Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Hey! 🙂 It has been a few days since I’ve done a post. I’ve slowly been getting through my reading, which is kind of disappointing. If I’m not reading, it’s hard to come up with post ideas! I’m actually really disappointed in myself, because it’s the middle of April and I’ve only gotten four books done so far.
Anyway! I decided to participate in Teaser Tuesdays today, since I haven’t posted in awhile and it sounds like a fun post. This is the first time I’ve done this meme, so let’s go!
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas.
“Princes are not supposed to be handsome! They’re sniveling, stupid, repulsive creatures! This one…this…How unfair of him to be royal and beautiful.”
“You are each competing for the title of my Champion- my right hand sword in a world brimming with enemies.”
I “cheated” and chose a sentence from two different pages. I am actually not very far into the book like I hoped I would be. I got so distracted over the weekend with other things, that I simply did not read as much as I hoped. I am really liking the book so far though and I’m hoping to have it finished this week.
I am really excited about getting some books in the mail this week and I am hoping to get some others in the mail next week! Expect a book haul this week or next week when I get the others. Depends on if I can contain my excitement, lol. It’s a total of 13 books! AHHHHHH! I am excited just thinking about it! I am going to Target today to buy my nephew the first Harry Potter book and I am hoping I don’t end up buying myself a book too. I am going to keep thinking about the fact that I have 13 books coming to me in the mail over the next two weeks and hopefully that will be good enough to make me not buy another. *crossing my fingers*
Anyway though…I was so excited when my nephew asked me for a Harry Potter book, because he usually wants video games. It was totally random. Yesterday morning I went to walk Dax and my nephew was waiting to go to school and he asked me if he could have my Harry Potter book (I don’t have one), so I told him I would buy him one and he got so excited about it. He also asked me this morning where it was, lol. I told him I was getting it today.
Here are some pictures before I end this post. 🙂
Me reading over the weekend before all the distractions occurred.
Distraction number one: I’m not quite finished yet, but I’m pretty stoked about my coloring skills on this. lol. My younger sister did one with me too, so we chilled and colored.
Distraction number two: getting frozen yogurt with the boyfriend and younger sister. We usually go every Saturday.
Distraction number three: Dax being cuddly. It’s rare that he is cuddly like this. He usually just likes to chill at the end of the bed. I can’t pass up moments like this.
Distraction number four: I painted my nails. It had been awhile since I painted them and it needed to be done, lol.
And ColbyJack is always a distraction. 😉
The boys. Dax looking for a toy to play with and ColbyJack being nosy watching him.
Well there you go! I hope you enjoyed this post and as you can see, I had a ton of distractions, lol. I won’t even include Pinterest, because we all know that is forever a distraction. I have to get ready for work and walk the pup. Hopefully I get some books read, so I can do some reviews! Or maybe I’ll go back and review some of the other books I have read so far this year that I haven’t done a review on (which is probably more than half of the 39 books!).
In case you missed it, you can check out my last post over here. I answer bookish questions – The Ultimate Book Tag.
Link me to your Teaser Tuesdays post or leave a comment with a teaser from the book you are currently reading! I am always looking to add books to my TBR, of course! BYE! ❤
I hope you like Throne of Glass. I liked it okay but I *really* liked the books that followed it in the series.
So far I like it. I’ve heard the other books in the series are even better, so that’s good! 🙂
Throne of Glass looks interesting – I like the cover art, and the Teasers you chose are good too. Here’s my Teaser for this week: http://justasecondblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/teaser-tuesdays-april-14-2015.html
So far it’s a really good read and I also love the cover. Thank you for linking me to your post. 🙂
That’s one book that’s been on my radar, but I haven’t picked it up yet. You have so many lovely distractions. I’m delighted that your nephew is into Harry Potter. I wish my kiddo would ask for books!
Mine this week is a cozy mystery: http://pdworkman.com/excerpt-from-death-by-a-honey-bee/
Hopefully you can pick it up soon! Thank you 🙂 He has never asked for books before, so this was exciting that he actually did. I did take him to the library once and he picked out a book. I hope that him reading Harry Potter will get him more into books. Thank you for linking me to your post.
My cat is always a distraction for me! He is just too cute!
I loved Throne of Glass, and I hope you enjoy it, I thought it was fantastic.
I also did a Teaser Tuesday just now, feel free to go onto my blog and have a look! I’m reading a book that I’m really excited for.
I can’t help the cuteness! I always have to stop what I am doing and pet him, lol. So far I am really enjoying Throne of Glass and I am excited to read more of it.
It’s almost impossible for me to go to a bookstore and leave without a book for myself. Good luck with that. I hope you enjoy Throne of Glass. I’ve heard a lot about that book.
My Tuesday post features AN UNHOLY ALLIANCE.
Yay for teaser tuesdays! Good to hear you are enjoying Throne Of Glass.. The sequels are even better! 😉 And 13 new books, I’m jealous! I’m going to try and stay away from buying any new ones… My TBR pile is already about to explode as it is haha. And I love the distractions, especially the furry ones. 😀
Here’s my teaser. 🙂
I’m not too far into it, but I really like it so far and I am sure I am going to want to read the sequels. I’ve heard so many good things about this series. I have been trying so hard to stay away from buying books, but I can’t stop myself. lol. I also discovered this website called (bookoutlet.com) and OMG….I couldn’t resist buying. So many books on my TBR were on that website and they were ranging from $1.99 to $6.99!! I love my furry distractions 🙂 thanks!
Especially Crown Of Midnight is definitely worth reading if you decide to continue the series. 🙂 And I think I will stay away from bookoutlet.com for now; BookBub is already way too dangerous! I actually reached the ‘magical’ number of 200 titles on my owned-but-not-read list; oops! 😀
Yeah, I would stay away from it for awhile if you think BookBub is dangerous (well, it is dangerous)! lol. This is physical books galore for so cheap! I think I am at 200 or close to also! ahhhh!
Haha I will try not to visit that page for a while then! I love buying books, especially physical ones, but I should probably read a few first before I start spending money again. 😉
I enjoyed Throne of Glass. I need to get around to reading the sequels one of these days! Those are some great distractions! 😀 Happy readings! Here’s my TT.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Throne of Glass, so I am glad that so far I am enjoying it. 🙂 thanks for linking me to your post!
Enjoy! your book and cute distractions.

Thank you 🙂 and thanks for linking me to your post. I will check it out!
Cool post, Ashley! 🙂 I love that you included your reading distractions! It should be a tag as its inevitable for every book worm! 🙂
Thank you, Emily! 🙂 Reading distractions can be so horrible sometimes when you are trying to get a book read. I have to finish this book before the end of April, since it was chosen for the book club and I want to be able to participate in the group chat about it!
That’s the worst! Hopefully, your reading goes smoothly over the next few days! Happy reading! 🙂
I keep seeing Throne of Glass everywhere just now. I love your teasers though. It sounds really interesting and I may have to read it soon.
I too haven’t done much reading the past few days and have been distracted. I started a new job so I’m trying to organise myself into a new routine.
My TT: http://myexpandingbookshelf.blogspot.com/2015/04/teaser-and-top-ten-tuesday-14-april.html
Hopefully you can check it out soon 🙂 I’ve heard a lot of great things about the series. Getting into a routine is always a good thing. Hopefully things get settled and you can start reading more. Thank you for linking me to your post! I’ll check it out.
I have Throne of Glass sitting here and haven’t started it yet. Must fix that.
And as I type this my cat is sitting, staring at me. I wonder what she’s thinking?LOL
