I went to another Goodwill yesterday (seriously, I need to stop). This one had a HUGE book section and I was excited. I told my boyfriend that it was the best Valentine’s Day ever, lol. It was kind of overwhelming though – so many books, lol. My boyfriend was also getting slightly annoyed after 30 minutes of me looking, lol, oops. I’m going back another day with my older sister, for sure. She loves books like I do, so I can better check them out with her.
Anyway! I left with 10 books (my older sister gave me 3 she was done with, so total 13), oh man. I would have left with more had I stopped and read the backs and insides of every single book, I’m sure. 10 books for ONLY $14.
Me chillin with my pup and there’s my stack of books I got. Oh Hi!
Some books my boyfriend actually picked out for himself to read and I’m sure I’ll probably end up reading them before he ever does. lol! He’s not a reader, more of a gamer. Anyway, onto the books!
This book gets its own picture because my sister borrowed it from me right after I got home.
+ The Killing Club by Marcie Walsh & Michael Malone
+ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
+ The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
+ Prey by Michael Crichton
+ The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (I could never pass up The Hobbit, because hello!!! It’s The Hobbit!)
+ Half-Moon Investigations by Eoin Colfer (he did the Artemis Fowl series and I couldn’t pass this up)
+ Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception (it’s the 4th book in the series, but I plan on getting the others because I want to read the series. I couldn’t pass up $1.50 just because it was the 4th book)
Boyfriend’s choices:
+ Blink of an Eye by William S. Cohen
+ The Fear Index by Robert Harris
+ The World Is Made of Glass by Morris West
My older sister gave me:
+ Hoot by Carl Hiaasen
+ I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
+ Paper Towns by John Green (I actually bought this for my mom for her birthday, but she still hasn’t read it. My older sister and I decided to claim it for ourselves; she probably forgot she even had it)
I am pretty excited about all the books. My boyfriend bought them all for me and he also gave me a $50 gift card to Bath & Body Works to feed my other addiction. I told him I wasn’t going to spend money there anymore (or try not to spend as much as I usually do), but now that I have this gift card I can buy so much. I also have a 20% off coupon, so it’s heaven. I think the last time I was there was in December, so I’ve been good. I was seriously going once a week. It was bad, I was bad. I probably have over $1000 (could be more if I don’t count the discounts and coupons I’ve used, to be honest) worth of products boughten there in just a year and the worst part is the majority of it is just sitting there barely (if at all) being used. Ugh.
ColbyJack loves books 😉
What books have you bought recently? Any that you’re really excited about reading?
Well you said my recent purchases! I read I am Messenger and really liked it. I am not sure if you know, but he also wrote The Book Thief..which is a great book. I know they are supposed to make a movie for Paper Towns but I don’t remember enjoying that book really. I’ve read just about all his books except for 2 and that one has been my least favorite. But I hope you enjoy it!
I need to try and read Narnia and Lord of the Rings as well…but your haul was great! Such a nice stack and some I haven’t even heard of!
My older sister said she really liked I Am the Messenger too. I’m looking forward to reading it. I loved The Book Thief, it was such a good book. I heard they were making a movie for Paper Towns, I’ve always wanted to read the book. I secretly bought the book for my mom’s birthday just so I could eventually read it lol. I love LOTR so much and the movies. I haven’t read Narnia yet either. 🙂 Thanks!
Such a good collection!
🙂 I’m excited about it lol
Wow what a fantastic selection, I loved The Kite Runner but I don’t think there is one in your haul that I wouldn’t happily read (or re-read)
Thanks 🙂 I heard that a lot of people read The Kite Runner and loved it, so I couldn’t pass up getting it and finally getting to read it. Hopefully soon I can start it.
I read most of the “Artemis Fowl” series YEARS ago, and really liked it! I still need to obtain and read the final two-ish books of the series eventually. Goodwill is such a steal for books!

I’m excited to read more of the series. I am so glad I decided to check out Goodwill for books. I’ve had great experiences so far!
