever I think about it, I imagine myself reading it in the winter. I don’t know why.

    • I tried to read Gone Girl, but after a couple chapters I just put it down and never picked it up again. Hopefully we both get around to The Night Circus soon ! πŸ™‚

  10. I actually enjoyed Clockwork Angel, but then I read bad things about the author, and also that the two series were pretty repetitive. I LOVE Cinder and the rest of the series! I was disappointed in The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. Did not live up to its premise.

  11. Great list! I do recommend that you try out Clockwork Angel; I wasn’t too big on the Shadowhunter world either (although I enjoyed TMI, as a whole), but the historical London backdrop was much more fascinating. Also, the characters were so much more developed.

Cinder was great, but I’m one of the few people who liked Scarlet better. πŸ˜€ Hope you get around to reading it soon! Mara Dyer was also great; the first two books were fantastic- the last one was okay. I definitely seem to like it more than a lot of other people, but it didn’t live up to the first two.

    • I have the e-book for Clockwork Angel that I was able to get on sale last month, so I will eventually read it. So many people say it’s a lot better than TMI, so I am kind of curious if it really is.

I fee like I’m the only one that hasn’t read Cinder (or the other books). LOL! I think I may read it this month or next for sure.

    • Ahhh 😦 I know so many people like it and I always get scared I won’t like it. It’s happened with a lot of books I’ve read where there was so much hype around it, but I just did not like it. Like the most recent being We Were Liars. I did not like that book at all, but so many people say they loved it.

  12. I also have both CInder and Legend on my list. I couldn’t get through Outlander. I was hoping I’d love it after all the hype but I made it about 25% into it before giving up. There was no way I was finishing a book that long that was that boring to me.
