HEY 🙂
I am trying to work through more of the 2015 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge, so here is another post for that. You can find other books I’ve read/listened to for the challenge over on my blog. There is a category for them! I am really excited about this next book that I just finished and I am sure you all have seen my excitement in posts or on social media.
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
FIVE STARS.
“He talked about the ocean between people. And how the whole point of everything is to find a shore worth swimming to.”
I just finished reading Simon vs. and it was SO GOOD! I loved it so much and it’s definitely moving up in the list to being one of my favorite books. It was perfection! I flew through the book in three days (basically two days though, since on the first day I only read the first chapter), which was awesome. It was also sad that I flew through the book, because I didn’t want it to end! It was hard not to fall in love with all of the characters in the book, especially Simon and Blue! I laughed so much throughout the entire book and I smiled and giggled like a huge dork! So much cuteness that you really could not have had that reaction! I definitely recommend this book to everyone! It was such a great read and I am sad that it’s over! I think I will always be wondering what the characters from the book are up to! I don’t want to say too much about the book, because I don’t want to risk spoilers! So just take my word for it and read the book! 🙂
Goodreads desciption: Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised. With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.
“The way I feel about him is like a heartbeat — soft and persistent, underlying everything.”
Here’s something totally exciting! Becky Albertalli tweeted me. 🙂
Are there any books that you read that were published this year? Or are there any that you are excited about that will be coming out this year? Let me know in the comments! I know I have tons of them that I am excited for!
Book Haul post Monday or Tuesday. I was really hoping I would get to do it this weekend, but it looks like my books won’t be delivered until Monday or Tuesday. 😦 I was crossing my fingers, because they are at the post office in my area…just not at my front door! UGH! I did go to Goodwill today and found six books, which will be included in my book haul post next week. I am totally excited about my Goodwill finds today, but more about them in my book haul post. This post is actually becoming super long already, lol!
Here are some random pictures featuring Simon vs. since this post is about the book and I was fangirling like crazy over it and ended up snapping a lot of pictures throughout the three days I was reading it. lol. I’m a tad bit crazy, ask anyone! 😉
Here are some of my other posts from this week in case you missed them or want to check them out!
